Why would it be less of a surprise if he was aware of her being there? A stabbing would be a surprise either way. I would think it would help IF he was aware - she could get ready, move around, make noise, and his guard would still be down. He's not expecting to be stabbed - no need to leave and come back.

Yes and No and I see your point. But I am going with my assumption that they are kaput on June 4th and this is like her last desperate try to get that free ride to Cancun.
I do not think he wanted her there as he was leaving on the 10th and it was with someone else and not the shedevil.
I could be way off and most likely I am but it is just a feeling.

I agree, which is why i quoted the fight for their lives. There was no 'fight', only a slaughter.

Absolutely.. Whether the shot to the head (Jodi) or the stab to the heart (Med Examiner) came first...testimony is each of those were fatal wounds. He had minutes to live either way..yet she continues to brutalize him.

i heard a friend of his one night on TV who supposedly discussed it with TA after JA moved back to yreka. he said he'd gone to the bishop and was in counseling about his relationship with her. that's all i know about it.

it won't come in, pretty sure. it's hearsay. and the bishop certainly won't talk about it.

But JA talked about meeting her Bishop after Travis' memorial. I wonder how much she told him...?
She just wanted information. She never disclosed her part in the murder. She tried to used him as she used everyone else in her sorry life. (That is IF she ever went to "her Bishop", it wasn't even her Bishop because she was never really a Mormon.!!)

Because it's not necessary and is likely to garner further attention that is distracting, at best? And it's a little unseemly, imo. I can't Imagine asking a Supreme Court Justice for their autograph in the middle of the Obamacare arguments, for example. Just not something that would occur to me. A handshake and expression of respect, maybe. An autograph, not so much. Especially in the middle of a high profile criminal trial. jmo

I have seen countless cases for over 20 years that were high profile. I don't understand what you think Mr. Martinez has done wrong or different than others have done. It isn't unseemly. He works for the people.......the taxpayers pay his salary and he isn't to be nice and accommodating? What is wrong with signing a lady's cane if she asked him to?

I have seen both Prosecutors and defense attorneys hold PCs on the courthouse steps. One defense team did it on a daily basis and so did the Prosecutor. I have even seen the defense attorney and his hired experts lined up for a photo op and a PC. Not a word was said because what they do outside of the courthouse has nothing to do with inside the well of the court on duty.

And not once has these things ended with a mistrial nor was a case overturned because of it nor did it distract from the case that was happening inside the courthouse............

I think it is wonderful that Juan is acknowledged for the amazing dedicated Prosecutor he is. He has been bringing justice to victims and their families for over 25 years. Im glad that people are stepping up and telling him how well he is doing. Not once did he mention anything about the case and he never would while outside the well of the courtroom.

All the whining done by Nurmi is much to do about nuttin.:furious: Just soar grapes that no one wants his photograph nor tells him he is doing a fine job. Beth said he makes sure he comes right by their media van everyday so he can be seen. So it seems he and Wilmot go out the front while Juan only did it once.

Juan did nothing wrong. It isn't his fault that he is well liked. He didn't ask them anything and all they did was just normal chit chat with him when he was off duty.

IMO

Agree with the above, also, It's not as though he was grandstanding either. He looks kind of embarrassed and uncomfortable in that video. I understand the argument that he shouldn't do it, and I'm SURE he won't now, but cut the guy a break, he was just responding politely in the moment.

And if he had been rude and curt he would have caught hell about that too.

A few seem to want to find fault even when the poor guy didn't even know this was going to happen. No one was more surprised than he was.

After reading all of the comments about ALV's testimony yesterday....I am just not going to watch it. Sounds like it was nothing but JA's regurgitated lies. Complete BS IMO.

Actually, Im seriously beginning to believe ALV wrote the script.

Which is exactly what I've said...several times. Like I posted above, just because I don't like how he is in the courtroom doesn't mean I must absolutely disagree with every single thing he does.

I don't believe that for a second. If she had, it would have been much better.

In the interrogation tapes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Det Flores asks her at least a half dozen times if Travis knew she was coming to see him and every time she either changes the subject or stares into space and says nothing.
I think this points to the fact it was a surprise to Travis that she turned up at that strange time in the morning.

I agree. I don't believe the theories that she held him hostage or any of that nonsense, but I do think she showed up unannounced and he was like, "hmm, well....as long as we're here....."

I don't think defense liked him being videoed as a normal human being able to laugh and be receptive to people who approached him. He is a different person outside the courtroom. JM's image was not hurt by his interaction with the public. Defense would have preferred that the public believe JM is just a big bully to their client. He has a job to do and so does defense. To me the judge should have admonished defense for harassing JM. Had defense researched it they would have found out the truth. Puts the judge in a bad light, IMI. Maybe their paralegal should stay at the office and do some research for a change instead of entertaining Ms. Arias. Is the State also paying for this paralegal to sit there all day doing absolutely nothing? jmo

I agree back :)

No red blooded male, regardless of his religion, is going to turn down a <mod snip> in a storm, ever.

Yes, I have pondered it to no end. The element of surprise and she had to be fast. Really fast. Travis had many defense wounds on his hands and he was much bigger than her and she still managed to kill him. It's not that I want to picture it but I have tried to, it is still not plain as day to me.
He just had to have had a fatal wound and she was able to over take him.

The only other thing I have considered is that she drugged him or attacked him while he was asleep. But, there were no drugs in his system and the bed was not bloody. So, I have to rule those out. And I am supposing we do have all the facts, not that I doubt that. jmo

I thought that book was written by several of the actual jurors? I havent read it but keep meaning to...everytime someone mentions tri-color, I think of Strawberry Shortcake.. idk why !

It does say that, just sometimes it reads like a first person account and at others not.. they should have gotten an assist on it If they didn't have a ghost writer. It's still really good. At least to me it was.

Lol. It's like one of my male friends said to me once when I was distraught about some guy cheating on me, "If a hot girl shoes up at your door and wants to ----, you're gonna ---- her."

I think it's absolutely hysterical that there needed to be a "decoder" for 5 simple phrases that a sixth-grader could put into order in less than a minute.

Yes, but we don't know Matt.

JA thought she had to keep this somewhere between The Boxcar Children and Nancy Drew for Matt to have any chance at all to keep up with her 'genius'.

I'm in no position to argue with her, and I enjoyed it as much as anyone when JM dragged her through that testimony.

This is a different Jodi Arias than we've ever seen before or since:

If you'll notice, her answers throughout this entire portion of cross-exam are clipped -- staccato, even -- and consist mostly of one word: "Yes."

She wanted to do everything within her power to rush JM through her attempted witness tampering and perjury subornation.

This just makes me furious that it is even a topic :furious: A (self filter) can brutally stab, shoot and slice a man's throat and JM is being called to task for people walking up to him. Unfreaking believable, the DT is slinging sh$t hoping something will stick.
