If LE would have wired Tony up and had him meet with anyone it would have been Casey, not Lee.

Perhaps LE tried that and then JB stepped in and stopped the visit, like he did with the family visits. At that point maybe LE thought their next best option was a meeting with LA.:waitasec:

That part of the conversation seemed to me like LE and TL were trying to keep something off tape. It was a long time ago, i will listen again

I remember that too, windy. It definitely happened. Didn't they even say something to the effect of reimbursing his cost?

LE could ask one person to wear a wire. Its done almost EVERY time you have an agent undercover, or an informant, or something like that. You just need a warrant.

I first thought that maybe when LA went to TLs house that first night (July 15th), something funky happened- I was leaning towards LA saying something weird to TL. If TL told LE that during initial interviews, LE could have gotten a warrant and asked TL to speak to LA again- especially if LE thought LA might be conspiring to destroy evidence or something. They couldn't do much just on TL's word, so they'd want concrete evidence (like a recorded conversation) before they acted.

IMO it probably ended up harmless- at least not incriminating for LA/TL, because LE would have acted by now and they wouldn't release this.

I think I remember this, too. It sounded a little odd at the time. I recall being puzzled by something at the time and I think this was it. I could be wrong, though.
Whether LE arranged the meeting or one set the other up, we should get to see these. The media will be clamoring for them. Either JB thinks this will help her case or he's going to have more damage control to deal with when this gets to trial. I'm banking on the latter.

Is this part of LA conducting his "own" investigation? Do you think that he's been working with LE all along? Sigh. Nothing surprises me anymore. Every time I think I've got something figured out, they throw us a curveball.

Remember when LE was speaking to TonE and it sounded like they wanted him to do some kind of investigation (or something)? Do you think they had him speak with Lee and taped it? TonE had already spoken with Lee when Lee came to the apartment and retrieved Casey's things there...

Speculation:
Maybe LE played BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE and told both TonE and Lee (individually) that they were helping with the investigation ("Hey man, help us find out what this cat was doing..."). That way both parties would have consented thinking they were "helping".

And another thought. That article says DVD's, so the meeting between Lee and TonE was on video, not just a wire tap.
