I've been reading along since the Mickey went missing, and finally decided to make an account. I'm from Baton Rouge and had classes with Charlie at ULL. The past 3 weeks have been so emotionally draining, but I admire all of you sleuthers!

:welcome:

I'm glad you are joining us! I hope that you're hanging in there ok.

Yes. Finished is a strong word. I don't think I'll ever be "finished" with school, classes, training, ugh!!!
The more I think about it I am thinking about Doctorate!! I'll be in school forever!

I'm all for formal education but there's something to be said for life experience too. When combined, you have the best of both worlds.

Yeah, I agree. I think that is the goal for many programs.

PS sorry for the o/t, everybody!

o/t ~ Did you mention eating lutefisk not long ago? That cracked me up as not too many people would think of eating lutefisk! That includes me and I'm of Norwegian descent - ha!
--------
Fer sure, that was me, ja (did I spell that right?) Anyways, yes, I did mention lutefisk and white hotdish as being a calming gesture when everyone was getting upset about the DWT. It was a play on the investigators in the movie "Fargo." I used to live amongst those who liked to eat such things and noticed that they liked to make everything "nice." haha

snipped:

I'm intrigued by this part of your comment, can you clarify? Is your POI using high zoom tp lenses OR are you saying that what you observed via high zoom tp lenses made you suspicious?

He owns them

so he is taking pics of someone that is unawares, yes?

eta: maybe he just likes taking nature pics and not some other nefarious activity.... idk??

Indeed. I wouldnt be a good P.I if people spotted me easily would I?

This may seem off topic but it isn't totally:

How do you follow someone without them noticing?

Am I the only person who watches her rear view?

ETA, I also sometimes watch thru the windshield in case I need to watch where I'm going, or something like that. ;)

Regarding ACI's POI, bottom line is it sounds to me like more than enough reason to keep digging, not that you needed me to tell you that. Any one of many of his actions would be enough for me to raise an eyebrow. Driving around the area MS was at at 2am exactly a week later and never getting out of his vehicle? Not enough to say for sure but enough to make you go hmmmmm. Driving an hour outside of town to absolutely nowhere at that time of night and seemingly not doing anything of substance. Again, not enough to say for sure but enough to make you go hmmmmm. Lying about having done the above...a very strong hmmmmm. Searching on his own at WB the day before the bike turns up there. Not enough to say for sure but again enough to go hmmmmm. If it were just one of those instances I would probably look into it but when you put ALL those instances together along with some of the other things ACI mentioned and it would certainly make me want to take a serious look.

No, but that's a really loooong time not to notice a tail at night? I'm intrigued by such masterful ability in the boonies, at night, w/ poi never seeing you?! Amazing, I'm not easily impressed. I live in the sticks & I think I'd notice somebody following me to the bayou.

A.C.I., can you offer any info into your other two POI? :) Peobably not, but it couldn't hurt to ask! You're giving everyone more hope than LE at this point, just knowing that SOMETHING is in the works and being looked at is comforting, IMO.

I just realized I'd make a terrible PI - I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt:

ACI's POI:
1. The guy has a telephoto lens because he is keeping an eye on the neighborhood; he's helping to protect any future abductions.
2. He went driving that night on a mission to look for Mickey, but because he's mentally unstable, he didn't really search. Just drove.
3. He went driving because Mickey's disappearance brought on insomnia because of his own daughter's disappearance.
4. He lied because that's sometimes our first line of defense. Especially if he's a bit paranoid and doesn't want to be wrongly accused of something.

But all that doesn't negate the fact that SOMEONE is responsible for what happened to Mickey. Short of a UFO abductor (who doesn't do bikes) or the Rapture (and I'm still here so it can't be the rapture ha ha), something "earthly" happened to her.

Well, here is my personal input from being a violent crime victim and having PTSD as a result. Certain triggering events will cause you to have panic/anxiety attacks.

The driving in circles could be the result of obsessiveness, anxiety, etc.

Also, if he knew he was being followed, that could cause additional anxiety, IMO.

Not every mental health professional understands what victims of violent crime have gone through, especially if they never experienced it themselves.

Okay, here's the deal. The police have video, and these shots we received and have been puzzling over are still images from that video. Someone called LE last night and verified that Mickey is NOT under the truck.

I understand that people don't want to discount any theory until proven otherwise, but I think that LE saying she's not there kind of discounts it, no?

LE is not going reveal any details to anyone that is not on their team. Just to prove this, I had a friend call as well. They told him that they have not discounted any theory. He is a federal officer but not in the area and not involved in this case. They are aware of this speculation and would not comment specifically either way. They definitely did not say that her bike is not under the truck.

He has a good 13 years working in federal investigations and also can see that something is going on in this pic. And, feels that it may be the only pic that shows such detail of the truck. He also said that it may not be a video camera that is pointed in one direction...that it moves from side to side and only caught glimpses of that view. Makes sense to me. After all, why would it only be pointed at that one spot? The timing makes sense.

And, for those that are completely closed to the idea...how do you explain what is seen? For those that keep discounting this theory because they cannot make out the photo's... Try. And, the light under the truck is not on the other photo's. There is a reflector light in the other lane but that is the only photo that shows a light in that spot.

Personally, I think PI's are an invaluable resource to any investigation. Less based and more time to focus, no red tape. Many years ago one practically saved my life by tracking a stalker that was threatening me. Unfortunately too many policeman don't feel the same and may or may not provide them with accurate info. Guess they feel like they don't want to be shown up!
