I wonder how much of the private property in the Lafayette area is being searched. I went on some of the volunteer searches with and we were only allowed access to public property.
How are we back on the truck again? :floorlaugh:
Really, a possible answer to why the driver hasn't come forward is that, as people have said, they're out of town, or not a local, etc. I drive a pretty common vehicle as well, and I can tell you that if it was plastered all over the news of where I went last weekend asking for information about me, they wouldn't be getting it, because I have no idea and I wasn't visiting with anyone who would be like, "Hey...you drive a ____, were you on X street around Y time?" Perhaps I should go check the news for that place! :innocent:
That's my usual wishful thinking though. In this case, I honestly don't think that's the answer.
One thing I've found out while looking into another case - if a person is a contractor and sent out of town to work at a plant, sometimes the company will pay for a motel room for them in the city they are working.
Are there plants or anything like that in Lafayette? If the perp was working in Lafayette and staying there during the week, they would probably know the area fairly well. Maybe they live toward Baton Rouge and dumped the bike as they were going back home?
Are there any cheaper motels in the area where she was last seen?
Hmm. I just refreshed it again and the camera image still has that same time stamp on the bottom, and the photo is unchanged from around 4pm.Hello All :seeya:
I think they are parked maybe to preserve the location until they no longer need it. Does that make a s sense?
:lurk:
Don't know if this was posted, nor do I know if this was this exact location of the bike or just a general picture of the area.

There are also more pictures from Whiskey Bay to look at on The Advertiser's website.
And, in the world at large, Facebook is said currently to be down.

Ok, I tried to catch up, I really did, but going through everything was giving me a headache...A few things that I'd like to ask...
1--I left a few minutes early to pick up my daughter from dance class and I saw KATC and KLFY out near the Blackham Coliseum around 6:05-6:10. Was there anything new reported? I missed all of the news broadcasts tonight.
2--There were a lot of cars in the Lourdes parking garage. I don't usually travel this area in the 6 pm region, is that typical?
I'm planning on taking the day off tomorrow to search, and hopefully we'll find something! I also walked Brashear and Azalea on foot this evening to look for anything out of place and didn't find anything, so either LE has already thoroughly been there (most likely case) or there is nothing to be found.

I still remember my dad being asked to come in to the local PD for a voluntary DNA swab by the task force for DTL. It was very close to the end before DTL was finally caught but LE pulled vehicle registration for hundreds of males who were in the age range (and I'm sure other criteria- my dad happens to work in Baton Rouge and travels over DTL dumping spot daily). My dad did give a sample to help the police. Anyway... I'm wondering if something similar could be done for the registered z71 owners in Lafayette?
** ETA: I realize it's not very realistic to do so. Such a large task. So back to hoping someone does the right thing and comes forward.
Right. Some members on my search team were a little daring, going into yards and peeking in garage windows or through fences--during the day when most people were at work. MOST the awesome residents of Acadiana wouldn't put up a fuss about "trespassing" b/c they all want MS found, but, they could have gotten in hot water digging around where they weren't allowed to. I focused mainly on the street, looking for any small items that could have fallen off her bike or out of her backpack, in bushes near the road, on sidewalks, and around empty lots. But, it's not like the public has been allowed to go snooping IN people's properties, and LE will only do so with a warrant.
Wow, where did everybody disappear to?
