Isabelle, it would be reasonable to conclude that if that was the WT VOI, LE would use RS(radio silence), or else every MSM van in town would be trailing the 6 cop cars & tow truck. Prolly with Chicken Fried & our resident PI A.C.I. close behind..

Praying that Chicken and A.C.I. are in hot pursuit!

This is current from KLFY FB page:

According to the DOTD : An accident shutdown most of I-10 East at Washington in Baton Rouge. NOW The left lane has opened leaving the right and center lanes blocked on I-10 East at Washington. Congestion has reached La-415 on I-10 East.

Which would mean if this tow truck is heading to BR it may well get caught in that congestion. May explain the high amount of escorts, somewhat.

I wouldn't think any old truck being towed would have police escorts even with the congestion. Would you? Dunno.

If they are coming to Baton Rouge, how long before crossing Whiskey Bay?

ETA: about 1.5 hours since first reported here.

Probably already passed it.

Are we sure about this sighting of a DWT being towed? I don't want to get my hopes up! I think I need confirmation before I will believe it.

Unless it were happenstance and the six cars were heading out for a late lunch together, it seems highly likely this is the WT.

I doubt it.

My coworker, on her way to work about ten minutes ago, saw a tow truck with a white 4 door Chevy with black handles.. They only thing that made her notice this was the six cop cars following the tow truck.

Just putting it out there....

Hmm. Hope it's THE truck.

May I ask... why would the tow truck with DWT be going to Baton Rouge? I must of missed something.

  • #1,311
I know this can't be right, but I feel like they waited until the family stopped the ground search

Yeah I don't think that's right.

I-10 East at Washington in BR, no congestion!

Gonna check I-12 cause that would be best for Crime Lab.

Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Highly irregular for a tow truck to be followed by a phalanx of LE cruisers. Something is surely afoot.

Also, to differentiate here:

The Louisiana State Crime Lab is located in Baton Rouge;
The Acadiana Crime Lab (a/k/a Acadiana Criminalistics Lab) is located in New Iberia.

Not sure what DWT stands for. If this is a truck that is considered evidence in this case, it could be on its way to state police crime lab in Baton Rouge.

I know. I should stop reading at work =\

Yeah tell me about it. Not easy.

I take the opportunity to declare that I will try really hard now to check this place twice a day only. And also I hope it's the last time I get excited about an unverified rumor. It's just so hard to be on the roller coaster all the time. How can P.I.s deal with that aspect of their job I wonder. Do they go to bed each nigh obsessed about their current projects?

I'll admit it. My hopes are up, way up.

I would not be surprised if we never hear about this again...(the towing of this truck...)
