No, they don't have to have someone actually testify that she drowned. They just have to try to get the experts to say that the evidence is consistent with drowning.

I guess that's why JB is stalking that convention! Looking for the expert on "toddlers-who-duct-tape-their-mouths-shut-and-take-a-swim" expert! :crazy:

Detectives gave Casey a chance to go with an accidental story and Casey said that she was sticking to her story, Zanny took Caylee, because it was the truth. That Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez was the last person she seen Caylee with and that is who she, Casey, left Caylee with on June 16th, 2008.

I'm going to go back and listen to the phone call Casey made to the Anthony home where she talked to Cindy, Lee and Kristina. Anyone who can claim that Casey was "ugly coping" about her babies "accidental drowning" needs to listen to this phone call where Casey, when hearing Kristina sob and saying that she would die if anything happened to Caylee and Casey relies back that calling them is... a waste... a huge waste.

^^^^ This phone call, if a jury does get to hear it, may just be what gets Casey the death penalty.

I listen to this phone call everytime I start to get worked up about this case and the claims of the defense.

A million thanks, cause you are so right....but they will likely only be able to use the part in the interview at the Anthony house where she refuses to change her story, cause the interview at Universal....it's sketchy whether that will make it in, IMO.

I should add-My mother tells me when the rock initially refused to dislodge, she freaked out and started for the hospital like a bat out of hell-That's what REAL moms do when their child is endangered.

TP certainly didn't deliver as promised in early reports today. I see nothing that shows proof of homicide any more now than before. In fact just the opposite.

I don't think he brought out anything we didn't already know. We've heard the accident theory for months (maybe years) now. And we already knew Dr. G. couldn't determine the cause of death by the autopsy alone. The only new thing I recognized was Dr. G. stating that she couldn't positively state the exact placement of the tape over both nose and mouth. It's possible we may get more info about the exact placement of the tape from some other expert or analyst. This news bombshell was a bust.

If I ever wanted ANYTHING in this case to be admissable it would be this phone call. This is the real Casey Marie Anthony. This is how she talks to her "much feared" mother... F-bombs flying and all.

I don't think the defense has come up with any reason to keep out the phone call to the house yet.

No wonder the defense was trying to have Casey's statements to detectives thrown out. How would they explain those statements if they are claiming this was an accidental drowning?

TP had Dr. G's depo transcript. CM tried to get her to agree that Caylee might have accidentally drowned; she said accidentally drowned toddlers are not taped and bagged and tossed in swamps. But she could not say whether the tape actually covered the nose and mouth, or just the nose.

Not verbatim, but one of my personal favorites in this phone call is this exchange.

Kristina... well, I'm on your side... your family is on your side.

Casey... No they're not... no one from my own family is on my side... All they care about is Caylee. They just want Caylee back... and guess what... that is all I care about.

Kristina... Casey, that's your baby... your flesh and blood... your baby girl...

Casey... You know what... I don't want to talk to you right now... put my brother back on the phone or get Tony's number for me... I love you honey... you know I would never let anything happen to my daughter... if I knew where she was... do you think any of this would be happening?

I did not realize that! Oh my, Roy has not been known to be a sweetie pie when others seek to agitate him-I recall when he had to recall RCain for the detectives. He threw some 'tude out there about ole Officer Cain.

I will tip-toe O/T and say....so true and thank you again-and I love your caption re: shelter animals....as you can imagine, when my husband and I ran an APBT rescue a few years back, we were constantly stocked up, we couldn't stand to know what shelters do to good pits, and fast, so we did our part to keep them out of there-By not breeding!!!
