Ortiz has three children, two girls and a boy, according to friends and family who were at the hearing. While unsure of the kids' ages, a cousin said they were all under 8 years of age.

Milton Montesdeoca, 24 -- who appeared before the court in the morning session and received a continuance on alleged motor vehicle violations – stuck around to watch his buddy. Montesdeoca said he and Ortiz have hung together often in Bristol, sometimes just shooting hoops. He said police have made a huge mistake in they believe Ortiz – called "Charlie" by his friends -- had a role in a murder.

"He could never have done this," Montesdeoca said. "He's humble. He's quiet. And I don't even think he knows Aaron Hernandez." When told Ortiz had posted messages on the Internet calling Hernandez a friend, Montesdeoca held his ground. "I've been hanging around the guy for years," he said. "I never heard him mention Aaron once. If Charlie knew Aaron Hernandez, I would have met him."

Is it possible Ortiz could have been persuaded by Hernandez, an NFL star, or someone else to take part in a killing? "No way," Montesdeoca said. "I don't ever remember anyone talking Charlie into anything."

A woman who identified herself only as "Linda," and said she was Ortiz's cousin, she, too, was in court for another matter, saw his name on the docket and stayed to provide morale support. "He didn't do this," she said. "He's not that kind of a guy. He was crying in court. Do murderers cry?"

When asked about Ortiz's record -- an extensive criminal history that, according to court documents, includes a February conviction for interfering with an officer, plus other arrests for larceny, assault and criminal mischief – Montesdeoca shrugged.

"We've all been in trouble," he said. "That ain't murder."

According to this June 19th article, it appears that the civil suit was filed on Thursday, June 13, then settled, but Bradley plans on refiling:

http://www.ibtimes.com/aaron-hernan...ce-he-suspect-odin-lloyd-murder-case-1314563#

In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Florida last Thursday, Alexander S. Bradley sued Hernandez for an incident he says occurred in Miami in February, TMZ reports. The suit was filed just days before police searched Hernandez’s North Attleboro, Mass., home in their investigation into the killing of Odin Lloyd.

...

While Bradley had initially sued Hernandez for more than $100,000, the case will never get to court. TMZ notes that the lawsuit has already been dismissed, indicating that the two parties have reached a settlement. However, CBS Sports reports that Bradley plans to refile the suit on Wednesday.

While the lawsuit itself has been validated, it appears that Miami police did not deem it necessary to prosecute Hernandez in the alleged shooting of Bradley. Sports Illustrated's Greg Bedard notes that a police report was filed at the time of the incident, but it was "resolved quickly."

If that's the case, the settlement (drafted by AH's lawyers) would be ironclad and Bradley would have very little chance to extract more $$$ from him. I thought in Florida, if someone commits aggravated battery, authorities can pursue criminal charges without the victim's cooperation, so why was the incident dismissed and resolved so quickly? Shooting someone in the face which results in a loss of eye is a serious felony crime. $100,000 is not even that much money when you consider the incident, medical fees and loss of future income etc.

Was this reported in the news when it happened? Settlement doesn't confirm AH actually shot Bradley, just that he did not want bad press at the time. However, I am sensing a pattern here with the new reports of violence that is unraveling.

IMO

ok, Milton - apparently your 'good' friend has been hiding stuff from you because not only does he know Hernandez but has a photo of Aaron & family who he refers to as 'angels' on his FB and has Aaron's brother as a FB friend

and both Milton & Linda happened to be at the courthouse on the same day at the same time - wow, what a remarkable coincidence

oh & btw Milton, no, we have not all been in trouble

Has Hernandez ever actually owned a vehicle of his own? He has rented so many different vehicles, I can't keep up!

filed on Thursday, June 13, then settled,

From what I understand and do not have a link, the lawsuit was filed, then rescinded, only to make corrections to original lawsuit and hhas since been refiled with corrections made....never settled.

Patriots to conduct Aaron Hernandez jersey exchange on July 6-7

On Friday, the Patriots announced that fans who have purchased a No. 81 jersey — from either Reebok or Nike — from the team's pro shop at Gillette Stadium or through the team's website will have a two-day window to exchange the jersey for a new, in-stock Patriots jersey of comparable value.

Has Hernandez ever actually owned a vehicle of his own? He has rented so many different vehicles, I can't keep up!

About 10 years ago I knew a player for the NFL. Auto companies used to give him his choice of one of their cars or trucks to drive, free of charge. It was great for advertising...oh, look, so and so, big sports hero, drives a Ford, GM, ect.

Just catching up on the thread now.

Just had one quick question, is AH's house in a gated community? He did have home CCTV security etc but I am just surprised he didn't live in a residence with more security i.e Gates/fences positioned around the entire premises of his OWN house to block off anyone entering or trespassing on the property. Looks like anyone can go up to the doorstep. Any insight?
Hi!

Pretty sure it is the gray two story one

So... Hernandez killed Lloyd to stop his possible talking about the supposed murder of two rival gang members... and now Hernandez looking guilty for not only murdering Lloyd, but at least 2 other murders. Well done, Aaron! That really kept it all under wraps, didn't it?

Well, Lloyd, sadly you had to give your life, but you stopped this monster anyway. RIP Lloyd.

Tid bit:
Bradley’s attorney, David Jaroslawicz, tells WBZ-TV the lawsuit was filed last Thursday and withdrawn only because of a minor error. It was re-filed Wednesday afternoon in US District Court.

WBZ-TV contacted the Miami Dade County State Attorney, the Broward County State Attorney and Palm Beach County State Attorney Wednesday about the alleged incident and all said they have no record of it.

????????????

Have not heard this angle
Lawyer of man shot in Florida says Aaron Hernandez left him to die

Jaroslawicz initially filed the complaint on Bradley's behalf on June 13, four days before the body of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd was discovered in

Bradley was found alone and bleeding from the face and arm in a Riviera Beach, Fla. industrial park, about an hour north of the strip club where he had spent the previous evening with Hernandez and others.

ME: He seems to like industrial parks!

"You can't make this stuff up. When I filed this simple lawsuit for Mr. Bradley's injuries, the last thing I expected was they would find a dead body near his house and he'd be under investigation to two other dead bodies," Jaroslawicz said. "That's not what I expected when we filed our simple lawsuit."

Jaroslawicz said Bradley had known Hernandez for several years and had worked for him
"He thought they were friends," Jaroslawicz said.

Now Jaroslawicz and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are at odds about if and how a criminal case against Hernandez should proceed.
Jaroslawicz said the fact they have filed a suit against Hernandez in federal court should be enough for the sheriff's office to investigate Hernandez on their own.

"They know who did it. They have a sworn statement filed in federal court that Hernandez shot (Bradley). What more do they need, a picture?" Jaroslawicz said.

Meanwhile, police in Gainesville, Fla., where Hernandez played three years at the University of Florida, said they will not conduct further investigation into a 2007 shooting. Hernandez was interviewed by police after that incident in which two men were shot in a vehicle on a night following a Gators' football game.

"The description of the shooter was a black male. It was not even remotely close to Mr. Hernandez's color or build," Gainesville Police officer Ben Tobias told USA TODAY Sports. "We did a thorough investigation at that point, and it did not lead to him whatsoever."

Sleuthing about. I just realized that for the last 10 minutes I lost track of which murder, when, what year and what city I was trying to learn more!!!!
