Its not that I don't understand why, its just that I doubt anything will come of it. JMO

IMO this was random. Maybe accident...maybe intentionally.

Then what do you suggest we do? Stop investigating?

It did have disclaimers on it. It's a fantasy representation/enhancement of the picture. The user "enhanced" (painted) in the details they saw so that we could see them too.

In that case, maybe the photo should come down? To me, that seems like painting Oldsmobile badges on the car

A white p/u truck that was 'abandoned' in a parking lot of a daquiri shop is being hauled off right now. The tow truck driver thought I was crazy but when I told him my hubby is LE I to,d pics for him to look at to see if it sustained any damage similar to hitting a bike. I'm in Lake Chalres, BTW

Can anyone answer that question?

Do most abductors rape in the vehicle they use or do they bring the victim to another location?

Is it a Chevy Z71 with 18" wheels? (correct description from LE, IIRC)

Unfortunately, techno-illiterate Dum-Dums like me do not understand the jargon.

I thought that 'enhanced' meant the photo was made more clear.

If details have been 'painted' into this photo, I believe that it should be taken down, in my humble opinion.

Can the police make out any sketch of these people in the truck? If I can see a burly headed black man and a person with a hijab on in the truck; perhaps the pic could be blown up even more and sketches could be made? I definitely see a light colored hijab. I definitely do not see the dog everyone keeps mentioning. I definitely see a black driver with a beard.

My next question: How many people see a muslim woman with a hijab on out at night after 2 am with a black man? Just seems next to nearly impossible.

Either this woman passenger is not there by will either or this is not a woman under the hijab; but just a cover up hoodie like others have suggested. I do think the face under the hoodie looks black also.

Thoughts?

I'm guessing I'm just blind.

The VOI had to have been following her from St. John because the Univ camera would have picked him up if he was headed southbound on Univ and took a right at St. Landry(the beat up old cars route). And it wasn't the eastbound white truck on St. Landry (despite what people say) bc we see the truck later heading north on University. And it didnt turn onto St. Landry after being northbound on Univ because it would be at an angle in the LCG photo. But instead it's in the far right lane.

So it is probable that it was following MS down St. John. But not that closely bc we don't see it in the pic of her on St. Landry. And it could only have followed her since she turned from Versailles bc the Mid South Bank camera on Versailles didn't pick it up.

That area is only a few block from the downtown bar district, a perfect place for a perv to stalk drunk unsuspecting women heading home. And it's right next to both courthouses and the jail. There must be cameras there. Have they checked the video from 1-2 am on all the cameras in that area for the VOI? Considering how efficient the perp was in terms of not leaving evidence, I would think he didn't just see MS and suddenly hatch this plan. He would likely have been cruising the area before that time.

Also, it looked like to me that the Mid South Bank camera had a twin pointed in the opposite direction from looking at it when I passed. If that's the case, it should have caught the VOI coming down St. John. Also, Gulf Coast Bank is on the corner of St. John and Congress. The VOI could be picked up on those cameras if that bank has any.

Jujst a thought. There's something white in the background of the original Versailles pic that looks like it could be a white truck. Could it have been parked, waiting? OTOH, that would have requires the perp to KNOW that MS would have taken Versailles instead of Parkside, so I guess I answered my own question. If the perp had stalked her and knew she was at Ryan St., and knew she would eventually get onto St. Landry, he must have been parked on Parkside, waiting.

It is a Chevy (how do you spell duelly?) with red writing on the side & big mud flaps. It has a huge dent & scratch on the hood near the grill. I took photos...hubby gets home after lunch.

I wasn't able to pop in yesterday, but have been thinking about Mickey, and keeping an eye open for her...that flashing blond hair, even tho it could be a different color are much shorter now. And a white truck is like an automatic look-see and a out of state license is a must second look.

My thoughts are she knew her perp because everything she was carrying was taken and no trace of an accident. Wheel damaged from being loaded for transport or when being disposed. LE found the guy interviewed by asking her friends who owned a Chevy Z71 in her immediate or peripheral group of friends.. or did some checking from her FB friends, etc, imo.

JMO, but no one would that did not know her would be tailing her and waiting for her to leave BW's just because they wouldn't know she would. Remember her and BW left by vehicle after they arrived by bike and then returned. If unknown perp was still following and waiting for her, at this point, then they KNEW she would leave again to bike home, or we have a very serious and focused whackadoodle who was stalking her...and maybe had been for some time.

JMO, IMO, etc.

Both keeponsearching and I both see eyes and a big round face in the back seat. The fcae takes up the whole windwo; if it is an animal, it is a big animal. IF MS and bike had to go in that back seat, the animal would have to be let out somewhere. That got me to thinking 'what if it is a dog' and what if an animal was found dead by the road recently or put in a kennel recently. I cannot seem to enlarge the LE photo on my computer and rotate to see if I see anything of interest. I am not trying to spread rumors. Just thoughts....

I have this type of truck. The back window are very big. For a dog to have a face as big as the window...I just don't think one that big exists.

:banghead:

No. Just focus elsewhere.

Thats the problem. Theres not a whole lot of facts and evidence to go on. The only thing we can do is try to pinpoint her exact route and last location so we can proceed from there.

If my child was missing, I'd be incredibly thankful for all of the people who are passionately trying to follow every lead and idea they can. I'm sure that if you didn't think it was important or relevant, you'd be focusing your efforts elsewhere.

If anything ever happens to anyone in my family - I'd want the WS community on the case.

We've frequently "enhanced" photos for the purpose of discussion. IMO, I see no problem with it as long as appropriate disclaimers are made (preferably rite on the photo). And also, as long as it isn't being presented as original/official.

The problems arise when posters copy just the photo (without the OP's disclaimers, and especially if the disclaimers are not on the photo itself) or assume that the photo is original/official. JMO.

That said, I'm not sure what the current rule is on that. So anyone can report the post and a Mod/Admin can handle it.

Chicken fried, yes, I have pondered this too. I traveled down Parkside yesterday and it was obvious he would have had a clear view of MS traveling toward him (other side of Versailles) from quite a ways back on parkside.

A.C.I. is going to check out the law office on university that has both front and back entrances (to parkside) to see if there is a camera.

I think every white truck in town is doing a double check; yesterday I drove around and saw three. One was in the medical offices on St Landry. The driver eyed me like " please do not look at me; move on". Lol. I was scared to be blocked in by it and kept moving. LOL.

poor innocent white truck drivers...

But we can't pinpoint the route unless LE releases more info.

How are any of us to get this info? Is a business going to hand over video or pictures to anybody?

Maybe I'm just totally insane in my assumption that LE is doing their job and has checked all cameras in the area. I've got no love for LE, but tha seems like the first thing they'd do. :waitasec:

I'm going back to just reading and not commenting now. :lurk:
