Okay, here are some findings about that convoluted white truck.

(easier with the video, but here goes)

I know we've had the discussion about the two truck photos in front of the LCG building.

I don't think it's the same truck do to the fact there is no Z71 sticker on that fender, but I digress.

After examining truck after truck, I've determined that this is indeed a Silverado. Why? Because if that shadow where the Z71 decal is speaking to me clearly (leave me alone), that decal is closer to the tire, on the rear fender...which in all of the trucks I've seen, is a Silverado. The Sierra's decal is closer to the taillight, not on the fender.

I'm also thinking this is a model short box, which would make it an external accessible four door.

I'm getting closer to 100% certainty about the year, but as it stands, 2007/2008 - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 short box trim, Z71 package.

I've also got a theory as to why this guy hasn't come forward (besides the fact that hedunit) How quick would the police be to blame and charge this guy? Pretty quick.

Still munching on the truck year.================================

[ brought over from the previous thread.]

I have wondered about that too. Why not come forward if that was your truck? I can see being nervous about it, but if you are innocent, wouldn't you have some kind of alibi to support your story? One would think that the driver would be able to explain where he was before and after the video caught him on that street, and what he was doing there.
In other words,if he was dropping off a friend or just getting off work, or coming back from a date, then he would have come forward already. I think the only reason that he would not come and and be interviewed is if he had something big to hide. jmo

Just for those discouraged with LE, a detective just came to my place of employment and inquired about cameras and surveillance footage. Unfortunately, we do not have cameras... But I'm posting this to let you know that there is LE working actively on this case.

Btw, my work is on Johnston st... Not sure if they are out of leads or if they have reason to believe she came down Johnston.

I think even if we find out if there are more cameras, it'll be a dead end. 1- LE asked business owners/ residents to check their footage, I'm sure people that close to the possible abduction/accident/crime scene checked. 2- What are the odds that an unknown camera location is discovered that STILL has the footage? How likely is it that these cameras are constantly recording and saving the video/stills? Because it was almost one full week after Mickey disappeared before LE released the photos from LCG, I think that could have resulted in the loss of other footage.

Or, LE does have way more than they are wanting to the public to know.

My concern really isn't the fact that they didn't get the camera footage, or that it might have already been recorded over. My concern is if there are ANY cameras in that area that may have been able to see something, such as the white truck going by. It may be a dead end now, yes. But, I would still like to know.

One thing I have noticed is a huge oversight by police in not continually announcing the date, time and location the truck was seen.

Mickey used to cut across a hospital driveway and trespass when coming up from St.Mary from the college area onto WB St. Landry... one guard stopped her and told her how unsafe it was to be out there at night, but she sassed the guard, "if it's so unsafe, then what are YOU doing out here at 2 a.m.?." Guard replies... "honey, we can go inside if we need to.." Mickey blew it off, "Whatever, " and rode away.

Guard is broken up about it.. wishing she could have convinced Mickey to stop doing it. As soon as they heard she was missing, the guards searched the towers up and down and swarms of Mickey's friends showed up and then the police showed up with dogs and even Segways for the parking structures, and searched every inch of Lourdes property.

BBM: But, do you know how he stopped her? Did he wave his arms or shine his flashlight on her or...? Because what worries me is...she did stop. Sure, you all can say 'but it was a security guard' but I am too leary of everyone and I ain't stopping for no one no how, security guard or not. It just makes me wonder, did she have a false sense of security and she would have stopped to talk to anyone...and the anyone in this case was the perp?
I am in no way meaning to infer the security guard did anything wrong.

It's telling to me that both volunteers and police swarmed that area right away.

I'm sure Mickey had seen the guards all the time. The guard probably said, "Hey! Stop for a minute." She was a good kid and so stopped to listen to the guard. I don't know this. Just conjecture.

That's me who says they owe me nothing but a resolution. But I'm not a local. In my backyard, I'd probably be all up in their business. Apologies for not trying to walk in your shoes. There's no excuse for that.

I'm really, really, reeaaallllyyyy hoping that the silence is designed to cause more than the casual observer to think LE's moved on.

I'm not local, either. I just have this thing about government employees, from congress to cops, being accountable to the people who pay them. Pressers are some degree of accountability.

The guard took the time to lecture Mickey about how what she was doing was unsafe.
Mickey probably recognized the guard as legit, and didn't feel unsafe stopping.

How close to the Taco Bell are you there?

I agree.. I can't say that I would stop for a security guard (male or female) at 2am- even if I were trespassing. A police officer? Definitely.

** Edited to add: I know that means nothing. Mickey isn't me, she may have felt safe enough, recognized the guard, etc.

I'm looking at the Google map and there is no shortcut from St. Mary to St. Landry through any kind of driveway at Lourdes. The only road would be Dunreath which ends in a drainage ditch. Lourdes is a series of interconnected buildings. I dont' see how she could take a short cut.

The fact that the guard was a woman also likely played a factor in her feeling OK to stop to listen.

I found multiple cameras today on Johnston that have yet to be checked by LE or the owners. Also some close to her home not checked. Working on seeing all the video today

But then that would leave open the question: why?

If it's an abduction, wouldn't you want that person alive?

She would still be alive when he abducted her. He would just knock her out with the bat/bar, etc.

He would kill her later.

I'm sorry, trying not to jump in here asking stupid questions...

One thing I remember was that there is a church near where she went missing. Is that the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist?

Maybe I've read too many thrillers, but I hope they've checked every nook and cranny of the structures around there such as this church. Bell towers, basements, cellars, etc. I'm not Catholic, but from some experience, it seems like doors at Catholic churches are more likely to be open at odd hours for mass and prayer, so a break-in wouldn't have to be observed.

Again, sorry if that's been covered ad nauseum in a previous thread. Haven't been able to read every post.
