Just saw the confirmation. Horrible news, that no family ever should have to hear. Prayers for her daughter, family and friends.

If it's a club patron he knew where she lived, because she never made it to the club. How far from the club to the hotel where she lived? Last seen: With BF. Not in a cab. Not at the club. At hotel with BF and then never seen again.

Does anyone know what time she supposedly left the hotel to get a cab?

Approximately 2 miles.

I don't think the body was put into the water in NOLA either. It would be one heck of a coincidence for the body parts to float all in the same direction and to the same place. There are whirlpools in the River which throw things in different directions, tree limbs, and about a zillion other things which would snag anything.

Not to mention boats traffic, animals, etc.

In addition, why go through the trouble of dismembering a body just to have the pieces wash up near each other? That is, if the reason for dismembering was to delay/avoid her identity being revealed.

I'm thinking regular club patron, if the BF is ruled out.

Learning details from regular visits.

If you've ever been to a club like this, you know the kind of chatter you can hear from dancers.

I had a 20 minute conversation with a dancer about bracelets. She'd admired mine, brought one of her own to show me.

Vulnerable people, often very open.

Many are vulnerable. They come here from small towns and think they know the streets, but they're clueless, really. (In the past, I've offered some young women money for a bus ticket and a ride to the station. They all declined.) I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jaren accepted a ride from a "friendly" stranger or passing acquaintance.

I would still like to have it confirmed whether or not she made it to work. A comment here says she did, but that hardly makes it a fact.

RIP, Jaren. :rose:

Thoughts and prayers for the family. :(

Someone said 8 pm not sure if on news or on here can't remember due to no sleep

Is it still light in NOLA at 8 pm? Why no witnesses actually seeing her get into a cab? Lots of people at the hotel, surely there would be someone who saw her get picked up.

Based on yesterday's high winds and high tides, Bass said it appeared likely that the torso floated in from somewhere toward the west of Bay St. Louis. There were no signs of a homicide taking place at the beach, he said.

Also, the tide is moving from west to east furthering investigators' belief the body could have floated from New Orleans.

No one ever expected her to go missing. Being totally honest here I went to the store this morning and if anyone there wet missing later today. Guess what I could not recall seeing them.

Whoever did this was comfortable in the surroundings with little fear of being caught. The time that would be required to carry this out and did he have tools available to use or did he have to go out and buy them?

Also I have seen no mention of when boyfriend reported her missing???

Could not be fingerprints no mention of arms or hands being located yet. Only legs. I think they might have rushed the DNA through.
No matter how they confirmed her still the prep is out there. And needs to be located and brought to Justice before they do it again if they have not already done so.
RIP Jaren

They didn't need fingerprints once they found (gulp) her head and thigh.

Well I think it's safe to say this guy isn't very smart if he was hoping to avoid ID. I think he was hoping for sharks. He dismembered her for transport and then had to put her somewhere. Putting her in the water means 1.) Sharks and the possibility that she may never be found or 2.) Ending up in BSL means you have a crime scene that could be anywhere between NOLA and BSL, hence,he was able to distance himself from the body.

IMO, he hunts and fishes a lot. It takes a pretty sharp knife to stab a person in the chest through the sternum.

Sick SOB. There are actually quite a few "simple" answers that are possible in this case. Her job put her in a position that some creepy men looked on her as an object (and they are all creepy if that is their attitude and they go to look-not saying all men or even all patrons are) and the past has shown that dancers are often preferred prey.

A private dance client could have arranged to meet her b4 work or met her as she was walking in and offered a sum large enough to make her go with him. Violence is not unknown by club owners/workers. The b/f of course. Someone in that roach motel they lived in who picked her out.

and often loved ones hold back info because they are afraid they will make the victim look bad.

That is at the store where there are hundreds of people. This took place at a small hotel where people live and interact all day long. I imagine someone sitting outside when "Hey there's Jaren getting in a cab...bye Jaren!" They weren't observing a stranger, they knew her.

I am always grateful when a missing person is recovered to give those who loved them some closure. It's been said time and again how hellish it must be to go years without knowing where the missing person is. So in this case, as horrible as it is to have body parts wash ashore, I am relieved that family and friends know where she is, AND elated that possible evidence can be found as a result of the recovery.

I also wonder what that tells us about the perp? I know the folks that study these things probably know, but it makes me think this is an unsophisticated killer. On the other hand, there are so many missing people who are never found. I can only surmise those that met a terrible demise, did so at the hands of perps who are very well organized and sophisticated to have hidden the remains and avoided detection. It is all quite sobering to me.

Sweetly, I am so sorry that your family must deal with this. It is very difficult and will leave a mark for many years. My cousin was beheaded in Guatemala two days after Christmas while he was covering the country's election. That was in 2000. It seems like nobody talks about him now because the memories are so painful. Don't let that happen with Jaren. Celebrate her life and remember her fondly. And I know I speak for the rest of us when I say that I hope justice is served.

While I have your attention, there is a mention of a "Chrissy" on the Stiletto's My Space page. A dancer who posted a Youtube tribute to Hillary is also a friend of the Stiletto's My Space page. And I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Chrissy. She has a My Space page titled "Chrissy RIP." But the page is private. I just wondered whether something happened to her, too.
