I think we're looking at the wrong picture. I think I've been spending too much time MobyDicking this truck.

After further review of previous pictures, does this look like a bike to you?

Now that I do see

Isabelle, there is one thing about her identity that has always bothered me that has never been addressed to my satisfaction.

We have two LE-released photos of who we have been told is Mickey. We have countless analysis of the pics and the pixilation including enlarged, animated, negative-ized, highlighted, circled, but ....

Where are the lights on her wheels and/or pedals? And for those who work with video analysis, where are the digital signatures for those light sources?

I see the lights clearly in the St Landry pic, including on the wheel. On the Versaille pic, I see the headlight.

IMO whoever made Mickey disappear is very intelligent and organized or damn lucky, or both.

After this amount of time I can not understand why le would not release more info, pics of better quality. In NOLA they released the video of the POI's and had them the next day. Of course we probably do not have a video of the POI.

Anyway, is le being silent for a reason? Some strategy? I hope so. If they do not have good reasons for no updates that is crazy! Surely they have something!!!!!
If their silence is a strategy I can understand, but it has been a long time now and the silent strategy does not seem to be working.
IMO

I'm not following this:

In 2001, after two decades and considerable improvements in technology, Gastelle's DNA was entered into a national database, NBC reported. The same year, Gastelle's family collected another relative's DNA in an unrelated case, leading investigators to positively identify the missing woman's body last month -- 11 years later.

Are they saying that the DNA of the skeletal remains was entered into the data base and then years later a relative of the victim was also entered in and through familial DNA they discovered the identity of the remains found in 1982?

There is a thread for this in "Unidentified". I don't know how to link. It says "MATCH". Websleuthers were responsible helping to make the match. Great job on their part and interesting story.

Holy crap. If this is indeed her, that gives us one more minute. The time stamp is 1:49!

If you enter BayouBecky and youtube in search, you will find the videos on youtube.

What videos are you talking about?

bbm. http://findmickeynow.com/gallery/albums/images-from-lafayette-police-department/st-landry.jpeg You can see her headlight and one light source near the back wheel or pedal. Maybe she only had one blinking light on her back wheel and one on the front, and they alternated, and the still just caught this one? I was always assuming she had more lights on the wheels but maybe not.

Yes, I see the headlight and the light on the back wheel, but I don't know who it is riding the bike with 100% certainty.

OT: I feel your feelings, as
I be one of those posters about Dana... there was a show about her on one of ID channels (can't remember which) - she was horribly and horrifically brutalized and raped.
Her skull was partially exposed and she was covered with bite marks and scratches when she was found clinging to life and suffering all afternoon long.
She was found five miles away in rural Waawaa by Ida Smith, there was no phone/electricity, and confusion and difficulty in getting rescue/medical help to her...
http://karisable.com/crdanai.htm

Sadly, I feel Mickey is a similar victim to scum-of-the-earth who just happen to riding around and see a beautiful person riding a bike.

Yeah, I read all about it. Terrible incompetence and wasting of precious time. She was such a cool and beautiful girl.

And, the state of Hawaii makes me sick with their refusing to get rid of statutes of limitation on violent crime and kidnapping.

THIS has always been the TRUCK that I have QUESTIONED! This truck here fits the description of the one that was towed on 6/4 from a daiquiri shop near McNeese in Lake Charles. The person that took pics of the truck said it had right, front bumper / grille damage and some sort of sticker (like maybe a Harley sticker) in the back window. It is a Texas Edition (Like TP described she was picked up in and taken to Walgreens)...

It could be a bike but then again???? When I saw this particular picture, I was wondering why it would be released. It could be that LE knows that is Mickey on her bike and these people may have seen her.
I want to win the lottery so I can make sure the street cameras in our town have good quality images. These are the crappiest to try and clean.

Going back to the blinking lights thing. This says "small ovular lights on the spokes" which makes it sound like more than one on each tire. Of course I don't know who gave them this info. But on this link is the pic that the search parties were shown initially and the same pic used on findmickeynow.com (black seat as opposed to the gold seat that some recent posters are talking about--we were told glittery gold handlebars, not seat. I know there is another picture floating around of a similar bike with a gold seat and different gold handlebars, but neither of these were actually MS's bike, just similar ones they used for examples of what to look for. To my knowledge, the only pics of MS's bike include her sitting on it, so we can't see the seat. But we were told the seat was black. If anyone has confirmed it's not, I stand corrected. Doesn't really matter since the bike was already found, though).

Isabelle, I'm not trying to quash brainstorming by any means but LE and the family has stated that's Mickey on her bike. The family said they had seen the video and could tell it was her by her mannerisms.

Or maybe LE didn't see it.

The guy at the first gas pump is looking directly at the truck like SOMETHING caught his attention...

What is it?

It's a portion of the inside of the truck that Island Hopper posted on the previous page. If you look closely, it looks like a light skinned man with short dark hair and glasses looking back. His ear is to your right on the screen in the center of the photo. He appears to be wearing a blue shirt.

And do you have access to those pics? We were told by LE that the VOI is a z71. We don't know if they were able to clearly make out z71 stickers from the video, but obviously something led them to believe it was a z71. The emblems they use vary by a number of factors: year, package, etc. A Silverado Texas Edition z71 here: http://www.vernonautogroup.com/web/new/Chevrolet-Silverado-2500HD-2012/975934/?condition_id=10425

BUT LE has not specifically said Texas Edition; only z71. It's hard to say if they did know it was Texas Edition they would reveal that; sure it would help narrow it down for the general public, but then again, they may have reason for wanting to give a more vague description.

If you have access to those pics, please post them. Maybe you can find out which daiquiri shop it was towed from, get info on where it was towed, and then ask for more info, if they'll give it to you.
