A lot of kids that age go through a goth phase, I don't think it's that weird.

Maybe not, but interesting now knowing the darkness her life evolved into, she would be attracted to someone who wanted to move to SF to hunt vampires. :twocents:

I don't know what it says about me (eek!) but I don't find their relationship that mystifying. It was mutual until it wasn't, at which point the sex still was. But, for him it was just sex, for her it was the open door back into his life. He never grasped that.

Well, like I said, I watched my son go through this, so I don't suppose it is all that unusual. He just seems SO angry, and then SO NOT angry, I'm wondering what she did. For my son, it was his girlfriend's repeated promises to stop cheating, and then . . . . I'd love to know what he kept finding out about Jodi.

I can't sleep. *rocks back and forward* Time to turn the computer off though. Night :furious: :D :D

I've found myself rocking back and forth myself! I used to do it when I was 5 for God's sake. AND the incident Jodi tells about her Father catching her coming in after she snuck out of the house, and hitting her, IS EXACTLY what happened to me. I was 15 and and though it was 35 years ago I remember it like it was yesterday. I don't condone parents hitting their kids but I have never held it against my father. Knowing Jodi the incident probably never occurred! I can't stand HER!

I'm fairly certain you are right. No one can authenticate those letters except for the author...which is likely MM. Now, if he wants to take the stand and authenticate them, well, then I'm sure JM would gladly move for their admission. Otherwise, the other alleged author cannot authenticate them, for obvious reasons.

i think it's required that anything like this be the originals too. i read somewhere that's the law.

we had a very informative discussion awhile back with AZ lawyer about these letters and what happened with the DT withdrawing right after it was determined they were forgeries (and i think that's according to the FBI.)

i wish AZ were here to remind me of it, but his (her?) legal opinion was that those letters will not come in and that some of her old DT got in big trouble over them too.

JVM is tweeting that next show will cover the topic that Jodi was originally scheduled to go to Cancun with Travis but he took her name off and put the other lady down. Bet that made her mind up to drive to his home and murder him in the most painful way possible.

Does anyone know where to find links to all the written journals and text messages and emails between TA and his killer? For the love of God, I have searched and searched, but only find photos of snippets here and there. TIA :-)

TO CLARIFY:

The lady sitting behind the def. table in court is Wilmott's paralegal, not the Mitigation Specialists...

So who is the mitigation specialist for Jodi..I sure would like to find out.

I have to admit, I'm a little flummoxed. Lol! :)

I don't see the attraction for him after he suspected her of slashing his tires and following him on his dates, to his new "girlfriends" houses, sneaking into his house and waiting in the closet, crawling through the doggy door and sleeping on his couch. I think that would set off warning bells for me personally.

However, maybe he was just very flattered by her over-zealous attention. His friends have said he was inexperienced, etc.

I suspect at this point the dad was desperate. Probably been trying to control her for years, and he was at the end of his rope. I don't condone parents hitting either, but seeing what she's like it is somewhat understandable.

There's been a lot of speculation about how much her mom knew before JA was arrested. Det. Flores says her family "was concerned but not surprised." I don't think the parents really knew anything about the murder, just that Jodi was acting weird and perhaps getting ready to run. They probably had enough experience with her to know this was not good. But did they know she'd killed Travis? I doubt it.

That's one of the things that bothers me the most. The fact that she will never be sorry for what she did. She will never care that she took his life.

Agree, and what bothers me more than her not being sorry is my opinion that she is glad she killed him. She's proud and gloating about having slaughtered him. It's truly sickening.

But, but, but -- you see -- she WON!! He did NOT go with Mimi to Cancun! He'll never call her evil or a sociopath again! And that's also what he gets for not visiting her in Yreka, like they discussed! And dating other women -- not any more! She had the last word and got her way. Back in control, as it ought to be! And if another man tries to do this to her again, he'll get the same treatment! Jodi always wins.
--------------------------------------------------
Does she have any idea what kind of trouble she is in? What does she think about at night in her cell when things get quiet?

Yes, she's a big fish in a little pond right now in the jailhouse, but will that be enuff for the (I hope) rest of her life? And in a (I hope) quite different Corrections Institution when (I hope) she gets convicted of (I hope) 1st Degree Murder?

Again, I say, she's the most soulless and worst I've ever seen. :furious: .. JMHO.

However, being inexperienced sexually

The attraction is sex. Men like sex. She gave him sex.

It's on youtube - search for the Heat is Juan

Thanks, but some YouTube videos do not do on mobile. They actually say when you pull them up not optimized for mobile. So I finally got my computer a while ago and saw it, thank you.

Rosemarie Urbanski has been a forensic document examiner and expert witness for over twenty years.
Rosemary Urbanski has examined the handwritten letters on October 12, 2010.
She is the DT's witness to examine the "letters".

Thesea re the minutes of 8-15-ll when Urbanski testifies:

Defense case continues:
Rosemarie Urbanski is sworn and testifies.
The witness is excused.
The Defendant request to have her advisory counsel reinstated as counsel of record.
Discussion held.
IT IS ORDERED granting the Defendant’s request to have her advisory counsel
reinstated as counsel of record.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED appointing Kirk Nurmi and Victoria Washington to
represent the Defendant for all further proceedings.
Counsel for the Defense withdraws their objection to the State’s Motion to Preclude.
IT IS ORDERED granting the State’s Motion to Preclude the Letters

Could it be something Rosemary said????? lol

Actually, you don't need originals for authentication. Authentication is a fairly low bar...the proponent must offer enough evidence to allow the judge to find that the writing is what the proponent claims it to be, and that a reasonable jury could find the writing is what it claims to be, that's all. So, even a copy can be authenticated by someone with knowledge of the writing, by someone can show evidence that it was received by someone who can say it was written by the author, that the handwriting is that of the author, or any other evidence that it is authentic.

Apparently, even this low bar of authentication has not been achieved on these letters.

yep. and flattery. she slathered that on with a trowel.

Lol OMG, do you remember her cooing on that tape? To this day I believe that is the real reason she was so upset the day it was determined that the whole tape would be played in open court, she was embarrassed that her "hook Travis" techniques would be laid bare for all the world to laugh at.
