My dad was a prosecutor on the German and Japanese war trials. He was a prosecutor in Tennessee and taught law at Georgetown University in his latter years. Brilliant man. He was helpful to the US government in setting up War Tribunals.

I think Mr. Martinez is brilliant. He believes that the truth never changes so if you are telling the truth about any event ..no matter how many times or ways he postures a question that the truth if you are telling it will be revealed each time.

If you are lying then your story changes everytime the question is possed a little differently.

Wow. Your dad sounds amazing!! What a wonderful legacy--and you're so right about the truth. Truth never changes.

Anyone else around listening to HLN? They are showing the Jodi Tapes, which right now Flores is interrogating her and she is talking about the emails that came up in trial. Not something I caught before... I'm gonna have to watch all of these unedited tapes.

I have been MIA for the past week and just now getting caught up, so please forgive me in advance for bringing this up if it has already been discussed at length..... Am I understanding correctly that TA's family, per request of the defense, is no longer allowed to wear ribbons in the courtroom, yet JA's is now wearing ribbons for domestic violence?

If this is true, how is it the true victim in this case and his family can not show their support for him, but the person who is responsible for his death is allowed support through these ribbons? How is it they are allowed to continue to wear these ribbons? There is no shred of proof that JA was a victim of domestic violence but we have nothing but proof that JA killed TA.

If there isn't a ribbon color for murder victims we need to get one.....NOW!

Travis' family is still wearing their ribbons. The spectators are not allowed to wear the ribbons anymore.

:dunno: Maybe her family is wearing the ribbons b/c they realized they are victims of the defendant. :puke:

Your are so right! It probably is that simple

Taking the DVD and Stereo would alert Paw Paw to check for the gun IMO.
Had she left those and just taken the gun, no telling how long before he would realize it was gone.
Obviously she wanted it reported stolen before she left town.
I think in her mind she had an alibi for the robbery so she could still use the gun in the crime.
[/QUOTE]

I wonder if the REMOTE she "accidentally took" from Darryl Brewers was actually the REMOTE to the DVD Player she STOLE from her Grandparents house and that she possibly gave to Brewer for his son or something or in trade for the use of the Gas Cans? Has this been looked into?

This comes across to me as heartless by Jodi's family. Its obvious that they are wearing the purple Domestic Violence Awareness ribbons, because and only because Travis family refuses to remove the blue ribbons that they have been wearing in memory of their murdered brother since the start of trial. --

Just kinda makes me feel like its Jodi's family giving a big ol F-U to his family.

Speaking of; did anyone else catch the spider reference used by Jodi in one of the interrogation videos. She tells Det. Flores that "she's never even hurt a spider" when he's asking her about anger/rage issues.

MM also used the same spidey language in the short-lived email he posted on the pro Jodi website. He wrote something to the effect that she wouldn't even hurt the spiders she found in their bath tub.

Hmmmmm...quite a coinky-dinky if you ask me.
Yeah... MM and DB said that didn't they?

I neglected to answer you question about Mr Martinez working long hours...sorry..I am certain that he has an amazing staff and all of them are working long hours. My dad always worked allot.

At one point in my dads long career ..he was a defense atty and practiced before the Supreme Court of The United States. He was honest and would only take defense cases that he felt someone had been wrongly convicted.

I think it is utterly devoid of character and empathy for the true victims. They KNOW that Travis' supporters were told not to wear their blue ribbons. THEY were responsible for that. For them to now sport ribbons is just classless and bordering on abusive. Combined with the GARBAGE ALV is spouting on the stand right now, things are really nauseating right now.

For anyone that hasn't seen or didn't know, JA created a youtube account on May 29, 2008 and uploaded the TA as Eddie Snell video Jun 12, 2008. Here's a link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36hTqMtzLQQ

You can click on her name and it will link you to show the account setup date.

When the video starts someone yells "Show us your guns" and as he poses it is evident he has words written on his biceps just like the girls in the tin foil video he viewed the night before he was killed...

I have reading posts and there are several that talk about seeing some pic's ~ and once you see these pictures you cannot unsee them/ hiding a dozen Easter eggs  Call me whatever you want, but NOW my curiousity has gotten the better of me. Where are these pics? Can someone give me a link or tell me where to find them?
"When can I see those pictures"? "Can I see those pictures soon"?

You're going to need a lot more eggs.

:goodpost:

My understanding is that she contacted the bishop IN ARIZONA after she had moved to Yreka and after Travis was murdered, for the purpose of finding out what he knew.

She would never have gone to the bishop and confessed while Travis was still alive because her bishop would then have promptly contacted Travis' bishop and Travis would be called in.

<<<<< respectfully snipped by borndem>>>>>

This is why he had to die. He refused to be silenced and she knew one foolproof way to maintain her ability to continue the Mormon/PPL goldmine she discovered and that was to kill him.

I am sure jealousy was a factor but survival as a female bombshell predator feeding on these virginal returned missionaries was paramount, imo.

:tyou: ... Great Post, anagrammy!!:websleuther:

Your post is one of the best posts on this entire case, IMO, anagrammy. I thank you for sharing it with us. I learned a bit more during your post about how the LDS church operates -- I did not know about the "disfellowship" concept, but now I can imagine how that act would have really upset and distressed Travis. And you apparently feel that he was very serious about getting back in good graces with his congregation, the bishop, himself and his God. And I agree. He had worked so hard; the church & his LDS and PPL friends meant very much to him; and he was working on getting back on track... And that meant no more Jodi...

And here she comes.... when she arrived & before he decided to show her the door, I would think that he may have spoken with her about some of the things you mentioned -- disfellowshipping and repentance, etc, etc. In fact, he may have already told her about his planned trip to the bishop before he went so as to give her the benefit of also going to her new bishop in Yreka (AS IF!), as you mentioned. If so, that would be one conversation that JA would have very quickly erased. I think he politely asked her to leave and continue on her trip to SLC, and he prolly tried to show her the door. And yes, maybe that was when she decided to go ahead with her murder plan -- sooner, not later. Who knoze? A talk about the things that you mentioned, and his plan to get right again prolly got her madder than hades....

And it the Cancun trip did surface, TA may not have hesitated to tell her of the type of woman her was going with and why, i.e., "no more Jodies, ever".... That may have been just the stick of dynamite that started it all.

Thanks again ana, for the very fine post.

we don't have the full story on any of this yet. so don't get too worried. nurmi's investigator told them that they had 100%, positive PROOF those pedophile letters were written by TA. they were flat out LIED to. that's why sky reacted the way she did----all this is after TA's dead. 2010, i think?

and it sounds to me like at first, they liked JA. they even asked TA 'is she as nice as she seems?' and he said 'yes.' it took awhile--- but probably not long for them to catch on to what she really was.

so the emails ALV is referring to were very early in the TA/JA relationship----jan. of 2007. they weren't even 'official' yet. (hate that word but JA uses it, so whatever.) she must have told them stuff that TA was doing in an effort to get them to take her side, or get them to encourage TA to do whatever it was JA wanted him to do.

that's how she operates. she knew he was close to these people. so she snowed them, convinced them she was just this sweet thing, and then she whined to them that TA wouldn't commit, or whatever it was and they chastised him for it. they apparently told him he wasn't treating her right.

so far, that's my read on this whole thing, and JM will sort it out on cross, i have no doubt.

Thank you for reassuring me. This has had me very concerned, and I appreciate your view and explanation.:seeya:

Jennifer Willmott: (Opening Statement): "Jodi Arias killed Travis Alexander. There is no question about it. The million-dollar question is what would have forced her to do it?

Jodi Arias: "The simple answer is that he attacked me and I defended myself."

Common sense will prevail in the deliberation room. Wet, naked man in shower attacks young woman with a bar of soap and a loufa! Ends up dead on shower floor with 29 stab wounds, slit throat, and gunshot through head in less than two minutes after pursuing young woman with gun around bathroom and through dressing room/closet. Killer claims self-defense but no sign of defensive wounds other than a few knife cuts on fingers. Killer suddenly develops severe case of PTSD and 'foggy' amnesia while cleaning up crime scene and fleeing to keep pre-arranged rendezvous with new boyfriend. Explains bandages on fingers as work-related injuries. No outward signs of 'trauma'or 'battered womans syndrome' were detected by new boyfriend or anyone else in the days following the grisly murder and after the arrest of the killer. She performed for the cameras in the interrogation room...headstands, singing, crawled on floor, asked to put on make-up before mugshot....all signs of PTSD. right? Just ask Dr. Samuels! Signs of 'battered woman's syndrome"? Just ask ALV! Signs of a psychopathic killer? Just ask the jury!

I feel sorry for Jodi's Mother. She's watching her daughter drown and can do nothing about it.

I know what you mean, but maybe she could get more empathy if she quits the "giggly girly" schtick. Her daughter butchered another human being, could she just leave the giggles at home and away from the cameras. There's nothing funny about this situation for Jodi or the Alexander family.

I don't see an Facebook for Travis, but his myspace is there and you should read his words. He was an amazing young man.

Everybody needs to read Travis's blogspot. I just did and sitting here in tears. What a wonderful young man who overcame so many bad things in his life. His writings are an inspiration to all. Our dear DV expert needs to read these and then tell me Travis was an abuser. He would have made such a wonderful husband for the right person and a marvelour father....I know he would have touched many many people in his life . Sorry to rant on so but I am just overtaken with emotions from his writings.
