I apologize for the delayed response, Ms. Shagwell. Yes, according to HM's family, the two young women were friends and one-time co-workers. Relatives of HM organized a candlelight vigil for JL back in June.

Morvant recently lost her cousin, Hillary Moulder, who was a coworker and friend of Jaren Lockhart. Both of the girls danced in New Orleans.

"Regardless of whether you knew her or not, it's something that's devastating," said Morvant.

Feeling a connection to Jaren and her family, Hillary's family organized the memorial.

It's true that some locals, including myself, speculated that TS and MS were paid by an unknown individual to "make arrangements" for a private party. Such a thing is certainly not unheard of. JL was either the second or third dancer the two approached that night. Remember, the first one spoke to the media, and said MAS offered her money to be "a treat" for TS. Blech! (There was talk of another dancer being propositioned by MAS, but I'm not sure that rumor was confirmed.) Judging by MAS's actions and things we've learned since June, I no longer lean as strongly to that theory, but it still makes sense.

The notion of "a treat" for TS came only from that first dancer. I don't know how the media came to talk to her, but FQ club employees are usually reluctant witnesses. Since she was onstage when MAS approached her, others probably noticed. So either someone gave her name to LE, or she volunteered, knowing it was bound to come out. But did she tell the truth about what MAS said to her? Probably, but on the other hand, if MAS mentioned a third party, maybe someone known to have "power", would the dancer say that? Or would she refrain from naming the other person out of fear for her safety? I think she would, and that's why I'm not convinced her story is completely accurate. I've even considered that she deliberately went public with a phony story to let "them" know she wasn't talking. JMO IMO MOO

No apologies needed, Bessie. I don't know how you and the other mods keep track of so many cases not to mention the questions and speculations that come with each one. I do remember the connection being established between Jaren and Hillary, but what caught my attention was a reference to MAS having been friends with Hillary also. I came across it when I went back to the early threads looking for any posts made by Jaren's friends (about her ties to the MS coast.)

On thread #3 p. 18 one member said that there was mention of MAS and Hillary being friends on Jaren's Facebook page.? But, it was uncertain whether or not it was just rumor. If the two did know each other then that would add one more to MAS's list of deceased FQ acquaintances whose deaths involved highly suspect circumstances.

For any new members, or those who joined as I did after the arrest of TS and MAS, it is very interesting to go back to those first threads and read what those close to the FQ club and street scene like Bessie were saying about MAS, TS, and their impressions based on past encounters with the two. Still have to wonder what they are thinking now with four months gone by and no charges against either MAS or TS related to Jaren's murder? Really hope something happens soon to bring Justice for Jaren and her family.

I can see what you're saying, but wouldn't it be safer if word got around that you weren't talking at all? It seems to me that such a third person would actually get more squeamish knowing she was talking at all, even if his name wasn't mentioned. Just trying to hash it out in my head and maybe playing a bit of devil's advocate.

She had a married couple as her profile pic for awhile then changed it to 2 children running in a stream. Could be a sign of longing for a relationship, cover up, or family. WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE ANALYSIS!? Dammit! Between this case and Keiosha Felix I have no clue what is going on and it is aggravating the hell out of me! We cannot do much more for either case at this point besides search for something of the ordinary! Frustrating!

Amen MrsBungi, it has been a long wait for us so I can only imagine how this must feel to Jaren's loved ones.

But just remember that it took a while for the Mickey Shunick's case in Lafayette and it took a while for the arrest to happen but when it did, it moved swiftly. Now we are being inundated with the evidence and wow, do they ever have evidence and thousands of hours of work and proof and research.

Jaren's case is a different case (as each case is different) but in this case at least we have the "persons of interest" pegged and on film. So I am praying that this case will also come to a sudden, swift jump in arrests and such.

As for MAS's insistent on "not remembering". Well that may just come back to bite her in her bony little @$$. If she can't remember, then she also can't give much of a defense when the evidence comes in. Perhaps TS will come to a point where he confesses his involvement and pins it on her and she won't even be able to refute it if he pins it all on her because she "doesn't remember". So TS may be able to make a deal in his favor by turning on her. But his goose is cooked anyway, I don't see him leaving jail for a long time anyway.

So yeah, the wait is long but in the meantime we aren't going anywhere. MAS should know that this just won't go away. I hope she takes the time to read up on Mickey's case, and Jhessye Shockley's case and others on here where it took a while but in the end the perps were caught.

I'm glad to be in such good company of the WS family while we wait and am thankful for everyone who keeps Jaren's case going whether it is by posting here or as part of the support groups for Jaren and especially for LE.

Justice is coming. The karma train is loading up with evidence (although we don't see it happening, don't doubt it IS happening). Sooner or later that karma train will get is gonna be here with a whole bunch of evidence and Justice for Jaren.

Just saw a segment on wwltv updating Jaren's case. The lead detective, Saucier, reassured Jaren's family that this case is still active in spite of the fact that few have come forward with additional info to help the case. Sounds like they are still waiting for FBI results on the evidence collected. MAS and TS are still primary suspects!

One significant difference between Jaren's case and Mickey's is how many friends and family of Mickey's made themselves visible and Mickey's disappearance headline news until her body was discovered. Jaren's support group has not been able to get as much attention and it appears that many of her friends who also knew MAS and TS stopped talking after their arrest. It really makes you wonder who or what they might be covering for or hiding from.?

Hopefully Saucier will get the evidence he needs to bring Justice for Jaren and her family and true friends!

I have no doubt in my mind that someone knows something that could bring closure to this family. I totally get someone being scared to go public with information but as I have said before call it in as ANONYMOUS!! No personal appearances are necessary!

And I totally agree with you Ms. Shagwell. Jaren's family and TRUE Friends need JUSTICE!!

It seems painstakingly long but I do believe we'll have them before the December hearing date. Just wish sooner.

There seems to be a lot of talk of MAS lately. But I think that TS has committed crime after crime and I think he has finally graduated to murder. There is no way that you just start out dismembering human beings. for MAS: How do you go along with someone else hurting another person??? What makes someone, not only, think of these horrible things, but also do them? What is wrong with him? I think I have read somewhere else that he could be connected to other missing girls in LA and was it TN?

I'm surprised with the Crimestoppers organization having such strong presence and influence in NOLA that they haven't done more to move this case forward. I also don't recall any rewards offered by any of the FQ clubs where Jaren was employed. You would also think that someone in management or ownership would have made some attempt to help find her killers.

This is one of several reasons why I think there is a lot more to Jaren's murder than what appears to be. Something that strikes me as significant is that escort services in MS are supposed to have permits and licenses to run a business. Last time I checked, there were dozens of such services on the coast but not one had a state permit to operate- not one.?

I hope so too. With the little we know, I almost feel there's enough to file charges on. I have to believe LE knows that much more and will know even more when they get the test results back. I'm hoping they're recent plea for more info is just to put an exclamation point on their case.

This article was released the same day as the WWL article. When I read this it gave me the impression that perhaps they do not have the evidence they need to bring charges. This is Very Disturbing to me. How can it be even remotely possible that these 2 can possibly be "in the clear?'" There has to be someone out there who knows something that could help solve this. Someone who knew Jaren surely should care enough for her, her daughter & her family that they would come forth with any info they might have. Crimestoppers is anonymous. A letter can be mailed to detectives anonymously. There are options. This was a horrific crime & those responsible have to pay. Can someone tell me how such a crime can be commited & there be no evidence? Something about that just doesn't add up for me. This case really does need more publicity. It also needs to be treated as a much higher priority Than what it has been. Way too much time is elapsing. I will continue to pray for JUSTICE FOR JAREN & will pray that it comes very soon & with a vengance.

I hope we have all evidence processed and admissible in court before December. All I can offer is to let Jaren's Family and friends someone cares and thinks about what they must be going through.
