CPSO LOOKING FOR MISSING MAN

Lake Charles – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing man, Taylor A. Mallett, 24, that was reported missing earlier today from his home in Welsh. When Mallett left home at approximately 6:00 a.m., he stated he was headed to work in Westlake, but never arrived.

Mallett’s car was located, abandoned, near Galley Road and Joe Breaux Road in Hayes. CPSO detectives later located the keys to his car in a wooded area near where his car was found.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mallett. If anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.

I wonder if his car broke down? But why would his keys be left behind? Unless he was frustrated, and threw them away in anger? Or did they drop out of his pocket?

The last known location in Hayes, based on google maps, doesn't appear as though it would be a normal path of travel from Welsh to Westlake...it's southwest of Welsh approximately 15 miles. It's also concerning they found his keys in a wooded area.

Out of gas -- but finding the car keys would seem to negate that, IMO.
A sudden dis-orientation or sickness? Kidnapped or worse? Self-harm? Someone picked him up and...
Hoping he is okay, and hoping LE is doing what they can.
