It's funny, I was just having this discussion. If the perp has been arrested before yes, by law, they are required to submit DNA. Hopefully they have a POI in mind and do not need to fall back on this.

Forensics & DNA are a good thing, Billiam.. After the Holly Bobo abduction the TN legislature passed the familial dna law which went into effect 01/01/2012. This will more than likely be the catalyst for justice in her case, IMO. All they need is a family members dna to nab a suspect.

Today, most jurors are suffering from the CSI Effect & expect forensic evidence, as we all have witnessed lately.
The dna tests have also exonerated innocent folks that were convicted & sent down the river due to circumstantial evidence & twelve people who were picked to judge who had the best attorney..

You know..the FEMA trailer thing is an idea. Anyone have any idea if there is security there?

If in fact the truck going north on University is the perp, that road brings you all the way near the trailers. HMMM....

If anyone needs to find it again and can't find charminglane's post here (or chicken fried's, just below it), I've also posted it in MSM links/Timeline, so it's there, too.

I'm sorry, I'm a newbie, and don't know to fix it... remove the wrong link from MSM links/timeline... can you help please?

I'm afraid to take the wrong link down out of photobucket because maybe a lot of people linked to it already, but maybe we can limit the damage,

Agreed. And if she thought she was being followed she might have chosen to cut down Brashear knowing there were traffic barriers just down the block (south).

i ride in this neighborhood all the time and actually did cut through them once because of a weird car. (the car happened to be a female i knew trying to catch up with me, but i didnt know it was her)

  • #225
I think she knew that she was being followed and that's the reason she went the way she did. If you look back a few pages, can't remember how many now, one of our posters went out and actually took the same routes, you'll see what I mean. Let me see if I'm able to find those for you.

I saw the videos. Thanks. I thought she may have taken that route for other reasons. If she was afraid or spooked, why didn't she stop at the gas station? Or did she get spooked after the gas station?

So in the most recent presser, LE is saying the car is a GMC 80s or 90s?? Where's chicken fried??? Is this possible??

Oldsmobile is a GM vehicle. Same as a dodge ram or jeep wrangler being a Chrysler vehicle. The way LE generalizes it by saying "GM" sucks! They shouldn't be so vague! Details are important!

Someone please clairfy the car. The poster made by one of our members mentions a different car than the one announced at the PC by LE:

Q: Details about the vehicles
A; Well, that's very good. The car is an older model, 80s or 90s GM-type of vehicle, 4-door, it's got bondo on the rear right quarter panel, it's very obvious. That vehicle should be able to be spotted by the public. One truck that turned on St. Landry street directly behind MS is a Chevrolet white Z71 four-door. That picture has been circulated. And of course the truck with the cover on the bed, believed to be possibly a GMC or Chevrolet, which came from the direction from which Mickey had ridden her bike where she was last captured on video, was obviously, a vehicle of interest for that reason.

I think she got spooked not very far from the gas station.

it could have been from behind her, after the circle k..so she didnt want to risk turning back. but in my situation i was coming the opposite way, from the darker part of the 'hood out to st. landry. i dont think i would have ridden into an area i knew was darker and less commercial.

Is there a way this poster can be the home page for Websleuths? It would update the information or add to what is currently being seen to new members.
Not sure what you mean. Wise thing to do is, ask a mod. Right now, Mickey's case is front and center on the WS homepage. Also, you could use, as your WS bookmark, your Subcribed Threads page, which would help keep in mind the existence of the other link. (Believe me, I often forget all about that and need a reminder it's there, and people are doing work to make it important.)

If the police can't even identify the car they're looking for accurately, what makes you think they putting any real effort in this case at all?

Thanks Foxfire. I do have to admit that the humor in some of the posts makes this a little bit easier to read sometimes.

Don't feel that way, they are doing the best they can, and I believe they are going to find those two vehicles, and soon. At least the car is distinct.

Just guessing here, but if they truly are overwhelmed with tips, they may view the car as low priority considering whatever other info they may have that we don't know about.

Which post # might that be?

I think they obviously are trying, I just think that they are overwhelmed and not used to this high profile a case. It does concern me about the car being identified improperly. It also concerns me that it was reported by another sleuther that a make up brush was found, called in a week ago, and sadly the police never responded to that tip either. I am not pleased to here that campus police collected it as evidence, I just hope it found its way into the right hands and proper chain of custody was followed. And if this is just what we are hearing, where else are they falling short. I hear of FBI involvement, but have yet to hear them speak, seems like they are taking the back on this case, and that is shocking, usually when they get involved they are in the forefront, even during the pressers...hmmmm
