I think they arrived back on July 15, 2012. That was the day leading into the double murder in Boston (early morning, July 16, 2012.) I thought the timing was pretty crazy!

Wow just watched the latest duel between JB and the judge. I guess I am seeing this all very differently than most here. I think JB has valid points as I thought Sullivan did. The judge seems on a very short fuse with both sides but particularly the defense. He ultimately gave in to JB and noted the objection and then tried to dial all the number testimony back which we all know really does not work. I did a bit of googling on Judge Locke and he has an interesting history...not all of it positive and has been known to blow up in courtrooms. I think his comment to JB while jury was still there is simply not correct under any circumstances and I think the jury must be wondering what in the world is going on in this courtroom. Now we have jurors sick which was inevitable...must wonder if the judge is sick the way he is acting. I am no Baez fan but the judge seems biased.

I don't see it that way.

I watched Sullivan's long unfocused monologue from this morning. His arguments were disorganized, overly wordy, and confusing. The judge lets him go on and on for about 25 minutes. Finally, the judge says ' Ok, but hurry' when Sullivan says he has more objections to another witness coming up. And that triggered Sullivan into a blistering attack. But I think it was unwarranted.

Why shouldn't the judge remind him to hurry it up? The Judge is supposed to keep things on track. Sullivan is long winded and disorganized. The judge has every right to comment upon that. And to ask him to keep on schedule.

The judge does not ask the CW to do that because they are not as long winded as the DT. And they are succinct in making their arguments. While the DT makes about a dozen possible objections, to see which one might stick.

I think the judge is frustrated with Baez because Baez continuously slips in comments that are not to be admitted into evidence---purposely, to get into the juries minds anyway. Then a sidebar is called, wasting a lot of time. They do it over and over again. So I don't blame the Judge for eye rolling occasionally.

I saw a lot of tweets today complaining that the CW called these witnesses, even though they did not 'remember' anything.

The CW had to call these witnesses. They had no choice. These guys were in the vehicle with AB and AH, and the jury knows that.

If the CW did not call them, the jury would wonder why not. They'd think the State was trying to hide something. That would be bad.

And even worse, if they had not called them, and had them testify that they remembered nothing, the DT could have called them to testify to a made up scenario. Now Baez cannot really do that.


I saw other tweets saying that Baez 'proved' that the cops were PRESSURING Crawford and these guys to talk. WELL DUH...:doh:

They were traveling in a car, in which one of the passengers was then found half dead alongside the road. OF COURSE THEY WERE PRESSURED TO TALK.


Also, Baez tried to get the detective to say the area was a drug buyers area---which he wouldn't say. But the DT seems to be saying that AB was there to do a drug deal. BUT WHERE WAS HIS VEHICLE? AND WHY WOULD HE GO ALL ALONE TO A REMOTE LOCATION, ON FOOT, WITH STRANGERS?

THAT makes no sense to me. And Baez cannot use the witnesses in the car to say that AB got a phone call and asked to be dropped off there or anything, because they have amnesia.

The mumbling 'I don't remember anything' witnesses were an embarrassment. The way they looked and acted in court just screams 'hopeless'.

I have no idea. Did she dispose of another mysterious box where a gun may have been held? She was quite a bizarre witness last trial even though she had worked out an immunity deal.

She seems to have a different attorney this time. Her last attorney was Janice Bassil, who has worked out other plea deals... she now represents Bella Bond's horrid mother RB.

IMO, Baez acted like a small child today throwing a temper tantrum, and he knew the cameras were rolling. If you have a beef... do it in private. By the way, isn't that the exact thing he said to the judge... guess he can't follow his own advice.

As far as those witnesses, they were very much necessary as katy explained in the post above.

I think the judge was just playing it smart, to avoid future appeals. He said 'sweet things' about how much he respects Baez and Company, on the record and in front of the jury. That prevents a new trial in the future. So Baez and Locke were playing chess and Locke made the right move by doing that. And he allowed one of the DTS many objections, and kept out some of the phone calls. But I don't think any of them were vital or anything.

I think Locke just threw Baez a bone by keeping these testimonies out. Doing so will weaken Baez's future appeals on the grounds of judicial bias.

This Judge is holding his own and not letting JB get his way nor is the Judge holding law classes like in Anthony trial. Stay with it Judge...JB is not a big cheese, is not always right and nor does he have the right to make a scene like that. I am sure the jury sees all this...well I hope so, as one other jury did not. Thanks everyone for posting.

This "I don't know" crap is just that .... complete crap.

Heavy drugs, drinking and getting shot has messed up their minds .... :gaah: .... whatever.

I am not sure which character it was ... but one of them was beaten up while in jail because
of the upcoming trial ... I am thinking it was AB.

They are all sacred to death about being called a "SNITCH".

My Lord, AH's "friends" .... all very scary and shady.

Yeah, that 'wall of guards' is quite a sight. You have to be wondering what the jury is thinking about all of that. I think the CW bringing that 'I can't remember anything' group in their case was a smart move for many reasons. It not only gave them a chance to question them first before the defense, but showed the jury who AH associated with. I hope the jury will talk after the verdict as it will be interesting to hear their take on it.

Pierre, the driver 'did' show up, but couldn't/wouldn't remember anything... but he 'did' remember he had a jaguar. Another smart move on the CW to ask those car questions

I believe it was OH, Papoos who was beat up in jail and think he is out now. Don't know about the others.

Thanks Niner, that would be great. Some jurors were getting sick, so court was maybe starting at 12:00 today, but could get cancelled for the day if they are not feeling good. I have a feeling that there may be more 'outside' of jury stuff that may happen in the morning.
