Still Missing MA - Ana Walshe, 39, allegedly left home, may have been dismembered, Cohasset, Jan 2023 *husband indicted* #4

  • #2,201
I fear he will be found not guilty. The commonwealth didn’t do a good job, especially with witness preparation of Gem today.

I can see him testifying tomorrow because of his ego, not because of his lawyers’ advice.
I don't know. I think the jury will ponder the evidence. Does his version of the story make sense?

He goes to the kitchen to do the dishes and when he goes into the bedroom, his very young and fit wife is DEAD. In that short window of time, she dropped dead. But did he call paramedics to come try and save her? NO.

His 3 little boys asleep in their beds, and his fatherly decision is to make a Lowes shopping list to get supplies needed to cut her up and dump her in the trash.

If she died suddenly in bed, why did he have to dismember and dispose of her body? Isn't he disposing of the very evidence that could clear him of murder?

The jury knows he had a federal fraud case so they know he is an expert LIAR. They are not likely to believe anything he says, imo.

DAY 8 – 12/10/25

  • LIVESTREAM: MA v. Brian Walshe – Day 8 | The Disappearance of Ana Walshe Murder Trial

    • Last person to see Ana Walshe on Dec. 31, 2022.
    • Met Brian Walshe at the Boston Breakthrough Academy leadership program; partnered as buddies during the program.
    • Met Ana through Brian; she was interested in real estate and worked as director of operations for him from Summer 2020 to Spring 2022.

    • On Dec. 31, 2022, Mutlu visited their rental house in Cohasset at 8:30 pm, brought fruit and chocolate for the children, and was greeted happily by Ana and Brian.
    • Had a festive atmosphere; spent time with the couple’s oldest son.
    • Ana took pictures of the gathering; the witness noted a cheerful environment.
    • Ana did not have any injuries or health concerns observed; the night appeared festive and without issues.
    • Left the Walshe home at around 1 or 1:30 am.
    • Texted the following day, sharing a message about a necklace given by the oldest child.
    • Brian called Mutlu to ask whether he had spoken with Ana, as she was missing.
    • In Spring 2021, Mutlu described a disagreement with Ana as passive-aggressive. He later suggested she take time off from work to focus on personal matters.
    • Ana discussed a possible job opportunity with Tishman Speyer, which was significant for her and her family.
    • Mutlu attended the hearings for Brian Walshe regarding a pending federal case, sitting next to Ana for emotional support.

Re-listening to day one
it's okay to scroll and ignore.

BW's mother was wearing a brooch of a carousel horse - make of that what you may.

This was the day of the appearance of the Rosary. I'm thinking Mommy coached BW to these dramatics.

Regarding the hole in the ceiling. The defense wanted it thrown out. Said it was a red herring. Turns out it kinda was
Prosecution wanted it in as it was tied to an email from Richard Walker who was talked about in one of the LE interviews
Hole in the ceiling was granted.

The jury's pre charge instructions
1. that BW caused death of AW
2. that BW intended to kill AW
3. that there was deliberate premeditation
4 that there was no self defense portion
5 that there are no mitigating circumstances

Re: the guilty pleas
The CW was the one to ask any reference to the guilty pleas be excluded, not needed in their opening, looking to avoid it
Defense didn't need it for opening but would reference BW lied to LE

I'm not understanding why the CW wanted to exclude his guilty pleas. I'd think that it would be vital to the reasonable doubt trigger----how reasonable is it that someone dismembers a spouse who died of natural causes?

I am listening to a lawyer on the radio( Kiss 108 Boston )right now
She says the judge has not yet decided whether to let the other pleas in
She also says that the jury can decide for a lesser charge manslaughter /second degree murder

As far as the CW not wanting those pleas in
You have BW buying the murder stuff/you have Ana's dna etc on the murder stuff as well as Brian's dna
All the other lying and slinking around - BW's searches - The P has to string it all together in closing
Slam dunk murder

Enter his other pleas and maybe someone buys his brazen BS. Much cleaner without the pleas

She is 50-50 on whether he takes the stand

I am running out of the house so I hope this makes sense :)

And we're live

Expected testimony of Mr. Walshe today.

Nope.

Now he's not going to.

  • #2,207
What an about face. The judge had five issues to resolve but the Defense changed course. BW will not testify.

  • #2,208
I think, but I'm not sure, the judge will not allow his early pleas to go before the jury because those guilties might cloud their judgment and impact their deliberation.

  • #2,209
Defense doesn't want the Commonwealth to say that the Defense made promises they didn't deliver in their opening statement.

Except they did.

  • #2,210
Sounds like the defense is resting.

Um I'm glad he won't testify but the defense doesn't have any witnesses? I didn't see that coming.
I listened to the defense opening last night and counted 20
You will here evidence statements.

Judge's colliquy of the defendant

He is not testifying.

They had nothing the Commonwealth wouldn't eviserate.

It was better to rest than have their defense blown apart.

Guilty Friday or Monday?

  • #2,216
Jury entering.

  • #2,217
Guilty Friday or Monday?

Guilty every day.

But deliberations? Counsel still have to agree on jury instructions.

Maybe overnight?

She may do closing arguments tomorrow afternoon or Monday morning.

It will be a fast verdict IMO.
