I've wondered that too. JMO

IMO opinion they do. I believe one of the mods or the owner was contacted by OPP about this site and the information we talked about during the bans. They politely asked that we not discuss anything until it comes out in court and is made available to the public. Could make you wonder too if the defense uses this to there advantage? A little leak here a little leak there then there is grounds for an appeal... JMO

MR was with TLM at the same time he was dating another woman. What were the triggers in his life that could have made him really actively work towards abducting a child for his deviant fantansies?

-he had a relationship that had just ended.
-he had a relationship with a young girl who was addicted to drugs
-two weeks before Tori went missing, he had a blowout with his mother's live-in boyfriend.

Something set him off to to start the process of abducting a child. I believe he had wanted to do this for awhile before he was successful with his partner in crime. I have to think that MR was fixated on the woman he dated with the child just before he 'accepted' Tori into his vehicle. What if he was obsessed with her child? He trolled schools with TLM and also told her about the floor plans to homes that would be easy to break into. JMO

This quote shows that MR had a temper. Maybe there will be witnesses that will testify to that. I also read before that the police were called in re. this fight, but I can't find that source right now. JMO

I think a lot of it had to do with meeting TLM. I think they recognized their own sickness in eachother. Without TLM I think MTR would have started or continued to molest children (there's nothing to indicate the latter, but I think it is a possibility). I don't think he would have done something as brutal as what was done to Tory without TLM though. However when it comes to TLM, I think she might have ended up killing someone eventually during her lifetime even if she had not met MTR.

I know that the are a lot of twenty something's that have to live with their parents because they cannot afford to live on their own, however into think that there is a difference between MTR and most others in that situation.

MTR was a high school dropout, he drifted from couch to couch, from girlfriend to girlfriend, and it sounds like he never had a steady career path. It sounds like he loved that ugly car, but it was a pig sty in there, and I think that was a direct result of the kind of drifter lifestyle he had. From what we've seen I don't think that he had any plans for the future, or if he did he wasn't motivated to take the steps necessary to work towards them. He might have been a dealer, we know he was a pill popper. Life really doesn't hold much promise for people like that, and I think he was fast approaching the age where that becomes an unavoidable truth. Maybe that triggered him.

But I think wondering about that is somewhat similar to wondering about the influence Necro had on TLM. I think they can offer us insight in to what kind of people they are, but even without those types of triggers the two of them had it in them to do what they did. I think it's the same thing as them eventually murdering or raping someone even if they had not met eachother.

I was thinking that too, but I read on the FB page that this reporter had been very good with the family and they had invited him along. All in the name of awareness, thanks to the Stafford's for that!!!!

Thank you for pointing that out. It's not something that can be proven, but its very likely that the kind of awareness that Rodney is raising has saved the life of at least one child, and that means so much. I wish that it didn't take stuff like this to get people's attention though. I like Rodney, he's like a blue collar Mark Klaus. The last interview I saw with him was in studio and he was wearing a t shirt and a flannel. :rocker:

I've removed a couple of posts discussing family members at Tori's graveside. Please let's not discuss or speculate about other minors in this case.

Thanks!

From this, it's possible they had planned this out. Or it could also be possible that TLM said she had to pick someone up after school before she could go. He went for gas while she waited at the school, then went to pick them up. It would be interesting to know why he was originally going to go to Guelph alone, then changed his mind and decided to invite her (according to TLM).

Snipped for space:

I was asking the same question a week ago. So why the heck would he go back to her house and ask her to go to Guelph with him. I can't see MR wanting to bring a child and her babysitter to Guelph with him to pick up some drugs. Doesn't make sense. So I have to believe TLM's scenario.

  • #749
Being in Guelph puts him out of Woodstock close to the time of the abduction, but not close enough. He doesn't even bother using that as an alibi since he was doing something illegal anyway. I think the cell phone information to come will demonstrate where he was via his phone and at what times. We already know he was in Guelph from the ATM video footage and transactions. Going to Guelph places him far from Woodstock and allows him to drive even further away North to rape whichever child he would help in abducting. JMO

I think the ban on publication was ordered to prevent the possibility of "tainting" a "future jury".

Now that the jury has been selected, and ordered by Judge Heeney not to read any media that discusses this trial, I am confident jurors will follow the Judge's orders explicitly.

Given that, there is no practical reason for anyone to post "red herrings" on a forum........other than to try to persuade other forum members.

Just a question:
If MR stated to TLM that Tori was too old, then why did he proceed with the plan?

Because TLM had already pushed her into the car and it was too late. If they had let her go, Tori would have told her Mother.

One too old was better then none? Desperation? Sick fantasy? Beggars can't be choosers. According to TLM MR did say we can't keep her and we can't take her back. :moo:

Snipped and bolded:

I agree that something must've set him off, however this kind of behaviour as we all know starts very early on and not at 28 years old. If he is a pedophile, I wonder what triggered his sickness.

And I wonder if LE found child pornography/child pornography searches on his BB and laptop.

I totally agree these things just don't happen over night. IMO, we will get the answer to your last statement this week.

• The most serious and chronic offenders often show signs of antisocial behavior as early as the preschool years.

• Nearly all the offenders in sexual assaults reported to law enforcement were male (96%).

71% of male offenders are under the age of 35.

• 3/4 of sexual predators are younger than 35. About 80% are of normal intelligence or above.

• 3 in 10 child victimizers reported that they had committed their crimes against multiple victims: they were more likely than those who victimized adults to have had multiple victims.

• The behavior is highly repetitive, to the point of compulsion, rather than resulting from a lack of judgment.

I wonder if prosecutors come here, that'd be kinda cool. I've always wondered if LE comes here.

Well, the Crown's case is already cast in stone and disclosed to the Defence, but I suppose lurking here wouldn't hurt to pick up pointers for cross-examination in case the Defence produces any witnesses.

The Defence's case is still a mystery and I wouldn't be surprised if Derstine's paralegals were lurking here and even posting, looking for ideas. I've noticed more than one brand new participant here since the trial started. Anyone playing devil's advocate could actually be the devil's ally. That gives me the creeps.

As for LE, I'm sure the do a lot of that judging from the social media evidence presented.

We know from testimony for jury consideration, that LE stated MR did not have a criminal record.

Although it is possible for a sexual deviant to avoid a criminal record, they often do acquire a lengthy record of an unhealthy interest in such things.

Nobody who knew MR personally or intimately, has expressed the opinion they suspected he had an deviant sexual interest in young girls.

Many people who knew him personally and intimately, expressed disbelief at the charges against MR.

There has been nothing presented by virtue of evidence or testimony, to support the testimony of TLM regarding MR's sexual interest in little girls.

A deviant sexual interest could be held by MR, but I don't see any evidence to prove it yet.

Are there really female child molesters?
Yes. A 2000 statistical report by the US Department of Justice* found that female offenders victimized:

12% of victims under the age of 6
6% of victims ages 6 - 12
3% of victims ages 12 - 17

How many victims does a child molester average?
Interviews guaranteeing complete confidentiality and immunity from prosecution, conducted by Emory University psychiatrist Dr. Gene Abel*, uncovered that:

Male offenders who abused girls had an average of 52 victims each.
Men who molested boys had an astonishing average of 150 victims each.
Only 3% of these crimes had ever been detected.

How do child molesters get into situations where they can exploit children?
Few child molesters are able to resist their powerful urges to initiate contact with children and will go to great lengths to do so. Common strategies include:

Befriending parents, particularly single parents, to gain access to their children.
Offering babysitting services to overextended parents or caregivers.
Taking jobs and participating in community events that involve children.

Attending sporting events for children and/or offering to coach children's sports.
Volunteering in youth organizations, offering to chaperone overnight trips.
Loitering in places children frequent - playgrounds, malls, game arcades, etc.
Spending time in Internet gaming and social communities, learning the online interests and lingo of youngsters.
Becoming foster parents.

I hadn't thought about the laptop being significant to the Crown because of child pornography. That would be very difficult for the defence to explain.

BBM I wondered that the other day as well when Derstine was asking the officer about EOA. Defense had not mentioned it the day before when the letters were discussed, and suddenly out of the blue the next day, Derstine is asking about EOA (East of Adelaide). Of course the poor guy was a forensics experts so he'd have no idea about gangs.

And I lived in London for about 3 years, on Adelaide south, and worked at the cuban cigar shop in the little mall across the bridge and I have NEVER heard of this gang either.
