Hmm...dunno. It shows 56 comments when I go there. Did you go far enough down the page?

Thank you OldSteve
Jurysout- I can understand why they may have taken your cellphone as most have cameras and there is no photography allowed inside the clubs. As for the keys, maybe too many girls have been poked or to prevent D.W.I??.
<respectfully snipped>

If it was to prevent DUIs they wouldn't give the keys back at 2:00 AM. ;-)

(taking doctors' phones makes them unnecessarily anxious & they're likely to leave sooner)

Hello all! This is my first post and after this one, I will put myself in "timeout" for a little while because already I am so disheartened by what is going on in these threads Re: Jaren and her profession. When it comes to whether or not her occupation put her at a higher risk, I see both sides of the argument. Statistics are great bc they are based on fact and WS is about facts. No problem there, but with all due respect, when people say that this is not about morality, but in a previous thread said that they felt her lifestyle was "sinful" or that she should have found a different job and chose not to, I feel that judgements are being made, despite how many times it is said that they are not judging. I am sorry if this is offensive to anyone but I felt like it needed to be said. No disrespect or hostility intended.

We all have our own opinions about this industry but does that really matter here and now? She was a person whos's life had value and She was murdered in the most horrible way. I think it's safe to say that we all are here bc we want justice for Jaren! Let's Sleuth On and leave the personal opinions (that are irrelevant to this case) aside! RIP Jaren! You will not be forgotten!

Hi JustMom. Welcome!

I took a little break earlier today myself.

In other threads I was happy to use my Ignore List from time to time.

Jaren was a beautiful girl. What happened to her is a terrible tragedy compounded by brutality.

I liked the YouTube memorial video because it was about her life, not her death.

They are still there. Scroll past the article might take a few seconds

Maybe Jaren's adoptive mother did not know everything about her life. I know my parents didn't know what I was doing every minute when I was her age. And maybe she left with a couple for "escort" reasons. And the situation got bad. Some people like living on the edge and the adrenaline rush that comes with it. I'm sure this beautiful young girl thought she was invincible - we all did at 22. Sadly, because she was in THAT place at THAT time, something very bad happened. And I am willing to bet you that THIS particular scenario was DIRECTLY related to her profession. NOT HER FAULT.

I had to refresh the page 4 times to get everything to finally show up. I think the article is taking too many hits and it's slowing down their server.

I can see the comments when I pull up the article.

Thanks so much for all your help. I think I'll try again in a little while. I suspect it could be too many hits at one time. Thank you again!

Yay, I got it. Isn't that strange I'd gotten the article several times before but this time there were the comments. Oh well, it sure sounds to me like there's info not being released re Hillary.

I hope they catch the murder/s asap!

This case is gets to me because it is so close to home for me.The New Orleans area has always been my home and even though I moved to the boonies, I still spend a lot of time in the New Orleans area. Jaren was a beautiful girl and I can imagine she was much like a lot of people i know.

My 2 cents about the fact that she worked in a dangerous area/profession does not mean that she had any culpability for her fate. Some would suggest that people shouldn't work in dangerous occupations/areas but people need to make money and they go where they job leads them.

We just had a home health nurse, going to care for a client in a high crime area who was brutally attacked and gang raped in New Orleans. Thank Goodness the perps were caught but still, it was a brutal assault and she is lucky to be alive.

I used to work in a dangerous area in the inner city of New Orleans. I often arrived at work to find discarded needles, crack bags and bottles there, all around. My work brought me in contact with drug dealers, crack addicts, felons, criminals and many other people. My car was broken into 3 times, I had to be watchful when arriving and leaving each day as I thru the projects and scary areas. I had 5 coworkers who were assaulted in one year.

So what was my dangerous profession that brought in such a scary area? I was a teacher, lol, in a school situated between two high crime projects. Some of the parents I dealt with were downright scary! But if I had been attacked, I wouldn't say it was my fault for being in such a place. Yeah, I knew the dangers and I chose to work there but I loved my students and was dedicated to them.

But when my car was broken into (3 times!) , the principal blamed ME for parking where I did and said it was my fault because I needed to find a better place to park. This infuriated me and I had enough so I found a job at a private school and wrote him a resignation letter that said something like
" my car has been broken into 3 times and you have simply advised me to find a better place to park. I am happy to report that I have found a better place to park at a local private school where i begin work on Monday. Thanks for your help and motivation in helping me find a batter place to park."

It just really gets to me when women have to always be on guard because they are vulnerable, even in seemingly safe situations. Just the fact that we are born female puts us at a disadvantage from birth. We always have to wonder if a male is just being friendly or do they have an ulterior motive.

What REALLY gets to me is the fact that IF a young vulnerable girl is attacked sexually or molested then it increases her chance of ending up in a high risk lifestyle. That lifestyle only increases her chances of being attacked again. Being molested may a physical event but the emotional damage it does is often devastating for a lifetime.

I'm just musing here, not responding to any particular post or trying to start any issues over anything. I am so saddened by this and how it affects Jaren's loved ones and especially her child.

Thanks and my prayers go out to her family and the people who loved her who have posted on this site and given us more information about the person that she was to them. That means a lot because the media reduces victims to a statistic or leads with the most lurid (often simply rumored) information.

I encourage her loved ones to post here if they wish. I would love to hear more about her as a person, about the kinds of things that they loved about her. Those kinds of things help us to remember that she was a loved human being and a cherished person and keep her from being dismissed as simply a sad statistic or just another victim.

Hey all, I'm new here and not really sure how this works. I'm from uptown in NOLA and I have an interesting tidbit to share. A friend of mine on fb posted that she was walking in Gretna yesterday when it started to rain. As she was walking a car pulled over and the male driver asked her if she wanted a ride. She declined and he drove off. Sure enough it started to pour. She took shelter under the elevated West Bank Expressway. Well the driver circled back and again asked her if she wanted a ride especially since it was raining harder. She told him she didn't usually do accept rides from strangers but she leaned in closer to get a read on him(to see if he Seemed trustworthy(???!!! I know, crazy!) as she looked at the inside of the passenger door, the inside handle was completely missing. Could be something. She did not give a description of the car nor make a report to the police. I could message her on fb to see if I could get a description and post it on here May have nothing to do with this case but seems like he was up to NO good to me.

For any locals, Channel 8 (local Fox affiliate) just announced they'll have an opinion from a psychiatrist on what kind of perp would commit such a murder. News starting now.

Shrink (Sorry, missed his name. Will look for it now.) says SK's sometimes dismember a body to get rid of it. Doesn't think that's true in JL's case.

Person didn't care if remains were found, or even might have wanted them to be found. Might know the person and "go off" on the victim.

Might or might not be sexual in nature. LE should look at other missing person cases for links.
