As a hairstylist for 14 years I know that there are people in this world that think that just getting your hair done will make everything all better. A woman could lose her entire family in a house fire and be neglecting her appearance as she grieves and at some point in time someone who cares about her is going to insist that she go and get her hair done and it's going to make her feel so much better. They may even drag her kicking and screaming to a stylist.

Generally they do tend to relax and put their concerns away for the short period of time that they are at the salon and when a person is under tons of stress even an hour of a break from some of that stress is a huge break for them.

Besides, if she wasn't keeping herself up people would be saying what a slob she was and that she probably didn't take any better care of Lisa than she did herself.:floorlaugh:

Thank you for your thoughtful post. I haven't watched any of today's media coverage and can't comment on DB's new do, but I don't have a problem with her having spent a little time having her hair done. Despite the gravity of the situation, life marches on, and personal care and hygiene are important in making someone feel better.

This might sound like an odd comparison, but I remember when my dad passed away, my mom asked me to go to the local department store for white stockings for both of my younger sisters because she didn't want them to wear their sandals without stockings for the funeral. I wondered if it was appropriate for me to go shopping during this sad time, but Mom had asked me to do this, so I went. In her grief, my mom was still thinking about her children and didn't want relatives to think anyone's attire inappropriate. They did anyway  Dad's relatives thought that we should have all worn black, but Mom wore a pale grey dress, my sister's and I wore white, and my brothers wore the only suits they owned.

Ya do what ya gotta do. jmo

My opinion is, if LE actually has questions of substance - and doesn't want to try to play mind games with them, they would agree to whatever terms Short wants. As it is, they ARE willing to answer questions right now.

I think what LE wants to do is get them down to the station and play mind games hoping to turn them against each other and break them.

Since I'm not at all convinced they know any more than they're telling, that strikes me as cruel and unnecessary to further the investigation.

MOO

IMHO I find it VERY necessary to do. ANYTHING they need to do to further this investigation they need to do. Who said the parents are cooperating ?? The lawyer?? I dont think they are doing a thing to find their daughter. Taking to the media, making deals and hanging a poster on a tree with tape for a 5 minute photo op does not a compliant person make.

If I was an FBI agent i would be following them all over the place and questioning them to death. Give me 5 minutes with DB, I'll find out where Lisa is. Once again, we seem to be forgetting this is not about hurting DB or JI's feelings, this is about LISA...

Say it isn't so!:floorlaugh: This has happened in almost every article I have seen so far - misreporting. I sure am wondering what happened to integrity.

I can't even figure out how they get pants? Why not a white dress?

BBM: Good Points ... and I totally agree !

Not only is attorney JT giving interviews ... NOW ...

The local attorney CS is doing interviews for national tv and playing "tour guide" for the house ... Seriously ... WHY does the local attorney have to give a "tour" of the house ? That "smells" like a "defense strategy" to me ...

Oh, and DB has time to get her "hair done" ... but does not have time to search and meet with LE ...

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight ...

MOO ...

It's probably partly a defense strategy, but mostly the local attorney is hoping to climb the ladder to "nationally known" attorney and this is like a dream come true dropped right into her lap. She's going to get her name and her face out there as far and wide as possible and for as long as people are willing to give her airtime. Free national publicity does not come along often, if ever.

She's going to get out there and defend her client at every opportunity. If she does not, her cash and fame cow might go out and hire someone who will. No way will she let some other attorney get one toe in the door if she can help it.

Quick! Someone call Appy Wells!
Seriously, they are asking for a do over? Mmm. Mmm. Mmm.

I know right?? :waitasec:

A baby is missing and the parents are in negotiations about who they will talk to????? So THEY can feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE?????

This gives the appearance of self-preservation above the safety and well-being of a missing baby. Anyone else getting this feeling?

Whoa. Who what where???
The guy on there, on FOX, just asked why "someone's" brother wasn't talking about why he was at a deli at 5AM that morning...

I have said all along to check out the brother, check "other" family members..

I am not convinced ABC sent out a reporter who looked at tapes at a gas station. I think if a reporter had done that we would have heard their name and they would have done the story on it telling how they found it.

I think it is far more likely it was part of Stantons team going around to all the gas stations within miles and this being the best thing they could find.

Stanton's team member gave this to ABC as part of the deal they will not reveal that.

How a tape of a white blob woman/man crossing the road two miles from the home in a case with a 9 hour window of opportunity means anything I have no idea.

Here is the tape on a link that works better for me. http://www.kmbc.com/video/29570079/detail.html

BBM : I was thinking Stanton as well when I heard about this video from the gas station ...

And IMO ... Stanton is about "Stanton" ... and IMO, he "thinks" he is LE -- something he is NOT !

MOO ...

I missed that! dern it. Made a trip to the laundry room. So, someone made a trip to a deli at 5AM? LE was on scene by that time. Hope we get more of this.

IF that man in the video was exiting the woods without the baby, they better check those woods AGAIN. Cause it would be part of the duhfense if Lisa is found there that the "man" put her there.
The area 'the blob' is seen coming out of is not woods. It is just an overgrown lot that has trees on it. It should be obvious if she is there or not with a quick looks-see. But, yes, it should be looked at.

Not according to the attorney Cyndy Short.....

~snip~

Short says it's true that the police and her clients cannot agree on the conditions for another discussion or interrogation.

"We were offering conditions under which we would sit down again and the conditions that they wanted and the conditions that we want right now haven't meshed," Short said.

Koppelman asked Short if she could identify the conditions in which Bradley and Irwin would talk to police again.

"There's some detectives that really have a broken trust, and so it's going to be counter-productive to try to sit down with those detectives again," Short explained. "So it would be better to bring in some detectives who are fresh-eyed, fresh-eared, to listen to the parents. And the parents, I think, would feel more comfortable and less afraid."

Seriously??? Hogwash, I say.

I've seen this behavior before...... when the parent/parents are involved.
This, IMO, is yet again more attempts to make the parents out to be the victims...Lisa is the victim (within an ongoing investigation).

Lisa :blowkiss:

I think if someone knew their baby was never coming back they might go into self-preservation mode. I mean, there is no baby anymore to preserve, right? Might as well preserve themselves and the rest of the family.

Does that attorney not realize how selfish it sounds to say the parents of this missing baby are more worried about feeling "safe and comfortable" themselves than helping the police find their precious daughter? That is just absurd.

In the video from the today show the crib is stripped now (except it looks like there may still be a bumper) and the swing is gone. I wonder why they waited so long to take the bedding? Especially since so much time has passed and so many have been through the house including media. Can things like that hold up in court if they do have any evidence on them?

DB has made this all about her from the beginning. Now, she's raking in the dough AND getting fawned over!! Lisa....who?? :furious:

If baby Lisa was kidnapped then her parents are VICTIMS too. Not having any sympathy for them when we don't know whether they are victims or suspects seems rather cruel.

I'm talking about the interview with Young where he said yes they are still clearing up tips. They're in phone contact.

Your quote deals with the fact that is also true, that they are unwilling to sit down for an "unrestricted" interview.

Still, they are willing to take questions over the phone and answer them.

When you child is missing you dont tell the police what they can or cannot ask. You answer the questions, this isnt on your terms it is on LE's terms. What the heck is a phone interview going to do. What, you can go out DB and get your hair done but not to go to the police station to answer questions because you dont like them.. Boo (insert bad bad word here) hoo..

I am not on the fence here. IMVHO I say they are guilty, I have no feelings for them what so ever. They are making this all about them, not Lisa..

Ok so I need to throw this out here because it is bugging the carp out of me and it is regards to the carpet issue and perhaps this will need its own thread.

In this video: http://www.kansascity.com/2011/10/23/3225517/irwin-cases-frustrations-continue.html ( at about 1:30 in the video) with the attorney speaking of the search of the house and how LE never took any samples of the carpet from the bedroom, but that they took carpet from the garage (apparently the large roll seen being carried), Im not sure if they actually even took the big roll to be processed or not, but in this second video : http://abcnews.go.com/US/baby-lisa-irwin-surveillance-footage-mystery-man/story?id=14795844 at about 1:57 you have the attorney in the home giving the tour and you will notice that when she bends down pointing out the carpet still there that it has been recently replaced (at least to me).

If you take note of how she is able to put her fingers under the carpet and lift it as well as all the door casing and baseboard is missing from along the walls, one would be led to think that some recent remodeling was going on. Usally carpet is attached by carpet tack and held down by a binder bar of sorts when you have carpet meeting wood floor ar laminate in a doorway such as in the video. Someone doing there own remodeling could very well have not done this just due to being ignorant of how to do it right. I also notice the carpet hadn't been strectched to fit either.

I mean it could be nothing as LE could have removed it (baseboard, door casing) but because LE went for the carpet in the garage makes me think that this was new carpet in the bedroom and the old in the garage, thus why they did not remove any carpet from the parents bedroom.

Ugh I don't know, I am probably over analyzing the situation
