Yes, it was very unsettling.. IMO the "all" referred to in the note could very possibly be females..girls.. But then again IMO this individuals mindset is so severely disturbed that I find it even possible that he doesn't even have a determined, specific definition of who the "all" was that he was referring to.. As in "all" is simply the generalized definition of everyone.. He hates everyone/anyone..

I see it possible that his distorted thoughts possibly didn't even allow for there to be specificity in terms of a singular, certain group of people.. Just more so that he hates them all..

Then again, it very well could be indicative of his specific hatred of females.."girls"..idk, but as lamb chop mentioned I, too hope that we do learn more(including if there was in fact a certain group of people that he was referring to as *all*) as far as what were the motivating factors that led to such a horrific, brutal murder..

I would strongly suspect that he was referring to women or girls, given that the body was explicitly positioned in a sexual way, and had a foreign object (branch) inserted (sorry for even writing this) ... I think he felt sexually rejected and this was an "I'll show you" act, the "you" being women. The rape, the positioning, the branch, all points to the wish to humiliate the victim.

I'm sure his life has some horror stories as well as mom's. What exactly did he experience growing up with an abusive dad?

I feel he's a broken beyond repair. Be it just himself or his life.

I think all of his hatred,started with the move to Mass.Tenn is a lot different than Mass,not in a bad way but different.The people and the culture is different.I believe he liked Tenn,that is where his girlfriend lived and he had made friends there.Maybe he didn't feel at home there and I think the I hate everyone statement is directed there.Believe me there is no excuse for what he did.I am just trying to make sense of why now? IMO he had underlying issues from long ago with his family problems.I think it was building up to this point.This case is sickening.

I don't know if this has been posted before, if it was, I apologize, forgive me and move on. But, if not, did anyone here know that Danvers was formerly known as SALEM village? You know, the place where the witch trials, and the possessions/hangings, and other horrific things took place?

IMHO, there will be more horrendous, ugly stories about him to come out in the future. Perhaps not nearly as horrific as this but this was not his first day at the rodeo.

If I were a betting type of gal, I'd say there is a history there of him torturing animals, being obsessed with fires, hateful poetry and writings, violent movie/video game watching, anti-authoritative instances, obsessive thinking, and perhaps some controlling/graphic behavior towards women.

Yep, we've seen this before......sadly.

From a psych perspective, that depersonalizing terminology like "that girl" is a "distancing" mechanism commonly seen in a guilty party/offender/criminal.

I think she was an example for all that he hates. It wasn't about her, he didn't have a crush on her. She stood for all he hates. All women/girls probably. Sick.

My general impression so far is that he's a serial killer type, one with motives like Bundy but a quiet, not particularly charismatic demeanor like Dahmer when young.

I think he hates women, yes. It might just be a symbol for every hate he has, but he definitely really hates women. I think he obsessed/fantasized on the idea of sexual gore to women, however that gets imbedded in these guy's psyches

That demeaning sexual posing stuff, man. It's been a while since I saw a 'live' case like that I'm so glad there was only one and he self-combusted!
