Isn't is great ...ill try to fix the link ...it definitely brought a smile to my face ....especially the very beginning....
Sooooooouuuuuuuul train lol
Prince and Mayte were beautiful together ...I watched the Oprah interview with them right after the death of Gregory yesterday ...so incredibly sad, they were so in love and Prince was so cute ....I truly feel they were soul mates and that tragedy tore them apart.
I never saw him look at a woman in public like he did Mayte . She makes no secret of the fact that she never got over him.
He wrote some beautiful music for her .Im thinking , how does one move on from that ?
The true reason they parted ways is so very tragic.

I also watched that video of Prince and Mayte on Oprah this morning. Yes, they seemed truly in love and I think their son's death was just too much. I had read that he would no longer sing The Most Beautiful Girl In The World because Mayte wasn't there to dance to it...

....so tell me...he never had anything in place to secure his estate for his family? (I mean Mayte & his son...who died)

Apparently not...
So sad...

Re the Oprah video, was he not just the cutest when they were talking of their love being forever and he got all shy and put his head down ? Made me so sad for how things can go so tragically wrong .

Cubbeegirl and BUF,
I had every Prince album, cd and video that was released from 1984 up until I moved out of state a few years ago. I started that collection when Purple Rain was top on Billboard (1984). I could only fit so much in my SUV to move, so I gave the collection to my son. Boy was he happy!
Have you ever listened to his song Sex In The Summer? If you listen to that track, you will hear the actual ultrasound of their child's heartbeat. Listen to the entire song if you can. You can really hear it good around the middle of that song.
That song is on the Emancipation album. Also, the song title was supposed to be named Conception, but it was released as Sex In The Summer instead.

It is indeed all too strange for the reasons you cited. He was seen by a doctor only a week before which adds another level of strange to me.
Prince had a Physician standing in the wing of the stage during his concert in Atlanta prior to coming here (Illinois) for an emergency diversion.

Is Capricco Caesar (Jordan Nelson) the son of Prince? He toured with him.

No, that is not his son. Prince's only son died as an infant from a rare disorder.

Any speculation about when we will find out (or will we?) cause of death? It's driving me crazy. I read that the county ME guarantees tox results by 3 weeks, but that seems like an eternity. And that doesn't mean a published cause of death would be immediate even at that point.

I just can't wrap my head around Prince OD'ing from opiate meds (pills from Walgreens if that's true) in an elevator. It's just too strange. OD victims are usually found in bed, sitting down, etc. They don't typically suddenly crash while "in transit" (IMO/IME).

Something else had to have been going on. But he was seen riding his bike a day or two before? How sick could he have been if he was out riding?

It's all too strange. I'm not suggesting any kind of nefarious murder plot or anything of that sort. But medically, this is a strange set of circumstances. I could see a more sudden collapse/heart attack/seizure if cocaine was involved, but I haven't even heard of any speculation about that, and it doesn't seem like he was into "recreational" drugs.

It is all very strange and diving me crazy as well. I am no medical expert, and definitely have no inside information, but it occurred to me that when my ex had his heart attacks the doctor told him point blank that the stress that he had put on his heart during his addiction was a contributing factor..i don't know the extent of Princes use /abuse of pain meds, but I have been thinking that as far back to when he was married to Mayte and before we have heard how much of a workaholic he was and how he never slept , now, I know that many people that are workaholics end up having heart attacks and some don't survive and some have to radically change their lifestyle.
So, I'm wondering if maybe he didn't just drop dead of a heart attack or something such as that ?
Or could the reported overdose the week before have stressed his heart ?
I've had a couple of friends who have just dropped dead of heart attacks at relatively young ages. One was walking back from fireworks on the 4th if July and just dropped dead walking down an alley with friends and his two young boys ,
Plus we don't know if there is a history of anything as such in his family.
I don't know, it's all just rambling and speculation on my part for sure...
I just am still struggling with this...and I thought Bowie was bad... At least we found out why and that he knew and was prepared for it.
Not even going to express my last thoughts last night as to who I said to myself...please don't let it be -------
Next.
In retrospect, a very good friend /client of mine had her husband just die of a heart attack sitting in a recliner watching television. When she got up the next morning to go to,work and went to touch him and tell him to go to bed he was already cold and he was in his early 50's....

2016 ....... Why you wanna treat us so bad ?

That's an old rumor that has recirculated. His mother is Cat who use to be in Princes band as a back up singer and dancer.

Yes ! I remember that well, and he talked about it in the Oprah interview. Strange , he talked as if his son were still alive when in fact he had already passed. I remember it was almost as if he and Mayte just could not accept the reality of it :-(
I lost all my music collection in a house fire two years ago..I had pretty much all of it as well :-(

The elevator is super odd to me too

Why? Perhaps the elevator movement caused him to feel dizzy, so he sat down on the floor, passed out and died. I had a friend who died quietly sitting upright on the sofa in her living room one morning. Her heart gave out. In another case I know of, a younger man died while on a smoke break from work - sitting on an outdoor bench. It turned out he had an infection that had gotten into his blood. Nobody, including him, ever thought he was that sick.

--------------------------------------------------------

Some of the stories being written are almost funny they are just so far from true. You'd think the writers would do just a little bit of research - but they don't. Like AS IF last Thursday "the family got together to decide how to divide up the estate".

Then there is this from the above linked article:

"The six-time Grammy winner’s family attended a court hearing in Carver County, Minnesota, Monday morning in the hopes of reaching a resolution on the deceased singer’s assets, but with no will in place it seems the judge is struggling."

It sounds as if "family members" actually think they are going to have input on what happens to the estate. They are not going to have input. The judge is not struggling. The judge will follow the law. Period. The laws are very clear.

Sometimes even rich and famous people die without a will. Remember Patrick Swayze? Died in 2009 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He died without a will. In her book, his wife said he never brought up the subject of a will and she was not about to. So there you go. She got everything per state law, but some of his relatives were unhappy that they had not been left houses they had lived in for years. I believe the wife later - and quite generously - gifted the houses to them.

So, the crazy dreamer in me wants to believe the elevator was symbolic..."Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down? Oh no let's go!"

I like the thought of Prince deciding on his own terms that it was time to let the elevator bring him down.

He was clever and strong willed enough that I could see him doing it for the irony! I hope he didn't take his own life, but Prince did like to do things on his own terms. Maybe his pain had become more than he could bear.

I am also thinking the elevator was a Prince move, but I do NOT think he took his own life. He had been terribly sick for at least a couple of weeks, and I'm thinking the show in Atlanta pushed him too far. I think he may have been thinking thoughts that his death was possible and thought about what to do when/if he thought death was near. Perhaps he thought "this is it," and then went to the elevator, knowing his fans and friends would know the symbolism and reference.

I can also believe he simply collapsed where he was, just like millions of people do at death, without any notion that the next moment will be their last.

Whatever the case, he essentially gave his life for his music and performances. If he did over do it with painkillers, it was because he was in pain because of the limits he pushed himself in creating perfect performances.

Wow, this is a must read. Thank you Thora Jay. Here is page 11:

ETA : deleted page 12 due to personal address published on PDF

The verbiage used throughout the document ("Simply put...") rubs me the wrong way. :hearno:

There's nothing simple about any of this IMVHO. This situation is extremely complex, and I'm having difficulty deciphering it. The twists and turns that have been recently revealed via MSM leave me feeling sad.

Something is just not right!

:'(

Is there any hope at all that any of this can be fairly and peacefully resolved? :dunno:

:sigh:
