Lippman filed a motion to be discussed on Tuesday 5/31/11

well, if the state has had a copy of the grand jury testimony....and they did not object to the motion filed....this tells me that the motion is not about the grand jury testimony...

oh I don't know anymore...this is just crazy stuff.......

ITA! The SA seemed very willing to give the transcript to the judge.

Casey didn't really say that much in the letters to RA. Just that Lee had tried to molest her and maybe GA tried. I think if RA was a plant etc. that the letters would have been much more graphic and detailed. JMO.

Not necessarily... not if they were going with recovered memories.

They wouldn't want to be too ridiculously obvious either!

If Lippman's motion argued to keep the GJ testimony sealed, the SA would have no reason to object. IRRC the SA objected to JB's motion to unseal the gj docs. This is Chiquita's transcript of what was said in court today. This sounds like Lippman's motion was related to the gj docs.

HHJP: I will read the grand jury transcript and have that ready for you at eight thirty tuesday morning. All right. Tuesday morning.

ok, just listened to JB again....he said...."She COULD be 13 yrs old, have her father's ***** in her mouth........"

ok,every time this is spoken, i have to wash my eyes, ears and brain with soap, so cut it out,lol

JB wants HHJP to release the grand jury docs so he can perjure GA. Sounds like Lippman filed a motion to stop the grand jury docs from being released.

Please refresh my memory--Have the transcripts of George's Grand Jury testimony already been given to the SA and DT? My last recollection (faulty perhaps?) was the SA (not DT) requesting them, but don't remember if JP said yes.

Logically, the SA and DT did them, otherwise how would JB know if GA's latest testimony didn't sync with what he told the Grand Jury.

So confused. :waitasec:

I think they got the idea from JG's interview. Also when they were in court concerning the release of the letters, JB and KC were laughing like it was a big joke.

ok, they have nothing to fear,so she doesn't tell anyone, but she all of a sudden brings it out with some freaking jail buddy?
right

Sorry! I didn't mean to cause any confusion. I haven't read Lippman's motion, is it available to read yet? I don't know. Just jumped on and wanted to set the record straight about the exceptions to GJ testimony being unsealed for impeachment purposes.

ITA that Lippman will want it to remain sealed. He would have no reason to want it unsealed. IOW, I think we are saying the exact same thing, just speaking in different languages. ;)

fwiw, I tend to believe Hornsby is probably correct in his speculation about Lippman's motion. (see NoeticSoul's post.)

Where is it? I'm reading back. This thread?
Nevermind. Found it really quick.

My understanding is that the testimony was sealed, but the SA could get copies of it. They had no problem handing it to the judge, which I imagine would have come from their offices.
The defense team has never seen them. They are hoping that after reading them, they can find enough to impeach George, another attempt to grasp at the straws that are already to short to pull. IMHO

Jb doesn't know what is in the gj docs. He wants them unsealed so he can "go fishing" for something to impeach GA on. My understanding is the SA wants the docs to remain sealed now because GA's testimony benefits them. (not sure about the SA, just my opinion)

That's good news. I was worried. Thanks

The Defense team has never seen the transcripts and they are not allowed to be present for Grand Jury testimony. During the GJ proceedings (to seek the orginal indictment) only the the State Attorneys are present. The defense has been fighting tooth and nail to get a chance to read these transcripts, but GJ transcripts are sealed. So, no, they have no idea what George said to the GJ and they want their hands on those transcripts BADLY.

Thanks much. Come to think about it, the SA would have been present at the GJ hearing, so their earlier request for the transcripts may have been intended as a stern warning to GA not to change his story.

Thanks, Beach. Do you happen to know what JP is obliged to do if his review of the transcripts this weekend should show that GA's Grand Jury testimony substantially conflicts with some part of his testimony last week?

Could have something to do with what Baez said in opening statements and what he keeps interjecting into questioning during the trial??

NANCY GRACE
Casey Anthony Defense Claims Accidental Death
Aired May 24, 2011 - 20:00:00 ET
excerpts:

"MARK LIPPMAN, ATTORNEY FOR GEORGE AND CINDY ANTHONY: No. The allegations today were just totally off the wall. We`ve expected this for about six weeks now, that they were going to come down this road. We`ve anticipated that they were going to come down this road, but certainly, to hear it said in court the way it was said and the additional facts that Jose was adding in there, or statements -- they weren`t even facts, it was all just fiction. His whole opening was fiction, and there`s nowhere to go with it."

(clip)
"MARK LIPPMAN, ATTORNEY FOR THE ANTHONY FAMILY: Nancy, this whole theory started, as far as we`re concerned, probably back in February where they started creating this, when the psych evals came out. And from there we`ve known approximately about six weeks ago that the defense was going to go down this road. And that came directly from Jose`s mouth where we found out about six weeks ago how Caylee, according to them, passed."

"At this point, even that`s suspect. Don`t know from what Jose was saying today if we can believe anything that comes out of his mouth."

"Certainly, everything he said about George was a complete and utter lie....."

What motivation would Baez have to inform George and Cindy of the above? (other than to hurt them)

okay...was I hallucinating or did the pretty girl that looks like Jennifer Aniston , who dated Tony's roomate...say that Casey told her George was dead?...At that moment I had a call come in but swear that's what she said...

come on...NOTHING she says is ever the truth....I'm surprised her pants aren't on fire.

was it okay to say that?

  • #99
That would be Maria Kissh. I think she said that Casey told her Caylee's dad was dead.

I just do not get how you can slander someone to the extent Baez is doing and it is perfectly legal, I suppose during a trial words may be said, but to build an entire case on something that has no ground to stand on, how the heck is that ok?!?!?! I hope it is a motion regarding this issue in one way or another...

AZ said he could do that but it would have to be based on evidence.
