Just thinking how fast things can turn ugly in situations with people. I don't think this was a preplanned kill, i think something went very wrong very fast wherever they were. Jaren was dead and the first thought was to somehow get her body out into deep water. Dismembering was for ease of travel and ease of losing her to the deep...thinking that small pieces would be eaten not float up.

So I can agree with those who are saying that IF this couple murdered Jaren, they did not plan to do so that night. They would have avoided those cameras if they planned this killing.

And it was not an OD or an accident, because of the knife wound in her chest or back. So if they killed her, something had to lead up to that stabbing.

Did they all do bath salts together that night maybe?

I would guess that it's to narrow down the number of people who know which clothes Lockhart was wearing when she was last seen.

Its quite unfortunate that I can attest to the dismemberment being void of massive amounts of blood due to the fact that I made a poor decision(which i immediately regretted) to watch the video that's link was posted in the Magnotta threads here at WS. It was 11 long and painfully disturbing minutes of the raw footage Magnotta recorded of his dismembering Jun Lin(among other dastardly deeds done) all while the soundtrack from American psycho blared loudly..

The only blood was the medium sized stain on the mattress of the bed wwhere it occurred(that blood specifically from the neck wound that was initially inflicted so as to basically drain the body of blood) ..from that point forward all stab wounds, cuts, slices, and dismemberment were very noticeably void of producing blood. .to the point that it made one question was it real due to the fact that this dismemberment was practically void of producing blood(sadly LE has since tthen verified and validated that it was all very real and actual unedited footage recorded and uploaded by Magnotta himself)

Trust me i wish i did not have this personal knowledge of which I speak.. but I do and my only point in sharing such is to make aware for those who believed as I did prior to my witnessing such, that a dismemberment would be gruesomely bloody.. there are many others in the Magnotta threads that also chose to view the video and therefor can attest to it being in fact shockingly void for the most part of blood due to the method used by Magnotta..

Just one other quick reference to yet another decapitation/dismemberment case and point that backs up what it is that I am stating and That is the Lauren Giddings murder that happened almost exactly 1year ago in Macon, GA.. her alleged killer, neighbor and fellow Mercer Law school student and recent graduate is now awaiting his trial on capital murder of Lauren..Stephen McDaniel murdered, decapitated, and completely dismembered Lauren in her tiny, across campus apartment that he lived next door to her at.. he did so and yet 72+ hours later her very concerned friends entered her apartment when they all could not make contact with her for several days.. upon entering her apartment they found NOTHING OUT OF ORDER.. NOR OUT OF THE NORM WHATSOEVER.. zero sign of a struggle, much less any sign of the horror of her murder and dismemberement that had truly occurred in that tiny apartment just a couple days prior to their entering it..

As I said my pointing out all of this is NOT to argue, but rather to point to there being documented proof that a dismemberment does not necessarily equate to a gruesome, extremely bloody crime scene.. IMO Magnotta video proves this in witnessing the actual shocking site of it being practically void of all blood while dismembering his victim.. as well as Lauren Giddings case shows that whatever amount of blood present in dismembering her that it was able to be cleaned and easily concealed within 72+ hours of it having occurred that when her concerned friends entered her apartment they saw absolutely nothing out of place, out of the norm, nor even hinting at what horror had actually taken place there..

It is exactly that, that is my point in sharing this information.. as to say that wherever this crime scene is that it isn't necessarily obvious at all that any crime has occurred there.. atleast not to the naked eye..

I could see not a lot of blood being produced in a dismemberment case. Ok, hate to be gruesome.... Once the person dies and their heart stops beating, the blood loss is going to be significantly less because it is not pumping the blood out. Also, blood would start to congeal at some point preventing even more loss... So, I agree on that point, but there is still some blood somewhere....

Well I don't think dismembering would first come to mind to most but two things here:

1. It was after an international manhunt for a man who dismembered a body on video..it would be a recent memory

2. If he had access to a boat, it would be sensible (if you are panicking because you have a dead body on your hands) to dump her in water. How do you transport her from car to boat though especially if people are around the docks. A large cooler can easily contain a petite body cut up, then there is no trying to hide her in a roll of carpet or something. No one would blink twice at a guy going to his boat with a cooler.

Hi all,

I'm new to posting to this board, but I've been reading here for awhile. I'm a Mississippi Gulf Coast resident and just wanted to say that our local news is saying that the man in the video may be a doorman on Bourbon St. and the woman a possible street performer.

I also just read up on the Atwood case and I must say that there are some very eery similarities. And I agree--the woman in the surveillance video really does look a lot like the woman in the youtube video posted by the guy that alleges she was his ex and Atwood's accomplice. Very strange indeed.

I hope Jaren's killer is found soon! My heart just breaks for her and her family

I read someone make note that had these girls been Tulane students instead of dancers their cases would not be swept under the rug.

I'm not sure that either of the murdered women in question has a case that's been "swept under the rug."

A friend of mine was murdered in 2004. He had graduated from a good school, and worked in a respected job. He was shot three times in his apartment, and the police never even found a suspect, beyond pointing random figures at his friends. Their working theory was that he was killed as part of a love triangle between himself and two female friends. This theory neglected the fact that he was as gay as the day is long, and the women involved had zero interest in him as anything more than a friend, of course.

Almost eight years later, it's difficult to find anything about him on the internet. He'd gone by the textbook for doing everything right in life, but I can guarantee you that none of you would ever have heard his name.

Someone must surely recognize these people; the photos are quite clear and the man's get-up is pretty distinctive, IMO...

Not attempting to tarnish the name of a dead girl, here.... but it's worth pointing out that she did have a drug problem at some point, as pointed out but some of her friends in a facebook post. Not sure if that's been brought up anywhere. (beat that dead horse)

If the man in the video and the man hit by the train are indeed the same person (which, again, is a long shot), he would have had to change clothes at some point in almost a week. But people do tend to wear the same clothes repeatedly, and if not the exact same clothes, then at least the same style.

I'm familiar with the location in question, and unless this man was deaf, there's no possible way that he could have missed there was a train coming.

It's possible that this man was a victim as well and held hostage for a time before being killed and thrown on the tracks.
Surely the ME knows if he was dead or alive on impact.
I hope his clothes can be tested for DNA because it sure sounds like (if this is the guy on the video...)he had not changed his clothes in a week!
Perhaps because he was guilty and on the run BUT he could be a victim as well!

Maybe we will find SOMETHING out!
