Normally, if the offences are separate and unconnected the sentence ill be consecutive.

I suspect that would be the case here.

I believe that MS has also been charged with committing an indignity to a human body which I would assume he will be convicted of. The maximum penalty for that is 5 years imprisonment which would likely be consecutive to his life sentence and certainly wouldn't help his parole chances.

I don't see evidence here so far for M2 or even manslaughter for MS.

Has he? I missed that if so, I assumed the Crown hadn’t charged that deliberately because it invites a compromise verdict if the jury is unsure about murder. If it’s murder or nothing it can benefit the Crown because psychologically it would be hard to let Smich off with nothing. It’s a gamble with a weak case though.

it's the events surrounding it, the people, being on trial etc. It's not easy, at all. I'm just saying, it's a lot to deal with and memories are fluid.

Imo because DM was with CN then and wasn't able to keep contact with LB so he asked AM to do it, makes sense since he had just given his blessing as well.

So helping to get the gun, putting DM and Isho together, the texts that indicate they are planning something and then adding his confession to the guys in his garage and rap, COULD be enough to prove the had a hand in the murder? Plus the phone pings which puts him at Maple Gate the night LB is murdered (allegedly)?

This subject could turn into a huge debate.
Trauma, ptsd could be associated, short term memory affected, etc. There's a magnitude of studies that touch on how traumatic events are processed differently within individuals.
I'm certainly not taking her side with this one though...imo, she hasn't finished the chapter in this book. But, that is for her to live with and own.

Yes, it could be enough to support a conviction, but personally I think there is still too much room for reasonable doubt.

I could be wrong. Honestly I just assumed that they would have been charged with that since it seems like a no brainer to me.

I haven't been able to find anything saying that they were though.

I think the evidence for MS’s conviction is there, but I worry that the prosecution blew their thunder way to soon and then ignored Smich’s Involvement for weeks on end. Then seemingly saved their most mediocre evidence for last.. Last week and this have been extremely anticlimactic imo. The shock and revulsion of the first few weeks has begun to wear off even for me after repeated exposer and little to no new details. And I believe they are both guilty as sin. Very poor job by the prosecution unless they have a few bombshells to finish off with imo

Smich as a whole, just seems as likely to go along with getting Subway or McDonald's as he does with committing murder and clean up afterwards. Just a "whatever, man" type of guy.

I mean... DM having a picture of a body sized object wrapped up in a tarp, human bones in an incinerator on his farm, the victim’s phone pinging the cell tower closest to his house and having her personal belongings is actually a really strong case, IMO. At least for DM.

I do think the trial seems to be rushed a bit, but “no real evidence” doesn’t seem to be true at all.

I'm very curious about the testimony r.e Noudga's summer job as a camp counselor and the phone thing. Kinda grosses me out to think about her dealing with kids in any manner. JMO

I have said it before and I will say it again 'how did this group of morally bankrupt losers all find one another?" Between the group of chums that went on "missions" to the associated girl friends, partners, parents, employees, there were so many in DM's circle interacting with one another who seem to lack empathy or conscience. Destroying evidence, stalking people, planning robberies, falsifying evidence etc. It is frightening to know that most of them walk amongst us and only 2 are behind bars.

Does the incinerator testing that he actively took part in and made suggestions about qualify? Why were they testing an incinerator if not for murder?
