5 hours and counting....

To be honest, I didn't expect this.

I'm not worried about the verdict. IMO he's guilty of murder and they'll teach that verdict straightaway. It's the degree that's challenging.

IMO the CW left it up to the jury to find premeditation.

It takes some real deduction to get there.

Why did he dismember her? IMO because her condition predetermined it.

If she died of natural causes (she didn't) or he murdered her in a way that wasn't immediately evident, he wouldn't have even thought of dismembering IMO.

If the juror believes he used a knife, he had time to gather a knife and time to not stop. Premeditation.

Bloody slippers and bandages (and antibiotic cream) predate the protective wear which all but screams that he had a bloody scene and an injury BEFORE he bought the tools with which to dismember his wife.

And if it was a bloody murder with a murder weapon, he had time to consider and/or stop that assault.

It's there, M1, but the jury has to work for it.

That they are still deliberately tells me a strong majority have made it over the M1 hurdle and do not want to settle for M2.

Has the jury been given ANY instruction on how to navigate M1 if they don't agree? When do they move to M2?

I don't think they can deliberate on M2 until they resolve M1.

I’ll be content with either murder charge, but prefer murder 1. I think the CW did the best they could. Either, with his other charges, puts him away for a very long time and away from Ana’s money and her beloved children.

I see an earlier post that said the jury deliberations were delayed - does anyone know "what time" they did start? TIA! :) Just trying to keep my notes straight! :D

Okay I see the verdict clock going on 5 hours & 40 minutes - so they must have started about 9:40am.

I think the CW didn't go all in with a theory because rightfully they don't react the jury to discard the theory and find him then somehow not guilty.

The unspoken theory -- he killed her with a knife.

They can't prove it though... it's still possible he murdered her, and with premeditation, in another way.

Yes, by a good half hour. A juror was absent. An alternate. #15.

Presumably both sides were okay with continuing with the seated juror and 3 alternates remaining.
