The FBI/New Orleans Violent Crimes Task Force has been involved since the beginning.

Bass said the investigation into Lockhart’s death is ongoing, and that officials await more information about the property seized from the Kenner couple’s residence Wednesday.

“The FBI Violent Crimes Task Force was conducting the process primarily. We were just assisting,” Bass said of the search.

Our New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force (NOVCTF) combats significant violent crime in Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Bernard Parishes. The NOVCTF is a multi-agency federal, state, and local task force that investigates high-profile violent incident crimes, such as bank robberies, Hobbs Act homicides, robberies of armored carriers and commercial institutions, and kidnappings.

Also, doesn't the FBI kind of watch over/ guide NOPD following the last few years of corruption and scandal? Like the certain bridge issue...

They were friends on July 4th per MAS so I'm gonna say Addie was MORE than just an "acquaintance". Since Addie's family wouldn't speak for her I am glad that MAS did!
