Wow, I'm surprised. I'll be interested to see, though, if she is really forced to stay in there until Oct. 22. She deserves to. She could have been through with all this a long time ago if she'd just served her probation like the "common folk" are expected to.

Wonder how Lindsey reacted to the Judge's ruling?

I wonder if she cried again?

I know, I'm so compassionate.

A reporter on HLN is saying she didn't show any emotion when being cuffed and taken out, in fact he said "there was a bit of serenity about her".

30 days doesn't seem to be enough for this insolent old brat - just my opinion.

I wonder if she will be forced to detox in jail ?

Cold turkey could potentially kill her. Is any sort of step-down, harm reduction program available ?

o/t, I know, but ..... Did you all enjoy the Sermon on the Mount from Michael and his Disciple ? Oi.

lol..according to the article from People below, she did cry when being placed in the car. According to TMZ earlier, she fully expected to go in there, have the judge set bail and a hearing date for October, and thought she would be going straight home from court. I'm glad she was sent right to jail...she just is NOT taking any of this seriously, even though she says she is ready to take responsibility for her actions. Unfortunately, she wants to accept the consequences on HER terms, which the judge won't allow. She will have to serve a full sentence now, either 30 or 60 days, if the judge gives her 30 days for each dirty drug test. But it will probably be 30, with no get out of jail free card this time. JMO.

This person just doesn't get it!

These people are trying to save her life. She's using all of her fame and fortune so that she doesn't have to pay the consequences of her actions. Much to her detriment, it's that same fame and fortune that could bring her life to an early and untimely end.

She needs to REALLY buck up and take this seriously. Her life depends on it!

"Cold turkey could potentially kill her."

Where did you get this information from? What substance was she showing positive for that "cold turkey could potentially kill her?

I think you are wrong about this, by the way. But I will keep an open mind.
She was positive for cocaine and amphetamine.
I don't think withdrawal from either of these would kill anyone.

Oh, she'll probably get the same ol' drugs she receive last time: Adderall, a psycho stimulant used to treat ADHD as well as Ambien.

Though, I think she's supposed to be off her drugs right now - with all that wonderful rehab she rec'd.

We'll see.

She should definitely be out of the cold turkey stage. She went to jail, then straight to rehab. If she had one dirty test, then we can assume she wasn't doing coke 24/7. The test for Adderal means she was supposed to be off of it, as she was given this drug previously in the pokey. She should be off the Ambien too.

So no step down steps would be (or should be) needed at this point -- if the docs did their job. And she hasn't been out long enough to get totally addicted again (with only 2 dirty tests).

I sure hope the jail doesn't give her back the ambien and adderall. That would be a terrible mistake. But like I said - we'll see.

I think she'll miss the drinking and partying more then the pills.

Ehh, throw her an ambian if she can't sleep. She'll fall asleep safely behind bars, unable to wander.

I have a feeling this girl may, deep down inside, want someone to take control. Her parents never did (except to use her money), her managers didn't. She lived an out of control life with no one there to say: "This is not right." Except perhaps the first judge who I'm sure her mother and friends railed against and criticized. Maybe she subconsciously wants someone to take control and hold her accountable. Kind of like little kids who are much happier when they have rules to abide by and parents/teachers who provide reasonable discipline and limits.
I believe this person never had that. She started using drugs/alcohol young and stopped maturing as a result. She acts like a teenager.
I'm sick of these celebrities and their sense of entitlement and ability to escape consequences, but if you think about it, it's quite sad. The enablers and users surrounding these types, including their parents, really make it so they don't have a chance at normalcy. I hope the justice system at least doesn't fail this person because having her running around free and loaded with money and drugs not only is a threat to her life, but a threat to the lives of anyone who comes across her path on the highway.

well the true definition of an addict is one that continues to use despite the consequences.
I was talking to a woman that runs one of the big alternative sentencing programs around here. She said that she has "inmates" in her diversion type programs that are in her facility with 3 year prison sentences hangin over their heads if they have one dirty test.
She said invariably the true addicts have dirty tests and are shipped to jail for the full sentence.
Point being, they know what they have to risk, but they do it anyway because they are true addicts.

There are a lot of judges here in the OC that are pro-program and give many offenders a chance to rehabilitate. But they almost always include some jail time and then rehab. the same lady i was talking about in the post above, said that without a little jail time it just doesn't hit home for some of these people. The combo of jail and then rehab can be a successful route.
I just noticed you are in the OC gitana, so you know what I mean.

Yeah, we voted in prop 36 providing an alternative to jail for drug offenders. I agree with that. But the criticism has been that you can't force someone into rehabbing unless they really hit rock bottom. Jail was rock bottom for many offenders. I get that too.
This gal has to be pulled out of her circle for a long time before rehab will ever work. Only two things really irritate me about her: One, that she's famous and rich and gets better deals (like cushier jail stays) than the average joe and two, that this spoiled, entitled person risks our lives when on the road and under the influence. But only one of those is really a difference between her and other drug addicts.
Basically, forcing her into rehab won't work just if she doesn't really want to change, as it doesn't with other addicts who don't want to change. But, she's safer in jail and the rest of us are safer as long as she's there as well.
