Seriously, how long does it take to run lab tests? SO frustrating. The only thing I can imagine that could explain the length of time is maybe it is more complex than just TS and MAS and it is taking a while for police to ensure they nail all involved, especially some kind of big wig.

Sure hope this is the case and justice is coming! Breaks my heart to think about Jaren's baby girl being without her during this Christmas season.

It is time for an update from LE. If I remember correctly, TS's court date is coming up fairly soon. I really hope they at least tell us when they get the results back, even if they don't tell us what those results are. Once the results are back, it will be pretty telling about the results of those tests or the current status of the investigation depending on if arrests are made or not.

The last time I checked, Speaks was scheduled for sentencing on 12/13/12.

Thanks Bessie. I knew it was early part of December but couldn't find it for the life of me. I am still holding out hope we hear about test results being back by that date.

Here's an article from the Sun Herald newspaper.
It's about half way through the article that Jaren is mentioned.

Thanks. Hearing that they discuss the case each week is encouraging. The fact that nothing coming in is credible isn't. Still waiting for those test results. If there are no charges when those come in, it obviously won't be a good sign.

definitely not good . now jaren's little girl has lost both parents in differing ways. hopefully this poor guy can get his life back on track.

This is so very sad for her dear daughter.
I get the impression Jaren was the person keeping this little family (fiancé, daughter) financially afloat by dancing. I know her daughter was living with her mom most of the time, but I suspect Jaren was giving her mom some sort of money to help with her daughter's expenses. I know when Jaren didn't return home from her shift, her fiancé was kicked out of the room they were living in because he couldn't pay.

Jaren and her little family were holding on by a thread. When Jaren's life was snuffed out by monsters who killed and dismembered her, the lives of her little family became even more tenuous on top of the normal shock and grief of losing a loved one. Murder doesn't just mean ending one person's life, it can also mean inflicting a series of events that are like small deaths in the lives of the murdered person's loved ones.

That doesn't excuse her fiance's actions or negate that he made his own choices. But man, it bothers me that he's going to be in jail while someone who was most likely party to Jaren's death and dismemberment is out free.... (and yes, I know he deserves to be in jail).

And I hope he can get his life back on track for Jaren's daughter.

In this post I speak as one who lost a fiance to a sudden death. It has been 5 years ago but it was pure hell for me. I was out of my mind with pain. The pain is unimaginable and I'm sure if I could have gotten drugs I would have drugged myself into oblivion and beyond, not caring if I died, probably hoping I would die and the pain would be over and I would be with my late fiance.

Obviously her fiance was in the wrong in the above article but nevertheless he is still very much a victim in the case of the death of Jaren and he still has all of my sympathy for losing Jaren and the pain he must be in. He is now, and has been since day one, in my continuing prayers and hoping he can make it thru the abyss.

What he has gone thru and continues to go thru is pure hell. Trust me, I know, I've been there, and it must be worse for him because the way he lost Jaren is beyond horrific. He is often on my mind and always in my prayers.

I'm sorry for your loss, SwampMama.
I feel great compassion for her fiancé. I know what he did was wrong and he deserves to be punished but man, do I feel for him. And I find it so strange he'll be imprisoned for this yet one of the suspects in Jaren's murder is roaming freely...it's so bizarre.

Unfortunately, I think Foster's recent arrest might shine some light on what may have led up to Jaren's murder and the horrible events that took place after. I always thought it was peculiar that he was not mentioned in her obit or in many of the updated reports by various media after he was cleared of suspicion in Jaren's murder. Given the number of years they reportedly were together, from high school thru the birth of their child to the last night she was seen alive, you would have thought he would have played a more important role in identifying the suspects last seen with Jaren, where they would have taken her, and what might have happened to her. I've always wondered whether his identity was being protected due to his own drug addictions, possible drug debts, previous run-ins with the law, or was it an intentional omission.

Anyone who has been following Jaren's case since the early summer knows that there are several social networking sites that are still accessible that were used by Jaren and many close to her. Foster apparently had spent some time in jail around the time their daughter was born. He must have been having a very difficult time resuming a lifestyle where he could support Jaren and their daughter if they were living in that horrible motel on Tulane Ave. when Jaren was murdered. They both seemed to be battling addiction and financial situations that were out of their control. Obviously, based on comments posted on media facebook pages with links to Foster's arrest this week, even those in Jaren's family seem to have lost their patience with his inability to turn his life around for those closest to him.

The fact that Jaren's fiance has been arrested for meth production, that MAS appears to have been a heavy meth user, and that the MS Gulf Coast has had too many meth busts to even keep track of is too much of a coincidence in this case. The toll that drug abuse and dealing takes on so many lives in the US is heartbreaking, as is coming to light in Jaren's case.

I still have to wonder if Jaren's murder was somehow related to a drug crazed party turned bad, or did it involve a bad drug deal with ruthless suppliers whose identities are being protected by all connected to this case?

There are too many who knew Jaren well, who were with her the last night she was seen alive, who should have known where she would go, what she would do, and why this could have happened to her not to have more information come forward to aid in the arrest of those responsible, and finally close this case for Jaren's family.

Swampmama <3, I am there with you (just a bit over four years now since I lost a fiance to a sudden death) and while I can't excuse the illegal actions, I can understand the pain. You are lost, and this man was probably lost into some sad abyss before his current situation has only made things harder for him. He is and has been in my prayers, along with everyone else who knew and loved Jaren. Until something is shown other than the two people who were seen leaving her place of employment with her is brought to light...I won't pass any judgment.

Thank you for stating that this family needs our support, not our condemnation right now. Let's all be strong and wait for justice for Jaren and be strong for her daughter and all the people that love her!

InTheDark, Losing my fiance was the hardest thing ever, because I lost him, the whole life we had, the future we were going to have and my whole world. 5 years later i am happily settled in a new life and a new fiance (Mr, Swamp) but way back when 5 years ago, it was just unimaginable that anything would ever be ok again. It takes time for the pain to heal but time drags on and each minute was excruciating. For me it was like the sun of my world, the very thing that I revolved around and was my source of light , warmth and Kept me in orbit was gone. I was suddenly adrift in a vast darkness.

But i am fine now, I love the life I have now but i couldn't possible have seen that back then. I am hoping that this will lead to Jaren's fiance going into a rehab program that will help him. I hate to see him in jail but that may be what could save his life at this point, if it can keep him from drugs and get him some help. I pray they show him mercy and get help for him. he has been thru a horrific and traumatizing ordeal.

And most of all, I want Justice for Jaren and for all of those who loved her and always will love her.
