We cannot start a thread without a LE report or MSM article. So far, searches have turned up nothing. It seems LE considered the death a suicide or an OD, and no press release was issued. But if you should find one, by all means, please post it.
Bessie, remove this if there is some reason that it should not be posted. I know the statement are not coming from LE and are statements from Hillary's family so not sure if this meets the criteria.
It is frustrating that there is so little to find about Hillary's death. I found this article (link below) about the vigil held for Jaren and Hillary in which Hillary's sister described Hillary's death and the fact that the case is still open and that LE is simply is not interested in pursuing it. NOPD is overwhelmed with cases and their murder rate is hundreds each year, many of which are unsolved.
Hillary's sister had this to say about her sister's death ""When my sister died, no one really listened to us."
"The case is still open, but the police just stopped investigating."
"Hillary's body was found in the bathtub of her apartment. There were missing items such as her cell phone, and someone had turned the thermostat in the room up to 85 degrees, accelerating decay."
"It's very suspicious, how she passed away,"
Hillary's sister said they don't believe the suspects in Jaren's death killed Hillary, although the cases may be related.
"We actually think it was someone else," she said. "We just hope the police really decide to look back into her case and get us some answers."We know my sister's case was a murder."

I would love to see the police do something with this case, even if it was just to address it and state that it is an open case and that the death was suspicious and state the cause of death. The case seems stalled and LE seems content to have it that way rather than have it as an unsolved murder. Sad but that is often how the New Orleans PD operates. Frustrating and infuriating!
