I think he would be ok with it...for a short while ... Kinda like a wake ...you share memories of that person and that is what people are doing. They will be taken down soon.Its people way of grieving for him.Now, if people were downloading and selling the music that's just wrong.
I feel like he left no one in charge cause once he was gone it didn't matter anymore.
He knew he was going on to bigger and better things .
He was very strong in his faith.
People are sharing their love for him.

With all the non released music that was said to,have been in that vault they absolutely had to jump on it.
Not saying I think Tyka had pure intentions.,,but they are estimating two egenerations of unreleased music was in there..,,that makes me happy to know that our grandkids will still have some good music !

I was posting about her filing that Prince didn't have a will.Sorry I wasn't more clear. I try not to judge,but that seems a bit quick. IMO
It could be that she was acting on the advice of an attorney.

Agreed. All the TV stations are playing his hits and I guarantee his estate isn't getting royalties for it. Also we do these for all the musicians and actors who have died recently. Do you think Alan Rickman's estate cared that his movie clips were shown??

I, too, am torn apart by Prince leaving us so soon. I'm more of a reader here on WS, but I've been here a long time. I'm 42 years old. Prince in the 80's and 90's ....I cannot say how much he defined me (and my mom...she had to listen to it too).


His lyrics...so powerful.


Something I thought of today while listening to Darling Nikki---He goes to her castle...lots of devices...and his lyrics say that "his body will never be the same"...

Could be true....

According to TMZ she went the day after the memorial. That seems a bit soon to me,but I agree one shouldn't wait months.

It is unfair for TMZ to judge Prince's relatives at this time - IF there is no will, then Tyka has acted responsibly. -imo.

I agree! Jeez, I was actually discussing it with friends of mine who are also Prince fans and we were like..."the vault, someone needs to guard the vault " lol ( before it was handled legally ) Not to mention there are certainly still monetary issues that need to be handled..employees that are due a paycheck etc.
With no one left in charge something had to be done ASAP
Tyka did what she needed to do .

Ha ! I was listening to that one today as well.
My 24 yrnoldmis rcovering from a couple of ankle surgeries and just starting to get around.
I have informed him that tomorrow we are going to the theater to see Purple Ran on the big screen.
Quite sure I will embarrass him by either my crying , singing , or dancing
By the way , most of the AMC theaters are holding it over thru Tuesday and tickets are half price for all screenings .

Just curious , do you have mixed feelings on the whole Sheila E taking charge and saying the music in the vault should not be released cause if Prince wanted it to be it would have been ?
We have heard him in interviews for years speak of someone releasing it after his death .Also they were not that close in recent years , her book even states that one reason they quit playing together was musical differences...
Don't want to offend anyone, but I'm skeptical on this one big time !
And now that he's gone she comes out with the big reveal that they were engaged at one time ?
Hmmmmmmmm ?
