A blight on the Suffolk DA, shame on them.

You've got to be kidding me! I don't believe for ONE MINUTE that she is any less responsible for the death of her daughter than McCarthy is. This is a ridiculous mockery of justice. That child deserves justice. This woman gave birth to her and was supposed to protect her at all costs.

I'm disgusted.

Prosecutor David Deakin said the state will recommend a sentence of time served if Bond testifies against her former boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, who is charged with murder.

Very disappointing. I do believe that MCarthy physically killed Bella but wholeheartedly believe that Rachelle is equally culpable for the crime.

What an outrageous result :(

I can only assume that the state feels strongly that they are light on physical evidence and need her testimony to add to the total circumstantial evidence they have on McCarthy.

My biggest fear now is that he get off and then neither truly pays for what was done to our Bella.

I am so mad I am shaking. This poor excuse for a decent human being never deserves to step foot in the free world ever again. What if she has more children?!? What about justice for Bella?!?!? She is going to get off with pinning this solely on someone else?!? She needs to admit her role in the death of her daughter and there is nothing in this world that would convince me that she didn't play the biggest role in her daughters death by being a horrible mother.

I'm right there with you Dogface. I'm assuming her testimony is truly needed for a conviction. Even slit totally infuriates me!! I'm so sorry sweet, beautiful Bella. Iim in tears all over again.

From an "inside" forensic science source (okay, another Patriots' fan @ a SB party): there was great hope by the legal beagles that the OME would be able to determine by size or DNA just who's fists pummeled Bella. Decomp & massive tissue "disorientation" made it impossible but every possible permutation of science was tried! The staff @ the OME & the State crime lab went over this case "with a microscope" (pun, intended!).
This is NOT a "slam-dunk" case....it's becoming more & more obvious that "he said-she said" will be a defense employed and her plea deal will be used to bolster his "not guilty plea". He has a very capable atty! And as we've seen in the past, juries have problems with the concept of reasonable doubt!
Pros. team trying for parental, scientific, logical thinking & "common sense" type jurors!

Sounds like poor little Bella is being failed once again by a system that was supposed to protect her-and then after her horrific murder was to see justice be done in her memory. Caylee Anthony all over again.:gaah::shame:

I swear to Christ I believe she facilitated it.

There will never be a more unjust sentence than if she gets time served plus probation like her attorney is asking for!

she was never charged w murder IIRC

I'm confused. If she plead guilty to accessory after the fact, is her murder charge revoked? Is that the "plea" part? Plead guilty to a lesser crime in exchange for testifying against McCarthy?

Play it up Rachelle. Did you shed one tear as you stuffed your dead child's body in the refrigerator, stuck another needle in your arm, or when you dumped her out like garbage?

Bond pleaded guilty in a calm and quiet voice. She showed little emotion except when prosecutor David Deakin described the moment she walked into her daughter’s bedroom and saw McCarthy over the little girl’s body. Bond, who hid her face behind her hair and did not look at anyone but the judge, began sniffling. Her attorney handed her a tissue.

All I can say is thank God this beautiful child did not have to go on one more minute living her life with these miserable monsters who would have been more horrendous as the years went on.

From your link. Ugh.

Her attorney, Bassil, said Bond’s daughter was “everything” to her. “I do see her as a victim in this case,” Bassil said. “She has gone through a lot, and she wants to see this through to the end.”

Bond had faced the possibility of seven years in prison for the accessory charge, and 10 for the larceny charge. After court, Bassil said she thought the sentence of time served and probation was “more than justice — I don’t think she should have ever been charged.”

Bassil said Bond had suffered losing her child, and then been threatened by McCarthy and prevented from doing the right thing.

Bassil grew irritated by questions from reporters about how she could consider her client a victim when Bond helped dispose of her daughter’s body and then stayed silent.“Why don’t you walk in her shoes for a week and see how well you do?” she asked.

I wonder sometimes, do defense lawyers really believe some of the stuff they say?

Right?

She certainly seems to, like maybe she lost a close family member... She couldn't save them but she can save RB... [emoji20] MOO
RB needs to get her tubes tied before she is cut loose again!

Re: being prevented from going to the police---BS! And the DA, attorneys and RB all know it. She had multiple chances to call the police, to get away from McCarthy (both before and after Bella's murder) and she CHOSE to stay. Every single time, for month after month after month. She chose to stay and continue her lies and drugs. If Bella meant anything at all to her, no threat in the world would have stopped her from turning him in. Threaten me, beat me, kill me, but nothing would stop me from getting justice for my baby. MOO but I'm sure many will agree.

I very much doubt she is even a credible witness. I bet ex-boyfriends' attorney is going to claim she is the one responsible. So they both might just get off.

Could she pay her bail and be bonded out? The video says the judge revoked the 1 million dollar bond for Bond. What does that mean?!
