Just a thougt, please dont throw tomatoes

Speaks is a criminal with a lengthy record and on the run-hiding out from NC.

If these two committed the crime wouldnt he be long gone?

Also, is there a press statement today? or did I miss it? TIA
eta: I must have been thinking of the 2pm mag. hearing

JMO

Not really. Charles Manson was still at Spahn Ranch when they got him.
Speaks is probably very arrogant - hiding in plain sight.

So question - if they are indeed brought to trial for this horrific crime, would it be in Louisiana or in Mississippi. I guess I'm having a hard time understanding why they would be sent to Mississippi. Yes the body was found there, but if the actual crime happened here? Just wondering how that works.

Because they have not determined where the murder actually occurred, MS has jurisdiction until they prove the crime happened somewhere other than where the body ended up. Looks like they have some info that leads them to the house in LA so I would look for LA LE to take over then. At least that is my understanding...

I'm not sure how far it is...or what the reasons were for them to go there.
Is there a restaurant in T Parish and they do not have in Kenner?
Or perhaps they just knew the people or it was better run at the one in T Parish?

However, for what it is worth... we have been going to a Mexican restaurant for 25+ years. We go as much as once a week.
We drive from Town A through Town B, Town C and into Town D to get there. About 30 minutes or so.

Then again, we drive an hour and a half for ice skating lessons.:sigh: So maybe my perspective is flawed. :what:

I think they hightailed it to Tparish as soon as they found out the video had been released!

Hmm...what were they doing in their *former* home? Is someone else living there?

Someone else must have been in the home because that is where LE found out they were in Tparish at that restaurant!

They're saying that's their house? They lived there?

Wonder if that's their dwt. ;)

I'm trying to get caught up. Have they been named as suspects, or are they still poi?

Good point. Maybe they were on their way to somewhere else and happened to be dining wherever.

Wow, they went FAR! ALL the way to T-parish. These 2 are such idiots. (Sarcasm not directed at you, Isabelle)

Wonder if a crime took place in that home? Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Wonder who knew what restaurant they were at?

Being in kenner, they got on I-10 west and went to I-55 north. Pretty much a straight shot!

Hope whoever tipped LE gets a reward!

I was wondering the same thing.

from twitter:

Maya Rodriguez ‏@MRodriguezWWL
Hancock County Sheriff's Office says they will rely on evidence collected to determine where Jaren Lockhart was murdered.

Let me guess - you are wondering if these 2 didn't kill her? Tell me if I'm wrong...

I think the fact that he ran when police approached him and she resisted arrest says a lot. They knew the jig was up.

uh...nope

"Neighbor's wife" reportedly.

I don't remember if there was a reward or not.

There should be.

Just my $0.02 . . .

Since the body was found in Hancock County, Mississippi, Mississippi authorities take over the investigation. If, in the course of the investigation, it is determined that the murder occurred in Jefferson Parish, then those authorities would take over. As of right now, we don't know of any evidence indicating that the murder occurred in the NOLA area. For all we know, this pair could've driven to MS and killed her there. I admit that it seems unlikely to have occurred in MS, but that's the assumption until there are other indications.

As an aside, it does appear that the many different law enforcement agencies involved are working together to determine the truth and don't seem to be having any jurisdiction wars at this time.

Tell me what's off when it comes to you....this feels right to me and I think they found their crime scene.
