Found Deceased LA - Jessica Easterly Durning, 43, New Orleans, 14 Aug 2019

Could it be an attempted publicity stunt to garner more followers to their "business?"
I think if it were a publicity stunt, she would have been found relatively quickly with a wild story about her kidnapping, like that gal from California.

I'm going with either
A. History of voluntary disappearance
or
B. LE is building a case behind the scenes.

Hi everyone! I live on the same street she lives on, but I am a few blocks away and did not know her. I first learned of her disappearance when I read a post by her friend on our neighborhood site. (Nextdoor App) One thing that struck me as odd was that the friend mentioned when she told the husband she was contacting the police he was "not enthusiastic" about it at all. Also, she mentioned that the husband had actually messaged her from the wife's facebook account to tell her about the friend being missing. Our street/neighborhood does have many cameras so I find it odd nothing seems to have come up yet. One thing to think about is that the block she lives on has lanes behind the houses. Although our neighborhood is really safe, many car break ins occur because of the criminals having easy access to getting in and out in a hurry. As someone mentioned, our street is right by a huge City Park with lots of lagoons. There is also a canal right between our street and the park and the lake is not far either.

Welcome Nolagirl504!!!

Thank you for your local neighborhood insight!

I’m so worried about Jessica and I really hope LE knows a lot more than we do and has been able to get hold of videos from the neighborhood.

Has there been any searching in that park and canal, lake, and lagoons? I think I read there hasn’t been yet. If not, it seems like LE has enough evidence that Jessica is not simply “missing.” :(

Welcome, thank you for joining us!!! We can definitely use some boots on the ground perspective.

If you drive by her house, we'd love to know what you see :p

I, for one, am absolutely disgusted with the way this case is being handled. I am absolutely certain that the local authorities have everything they need to bring light to what really happened, where Jessica is now, and how she got to be there. But, for some crazy reason that I guess I can't comprehend, the situation is being shoved to the side and everyone is scratching their heads. From what I gather, Jessica was in a bad relationship and wanted to get out... so much that she called a friend and said so. Then, with nothing on her person, she vanishes without a trace. Come on... this is textbook. You have a husband with a history of violence (as proven by his multiple previous charges) who is spending more time spinning tales of her mental health and posting on their multiple social media sites (not about her, but about asinine things) than he is actually LOOKING for his wife. Could that be because he KNOWS exactly where she is?? I guarantee if they brought him in and put him in the hot seat (and denied him of his "vices"), they would get all of the information that they need. It has been over two weeks now... when will the truth come out? And I wholeheartedly agree with the family member... #someoneknowssomething

Welcome ItsJustMe123, thanks for joining us. I think most here would agree with everything you stated!! But here at WS we have to tread lightly in voicing opinions. Unless LE announces that person is a person of interest or suspect, said person is considered out of bounds to discuss.

Please don't let that stop you from posting, just get creative in the way you word your posts.

Again good to have you here. Let's hope more details are released soon!! If you are a local, have you considered reaching out to media and asking for an update?

Understood. I will definitely respect the rules of the forum and I appreciate the extremely kind way you pointed them out.

No, I'm not a local. No, I have not reached out to local authorities for an update. When I mentioned that I know the authorities have been given information to push this case forward, I wasn't making an assumption. While I completely understand what you mean when you say to tread lightly about making assumptions, you actually hit the nail on the head of what my frustrations are... tread lightly. I truly feel like that's what is being done regarding this case. I know there is information that has been brought forward that the public has not been made aware of (yet!) as this is an ongoing investigation, but the stories and theories that are being spun about the missing individual are heartbreaking to read and frustrating to everyone waiting for something to be done.

I'll end on this note... if you or someone you know has any information, no matter how irrelevant you may think it may be, please contact the authorities. Be diligent and demand to be heard. And again, I wholeheartedly believe the sister... #someoneknowssomething

Thank you for sharing that bit of limited information!! Trust me, it's not being stated in open forum, but we share that same frustration!!

Also wanted to mention for the new members sake, there is a private conversation feature here at WS. There is an inbox at the top of your page which indicates when new messages have arrived.

Hello. Local here. How do you know that this case isn’t being pushed forward by law enforcement?

It may be that LE is very actively working this case. I’m local-ish and I’m surprised how little info I’m hearing in our local media.

The Missing Persons Case Networks FB has an update. It was linked on Page 1 of this thread, so I’m guessing it’s okay to share again.:(

Have you seen or heard of any police activity in the area?
I do know for a fact that the police is investigating the case. There isn’t much activity going on in the area. I was told that a local news network interviewed the husband last week but I’m not sure why it wasn’t released. I know that another member in this group posted an update but it seems like it was deleted. All I can say is that it isn’t a very good outcome.
