And is anyone else saying ‘Mark who?’. I hope that he doesn’t slip through the cracks in all of this

Nobody is ever going to forget seeing that horrendous picture of him grinning in a celebratory manner, in front of a huge burning animal incinerator, holding the seven foot rake. Nor are they going to forget that picture of what was likely Laura's body wrapped in the blue tarp. His smug satisfied smile while he " rapped away " about ashes laying on stone that were once a girl, is so sickening that I don't think the jury will ever be able to forget that monster ! There is no doubt in my mind they will both get Murder 1 in this trial too. IMO

LOL. Hardly. Dungey was effective in the TB trial with his strategy to be very vocal. He is just as effective for his client with his silence in this trial. Let's review this after the closing arguments.

MOO

Effective? I'm sorry is MS doing 25 years or not? And to allow MS to testify lol old man is a weak lawyer

So far DM's defense has been

One hour of texts of him complaining he is too tired, and not getting proper sleep. Is this to put doubt in the Mattress purchase on the 4th? Seemed to be far from complete on what he was trying to accomplish?

I believe he is trying to discredit the text message he sent on July 4th at 6:45PM to Ish: "any word? I didn't sleep last night, can feel the crash coming."

And the text he sent to CN at 10:20PM on July 4th: "I just got in, haven't slept in 2 days. Got lots a loot though! Scooped you a little present along the way." (1/2)

I believe the crown will have to leave exactly what you have done a very good job at summarizing for the end of their closing. If DM can't muster up realistic alternatives for his defense, it will be MS's involvement that has to be left fresh in the minds of the jury. DM is at this point as slam dunk for M1. MOO

I think he'll call Ace Venture pet detective next and expect them to testify that they borrowed Justin Biebers pet monkey and forgot to return it and accidentally needed to dispose of it.

WOOPS

Ahh you had to bring Ace Ventura into this, LOL

MS is beyond dumb. After DM got arrested he had around 2 weeks to get rid of the ipad and the duffle bag. Why would you not do that? Lol seriously. Your accomplice is arrested for murder and you're just chilling watching price is right? Lol.

As stated, a more qualified expert gave a report but he wasn’t used, why? Maybe cuz his opinion matched better with Dr. Rogers and was useless for DM? So DM went with the less qualified, much younger guy that is still leaning. That was only initially asked if they were deer bones and nothing else. So that’s kind of like a “hey, look at that unicorn shape in the clouds” but you’re the only one that sees it till it’s pointed out....blue circle in second pic sent to MR R! Good try though DM....clap hands and a tiny Whoot for tying!

Dr Scott Rufolo, a defence witness called by Millard, is an expert in Zoo archeology. Examined photo of objects burning in Millards incinerator. Says they are bones, possibly human, but more likely deer, can't be certain, blurry photo.

I think putting MS on the stand was the best chance he had to save MS and put the blame on DM. A lot of people thought he was telling the truth and maybe he didn't know DM was going to kill TB (I didn't believe his testimony for a second). In the closing argument, I think everyone realized that he was all in on TB's murder when the Crown told the story and tied all the pieces together. But many people were sympathetic to MS when he was on the stand.

In the very least he should have told MS to say he threw the gun in the lake. This whole story about the mystery forest made MS like a complete liar.

And DM was the genius?

He wore a short sleeved shirt to a murder displaying his "ambition"
He put the Truck in the Hangar and let his employees see it
He called his body shop to do an emergency paint job on the truck while it was all over the news
He preferred to text, which were easily retrieved. MS wanted voice calls.
He had the keys to the truck on his key chain.
He wrote letters to help the crown.

He texted CN about getting LB out of their lives.
He texted ISH that the gun would be a "dirty girl"
He took a photo of the tarp
He put "barn smell test" for july 7th on his calandar
He googled "Cremation temp required" around the time LB disappeared

He bought a animal incinerator without a realistic use for it

....... and he thinks he can defend his "genius" client.

MOO

Well so far the crown has made this guy look utterly useless and unprepared. No notes, an expert in his field with more than 40 yrs experience in his field couldn't identify them, made it appear DM as shopping around to get an answer he wanted to hear, and his estimates are very broad by his own account.

That was a big mistake by DM.

If you get a crappy report from an expert you throw it in the garbage and then seek out a different expert.

What you don't do is send the crappy report to your new expert which then makes it admissible and allows the Crown to use your own crappy report against your new witness.

Very shoddy 'lawyering' by DM.

Agreed. MS is an idiot in so many ways. DM is a good talker and talented at manipulation (as many sociopaths are), but he has atrocious spelling and grammar, and I agree with your earlier comment that his narcissism, god-complex and his feeling of invincibility caused him to do a lot of dumb things along the way (thankfully - for the sake of justice)

I think he actually did bury the gun somewhere in a forest. There are lots of wooded areas around his mom's house and he didn't really have any transportation besides his bike...and Millard who was not available for obvious reasons. I don't believe that he has forgotten where he buried it though, and I don't think the gun stayed there long. Too valuable too dump in a lake. I bet it was returned to Ish as DM had promised. MOO
