I took a screengrab of his page but as I am not a member I don't know what else of his profile there is to see.

Is local media covering this angle? Hopefully some journalism major is paying attention.

I thought I might like to see that movie, but not now. I'd be haunted by thoughts of Mayci and Jillian, and all the other innocents enjoying themselves, unaware their world was about to careen off the track.

I thought about that too, and I meant no disrespect earlier when I said I would like to see Trainwreck this weekend. And I respect anyone who chooses to avoid the film now.

My POV is much like it was right after 9/11 - if we change our lives by reacting to fear, the bad guys win. If everyone stays away from that movie, then the shooter got what he wanted. I don't think that's what his innocent victims would want. IMO

On CNN, Wolf Blitzer: local neighbor of Housers said he ran for local political office in Columbus Georgia. His father was a local politician.

He bounced from job to job. Had mental issues. Neighbor never saw him have any violent behavior. Is friends with his daughter growing up.

He lost his home about 90 days ago and was in financial distress.

A time to mourn, but I'm sure in time people will feel some comfort in laughing, doesn't matter at what or where, it's the human spirit, but these two teachers' sacrifice and their loss could not be diminished by it, it seems to me.

As per Chief Craft, the shooter/murderer "lived" at the Motel 6 on North University...He would have blended right in at the location. Motel room had wigs and items that could have been used as a disguise. LE is still processing the crime scene. The carpeted walls are presenting a challenge in the search for bullet holes. Also shooter emptied the magazine and dropped a second magazine in the lobby. He picked it up, reloaded and then shot himself. LE was there before he could escape. Police station is very, very close. Surveillance video @ the theatre showed him purchasing a ticket and entering. Nothing that would have raised concerns. Car had switched license tag and was parked near the exit door for quick access.

One news article (sorry I can't link) stated that his former wife had to remove weapons b/c of his mental health issues. She feared for her safety.

I love my country and I'm a proud American and veteran. But I live in a foreign country and when people ask me about this and think I might be able to explain I practically break down because there is no rational explanation I can think of. I'm at a loss and feel ashamed. These shootings frighten me and anger me and hurt my heart.

Fox News is reporting that Westboro Baptist Church will picket the funerals of Mayci and Jillian. Apparently the church (using that term loosely) failed to do its research. I'm from here. We are a gun-loving and gun toting community. I'm sure most homes have more guns/rifles then people and many of those weapons aren't registered. I believe that our communities will be awaiting Westboro Baptist. We're Cajun Strong!

bessie I apologize to you again. I didn't connect the geographical dots. Sometimes it's easy to be philosophical when sitting on the left coast.

I also wanted to agree with you FHG, about this country. When you think about it, the Unites States was created by the gun. The march west across rough terrain, encountering and decimating native peoples and animals would never have happened if the white European settlers hadn't carried guns.

The irony is, those WB idiots would probably picket the shooter's funeral too. And I look forward to seeing the community stand up to those bigots.

Legal analyst on CNN says since Aurora he never attends a movie theater without bringing a concealed weapon (he lives in GA where this is permitted). According to the website for the Grand Theater weapons are not allowed inside theater (is this by this State law?). I wonder if the fact that the Theater was a "no gun zone" made it a soft target (similar to the recruiting center shootings).

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought I remember this theatre having metal detectors at the door?
