Three bodies were discovered at the Massachusetts home where police say a man accused of raping, torturing and holding a woman captive lived.

Investigators found the first two bodies “in and around” suspect Stewart Weldon’s Springfield home late Wednesday and the third body Thursday afternoon, Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said Thursday.

Gulluni declined to reveal where on the property the bodies were found.

Police tried to pull over Stewart Weldon for a broken taillight on Sunday, when the situation escalated into a police chase.
Police said Weldon eventually crashed into a police cruiser and fought officers when they tried to arrest him. Police recovered two knives from his pockets, according to court records.
An injured woman who was in the car with the 40-year-old suspect thanked police for saving her life, telling officers through tears, "He's going to kill me," according to the police report.
Officials said she told them Weldon had held her captive in his home for the last month and raped her several times.
The woman was an acquaintance of Weldon's, according to Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni.
She suffered several stab wounds, marks from being hit with a blunt object and a possible fractured jaw, court records said. The woman told police Weldon hit her with a hammer.
The ongoing investigation prompted law enforcement to search the house, which is registered to Weldon's mother, according to property records.

Gulluini wouldn't confirm the age or the gender of the three bodies, or where on the property they were found.

""It's very early. We're really under 24 hours at this stage. A lot of progress has been made, that's to the credit of the detectives and the prosecutors working on the case. Much work is to be done," Gulluni noted.

1333 Page Boulevard is the last known residence of 47-year-old Stewart Weldon who was arrested Sunday after a police pursuit in Springfield.

Officers said they found a woman in Weldon's car that was brutalized and she told police she'd been held captive for a month at the home, according to police records.

Court documents obtained by Western Mass News added, "While making these statements, she appeared to keep looking in the direction of Weldon's vehicle stating he's gonna kill me!"

According to the articles already posted, his mother lived in the home (She's the one who called 911, b/c she smelled a foul odor)...also, 2 children. The kidnap victim was apparently the children's mother. Wondering why only one child was taken into DCFS custody. Not sure if any others lived in the home as well.

Possibly those who lived with him were unaware of the murders.... or were too frightened to speak out lest they become one of his victims ?
