Live MSM coverage on baby Lisa 21 October 2011- including Nancy Grace

It sounds like they are anticipating being called for the defense.

And it sounds like they are putting this out there in hopes that the DT will call them, almost like a job application and resume.

bumping this up as well (statement from fbi/graves)

In an email to NBC Action News, Sgt. Stacey Graves with the Kansas City Police Department said, "We are not pushing or seeking a quick confession, we are searching for Lisa. She (Lisa) is our main focus and will continue to be until she is found."

A spokesperson said police just want to get the truth and a new interview with the family would be a good start.

Could JI have been put on some kind of meds to cope with this and that is why he seems so withdrawn?

Could be Marah, I think he's in shock because his baby is gone and he believes his gf-Deborah knows how and why.

imo

Just a thought... I have a son who has asthma. If he gets a croupy cough I will take him out at night, in a diaper, but with a blanket around his shoulders, to get some of the fresh night air. It tends to help him out with his breathing a lot.

I don't totally discount the 4am sighting however I wonder if this mans mind decided that baby Lisa was what he saw instead of something/someone else. I mean the baby could have been bigger/smaller, the guy could have been a mom with short hair instead or a dad haggard looking from caring for a sick child all night. The possibilities are endless here.

I do know that if the police have checked into this and discounted it that I believe them.

As far as the couple that saw a man with a baby, well.. their story is changing just as much as DB's it seems like to me and I have to wonder at their motive. :waitasec:

ETA: Also, if this was a week after that he reported this how can he be positive it was the exact same night that Lisa went missing? It could have been the day before or after even? I can tell you things I saw and heard last week but to pinpoint the exact day, unless it was something special that happened that day and it was out of my normal routine when I saw it I couldn't guarantee you what exact day it was.

Seems like questioning everyone who lives in the area and putting out news reports requesting information on anyone who was out with a baby in the middle of the night or, anyone who knows of anyone with a baby in the area, would be a good thing to do. Does anyone know if this has been done? Then if this doesn't produce any information, I would think it could be assumed the baby seen with the man could very possibly have been Lisa. How many other reported kidnappings of a baby took place that night? JMO

^^for the above^^. Start at the bottom and read up. It makes more sense that way.

Yea - it's weird to do it "tweet wise" instead of posting an article on their website with the full statement from Short.

The statement goes on to give examples of the parents cooperating with police, such as signing consent forms for searches, allowing police to issue an Amber Alert, and allowing their sons to be taken for interviews that is trained in interviewing children
by Brian Foster - KMBC.com 1:13 PM

"Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley had no role in the disappearance of their daughter. They are praying for her safe return. They need the public to look for their little girl and for the public to report anything they think might bring Lisa Renee home."
by Brian Foster - KMBC.com 1:12 PM

"Debbie and Jeremy want one thing: The safe return of their little girl."
by Brian Foster - KMBC.com 1:11 PM

The statement continues, "The police, however, have starved these parents by withholding information about the investigation. The police have isolated the parents and repeatedly told the press they are not cooperating. Lisa's parents are cooperating with this investigation and will continue to offer their help in the search for their beautiful little girl."
by Brian Foster - KMBC.com 1:10 PM

"They have taken all calls from detectives, and answered questions posed again and again. In the initial hours of the investigation they tolerated accusations; volunteered to take polygraph examinations; continued to work with detectives even after the interviews turned into pointed accusations. Lisa's parents resisted the idea of working with lawyers because as innocent parents, they did not believe they needed any legal help. Family and friends convinced them otherwise"
by Brian Foster - KMBC.com 1:10 PM

The statement from Short says that Lisa's parents continue to cooperate with police despite statements from police saying they have not been cooperating

I wonder if the attorney read this article and what LE stated?

Originally posted and dated: October 18, 2011
Police say the last "unrestricted conversation" police had with Lisa Irwin's parents was Oct. 6. After that, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin sought legal counsel from a local lawyer.

That was before their latest attorney, New York defender Joe Tacopina, was hired by an anonymous benefactor and introduced to the public on Monday.

Police would also like to talk to Lisa's other older brothers who were home the night Lisa went missing.

Lisa stated herself she will NOT allow LE to re-interview her children.

Yes, maybe so ... :waitasec: at least they are "hoping" to be called for the defense ...

I just can't take LKB ... had enough of her from "that other case" ...

There are so many other attorneys to choose from ... HLN made an extremely poor choice when they put LKB on the "role call" for "talking head defense attorneys" ...

MOO MOO MOO ...

Until today, the public didn't know about the man on the motorcycle sighting. LE knew since about Oct. 11, but they didn't share it with the public.

I agree. It would be a HUGE help to do up a composite sketch of the man, (or sketches, if the description of the man differs) with a map of where the sightings were, and implore people who think it may have been them to come forward so this lead could be cleared.

As thorough as LE has been in this case - and they've been VERY thorough - this is a dropped ball on their parts. If they're sincere in their recent statement that the witnesses haven't been discounted.

And even then.....I think it would still depend on where the body was found, cause of death, and other circumstances....whether an arrest would come quickly or not...

Two very notable cases, Scott Peterson and CA. CA was arrested before Caylee's body was found as was Scott. If you google it there are tons of them on the internet where forensic evidence was used to convict these killers in the absence of a body, usually at that time, some of these killers came forward and said where the bodies were so the death penalty would be taken off the table. But there really are a lot of them out there.

I'd link to an article, but they haven't put one up on their site yet. Hence the tweets about it on the liveblog. **shrugs**

A police spokesman told KMBC on Friday that the parents are not willing to meet with detectives to answer further questions.

Hm, interesting. This statement looks LE are trying to bring the heat with this, trying to push the family into interviewing again. It also implies the family has not told the truth before. OR, it could also be taken as an acknowledgement they only want to get the truth, so perhaps new things turned up during the search which pointed to an intruder, thus making LE want to speak to the family again.

I'm really not sure what to think. Short's statement of cooperation has come after far too many days of he said/she said over cooperation. LE started the "not cooperating" meme, and hasn't let it go. They could have let this die, but they keep bringing it up, prompting a response from the Irwins, and starting this whole cycle over and over again. If LE really wanted to speak to them again, all they have to do is call up Short and ask - not make a statement to the media.

I'm not sure what game they are playing here. It comes across like they're trying to bring heat on the family or push them into more interviews, but it's making me a bit uneasy the way they're playing this out in front of the media. The media has been completely one-sided in reporting this case, and I'm not sure if that's because of the tone LE set, or from their own tabloid nature. I'm not trying to bash LE at all, but their media statements are starting to bother me.

I've been looking around the net for comments on the People Mag interview and was surprised to find JI saying much more than previously. Seems he found his voice for that interview. Hope he wasn't getting paid. Here's one from msm, can't post the rest because they are from posters........

This week's edition of People Magazine featured Baby Lisa on the cover.

In the article, the parents talk about being the target of suspicion.

Jeremy Irwin said, "I think we're probably going to be in the crosshairs until they find whoever has Lisa."

"What I think is that somebody was watching us, and they saw Jeremy’s van was not there. And that just happened to be the night the window was open,” said Lisa’s mother Debora Bradley.

The police already know everything that's in the statement - this is to try to make clear to the public what is the truth here, so that maybe we will continue to search for a living baby and not conclude the parents are guilty.

Take this with a big grain of salt, but a local (I think) said on the FB chatter on the liveblog that there are traffic cams all around the area that the motorcycle man reported the sighting. It might be an angle worth exploring.

I'd be willing to set-up a round table at my house and have JI & DB & attorney sit down and LE so they can all talk together.

Obviously no one is budging in this case and not sure if the media is playing one side against the other or if the attorney is playing one side against LE OR LE against the attorney.

What I do know is "THIS IS RIDICULOUS". :furious:

Um hm. I posted much earlier today that there may be video cams at the intersection. Lots of business around there.

Of course, now time has passed and it's likely they no longer have the relevant video that they would have had Oct. 11.
