The continued lockdown and complete seal of information on this case makes me think something even more horrific than we already know happened...or exactly what did he do with that boxcutter ....any sleuther thoughts?

I personally would side with the decision to keep things under wraps until all witness testimony and evidence is presented to the grand jury.

An arrest was quickly made, her body was found and there is ample evidence that has been released, that connects the crime for a conviction.

I'm satisfied that a killer isn't on the loose, a confession has been made, the crime was recorded on video and a body has been recovered.

That's more information than I've seen from the large majority of cases that I've followed here, that still don't have answers.

I can sympathize with the family, not wanting to see horrid details of the crime plastered all over MSM. It's hard enough and I've seen it cause more pain for families and loved ones of victims, when you just can't escape the media. I don't think the kids that loved this teacher so much need to hear all the details either.

Emotion and gossip can interfere with the recollection of events in the mind of a child and adult.

"There is no one who knows me," he said in a raspy voice, "or who has ever known me, who knows anything about me, really." Talk with them and you'll get the he-was-a-nice-quiet-guy answer.

"They are going to tell you something that does not line up with anything I tell you because I'm two different people, basically," he continued. "And the only person who knows about what I'm telling you, the kind of things I'm telling you, is me", quote AK psychopathic serial killer Israel Keyes...

"There were just times, a couple of times, where we would try to get a why," said Anchorage Police officer Jeff Bell, who helped interrogate Keyes for hours.
"He would have this term, he would say, 'A lot of people ask why, and I would be, like, why not?'" Bell said.

I sort of have been thinking the same thing. There is more to what happened in the bathroom than we know. I am ok with the temporary closing of the record to allow the witnesses to testify, etc. I am, however, a bit surprised that it has been taking this long though. If the kids testimony is that important, and apparantly subject to being influenced, then they should have testified to the grandjury at the very first opportunity.

anything new at all?

I havent heard a peep. I can't imagine a grand jury would still be hearing this, but I could be wrong. We don't really use grand juries in my state. I would maybe guess that the state and defendant are now just waiting on lab work and more importanntly on the mental evaluation. Then they will prob start talking about plea agreements.

From the Boston Globe article posted above:

"On Monday, lawyers for the Globe and other news organizations asked Lauranzano to unseal the affidavit and other records, a move opposed by Blodgett’s office and a lawyer for Ritzer’s family, who told the judge her family was still grieving the loss of the popular 24-year-old teacher.

Michael J. Grygiel — an Albany, N.Y., lawyer — represented the Associated Press, GateHouse Media, and the Eagle Tribune Publishing Co. in court.

Lauranzano, in his decision, extended the sealing of the affidavit to Nov. 22, the date that prosecutors have said they would finish presenting evidence to the grand jury."

Personally I think the still grieving family argument is a little lame. I am pretty sure they will be grieving for a very very long time. And, it could lead to speculation that there is something particularly unusual in this case.
Two more days. Might have to wait until Monday the 25th?

i.b. nora, good catch. It will be interesting to see if that affidavit gets released. I think it would be hard for the court to extend that again, but we'll see. Things might be a whole lot clearer once that affidavit is released.

I sincerely apologize if the article doesn't link correctly. I don't think I've ever included a link on WS and it doesn't seem to be working.

Watched the live stream of 17 yr old Austin Sigg's sentencing hearing for the abduction/sadistic rape/mutilation of 10 year old Jessica Ridgeway(CO), over the last couple of days. The info/evidence in his brutal attacks/murder was also sealed by the judge. I've watched a lot of trials of predators/serial killers in the past, but none as dark and evil as Siggs'..
Hope PC's brutal attack and murder of CR wasn't as brutal and horrific...

He stole her underwear? To get rid of his sperm or as a keepsake? He did destroy her phone so he may have taken them to get rid of them.

If he was alone in the movie theater, I have to wonder if he was doing more disgusting things while he was there. Barf.

14 years old....

How does a 14 year olds mind become so demented to commit such a heinous act.

I want to know if his computer forensics showed a lot of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and extreme violence.
