Here you can here the train, the shots fired then her car spin out and crash.
Sound of gunfire captured on surveillance camera during LSU student's killing; roughly a dozen gunshots heard in new recording

Locals have pieced together this much—
LE said she was eating fries from a fast food restaurant. The only thing open nearby was jack in the box. So we assume she left radio bar (the only bar open until 2am) then went to jack in the box in the corner of south foster and govt. from jack n the box she headed west down govt likely heading to the i10 on ramp to get on i10 east. at the RR crossing she encountered a train. It is unclear if she turned around to avoid waiting or if she turned around to get away from perp (she could have decided to get on i10 at Acadian or to take surface streets home. That’s what i would have done rather than wait for a train at 2am on govt alone.) The casings were on a block type of median which is raised above the street about 8 inches or so?? so we can assume shooter was on foot standing on this median. We can clearly see her passenger side window is blown out. We hear 12 shots fired in the audio and then screeching tires and then a crash, which we can assume is her vehicle. Her vehicle was found beside a large pole. Today Wbrz reported that according to the autopsy, 10 bullets hit her and that they were in her arm and chest. So I’m thinking the perp was a good shot.

So I’m hoping there’s security camera footage from Cajun electric lighting. They sell very high end fixtures. So they have to have security cameras. I’m also wondering if there would be fingerprints on the shell casings??? I don’t know anything about shell casings??? Just a thought…
Lastly, i think a reward is the best way to get someone to squeal. SOMEONE knows something. SOMEONE is acting strange or scared or has disappeared and money talks! I wish locals would set up a gofundme for reward money. I feel like it’s the best chance of finding the killer. My gut tells me he’s young and impulsive.

And I don’t know where this came from. I found it on another board, so I’m not sure who’s car is in the image. I think it’s a Google map image and it just so happens to be absolved car at the RR crossing. But the point of the picture is to show you where her car was waiting for the train to pass. & Where the casings were found in relation to where her car was found after the shots were fired. Her car was NOT found where the car is in this image. Her car was against that pole. So the current theory is that the shooter was on foot on that raised median. Allison was likely not paying much attention to her surroundings while eating fries from JACK in tge box waiting for train to pass with her car in park. She doesn’t see a Perp walking up to her car. He maybe says something or motions something to her. She throws her car into reverse in effort to turn around. He shoots her and she hits the pole

Seems like a "gang initiation" type of shooting to me, semi-random as in someone knew when the train goes through and that it is loud enough to somewhat conceal gunshots. I expect they laid in wait and Allison was just unfortunate enough to get stopped there with no other cars.

Does anyone ever expect to be killed in their car? As far as million dollar houses a few blocks away, they won't continue to be worth a million dollars unless their owners start exerting their influence to clean up.
The last time I was at the LSU campus was to see Taylor Swift in concert on May 22, 2015. It was everything fabulous and more! Never once did we stop in fear of anything but times have changed.

The Gang Initiation theory may be the best fit. Those who want into a gang must make a random kill? Why has the # of murders risen sharply in BR, LA? Is this a "gang" territorial thing?

What does everyone make of the fact that Allison was in the midst of making an U-turn? Perhaps to escape the train but what if, instead, she was trying to escape the killer and was barraged by bullets anyway?

Edited to add: My apologies @justwannahelp as I did not read your post about Allison attempting to flee the area until after my response posted.

That is the latest theory

We have a terrible mayor and our police force has been slashed. There is and always has been a gang problem but according to BRPD they initiate by killing members of other gangs. This is not something you ever hear about for a reason— it doesn’t REALLY happen.

We have a LOT of drive by shootings in bad areas of town and innocent bystanders are often killed in crossfire, but gangs are targeting people for specific reasons usually it’s just back and forth. The killing never ends. But they don’t kill RANDOM completely unrelated people on purpose. For example, lots of toddlers in the homes of the targeted persons are killed in the drive by gang shootings. That has been happening lately. :(

Back to Ali —people who work at the shed are Uber nice and chill. Like when you meet them and talk a while they are the type of people who afterwards naturally say “so glad to connect”. They’re just totally friendly and chilled. So i don’t think she was rude to someone at jack in the box.

& There’s no way she road raged someone at 2am all alone. It’s too risky for a girl to do that. That’s just flat out stupid. She seemed to have a good head on her shoulders.

Yes we now believe she was trying to escape the killer. :(

Wow, the perp is right next to her, the poor woman. I agree she was focused on eating her meal so she wasn't paying attention. With that many bullets being fired I don't think this was an attempted carjacking gone wrong or an attempted robbery. It was a gang initiation or just a thrill. Is there a reward offered?

Unfortunately some gangs do require new recruits to commit crimes.

Was there any fresh minor damage to her car (other than the bullet holes of course)? Although the opportunism of the noise from the train is very suggestive of premeditation its possible that in making a u-turn she bumped into someone else's car who got road rage from it.

Sound of gunfire captured on surveillance camera during LSU student's killing; roughly a dozen gunshots heard in new recording

(Thanks for the link @justwannahelp .)

In listening to the audio I hear 6 shots in very quick succession (the rest of the gunfire sounds are echoes, I believe) and then no more that a 1-2 second gap in time before the squealing tires. I was trying to determine if the gap was too short for it to have been only 1 person involved. i.e. was there enough time for the shooter to drop his weapon and slam down on the gas to peel away?

And to drive away that quickly, the perp's vehicle must have been facing away from the train. There wasn't a 'backing up' squeal followed by a squeal gunning forward. I don't know. I'm quite confused as to what the scenario was and where the perp's vehicle would have been.

I’m glad to hear that cameras are around.

Laws and enforcement rules for them are written and established by the state aren’t they?
Yes, true.

And now the inevitable "but"....

Local jurisdictions have an awful lot of autonomy on how they enforce state laws. Though laws regarding murder are pursued by all jurisdictions, enforcement of lesser charges can vary greatly from local jurisdiction to local jurisdiction.

Lax enforcement of lesser charges can create environments where murders are more likely to occur.

I'm sure those tires we hear squeezing are Allison's. As much as we'd like to believe being shot to death is just "lights out" unless the shots are carefully aimed, a person lives for seconds to minutes - even after being shot multiple times. The sound I'm hearing combined with the report of her being in "mid U turn" make me think someone stepped out from hiding and unloaded (sounds like a large caliber revolver to me). She realized she'd been shot and stomped the gas to make a U turn to escape before she lost her strength.

Could it be mistaken identity?
I think that is a very good possibility.

Six bullet holes in the car could indicate a "spray and pray" drive by attack following mistaken identity of the target- say a car associated with a rival gang or just a personal dispute.

In the end, I think gang initiation rituals centered solely on random murders are very rare, and perhaps even urban legends. Gang initiations requiring that the "prospect" commit a violent crime to further the gang's interests are another matter. This could include being ordered to make a poorly conceived attack on a badly identified rival.

It sounds like there's screeching tires/a crash, then a few seconds gap, then gunshots, and then i hear another crashing sound. Is that the sound of a crash at the beginning of the video?

Baton Rouge has a population of about 225,000, so 74 homicides in such a small city is extremely alarming! By comparison, Toronto, with a population of about 3,000,000, has had 47 homicides.

Yep, that is a pretty staggering murder rate.
