I cant believe that her defense will not crumble in the face of this. I hope he can pick out the texts he feels were supportive of Conrad and were attempts to prevent his suicide-isnt that what he promised us a short time ago?

She was relentless. She gave him no peace...she literally hounded him into it. And she knew the potential consequences, as she texted Samantha when she found out the LE had his phone.

What I read was upsetting enough I would worry it might trigger someone who was at risk.

Moral culpability, yes. No question.

Legal culpability? I'm not so sure. But IANAL.

It will be very interesting to see how this case plays out within our legal system.

ETA: Just for clarification, I am not defending her. I'm only considering the legal aspect.

I'll provide links later, can't do it right on the iPad, but new day new defense/excuse. Now her atty is requesting dismissal saying she'd been "brainwashed" into encouraging him to kill himself. No explanation as to how this brainwashing occurred though.

I am aghast. This is a psychopath full of herself. It is all about Carter. What a waste of humanity.

I lost my husband to mental illness (he is alive, but we are divorced). there was not ONE day that I didn't fear for suicide, that I did not pray and beg and bargain with God over his health. And he never got better. It was devastating, watvching him disappear, become not even a memory of who he was. This @%#@^^# is the works kind of person. How DARE SHE. How. I am in tears and friends, y'all know that ain't easy.

She brainwashed his family when she pretended that she did all that she could do to save his life. Even when she made the mentally confused teen get back in the truck and finish the job.

Let's not forget the neglect to call his mother while all the plans were being discussed the day of the suicide.

The FOIA docs lnked upthread were incredibly difficult to read. It was hard for me to read past her telling Conrad his parents would accept it and her statement tbat no one could help. Her statements couldn't be farther from the truth. NO parent would ever be OK with tbeir child commiting suicide and with the right combination of treatment and meds people can and do get better.

I don't know where she gets her holier than thou attitude that she knew better tban his family and professionals, but she is clearly a very dangerous person. Never in a million years could I imagine responding to a suicidal person in the manner she did.

As a parent my heart ripped out reading those docs. I can't begin to imagine how painful it must been and still be for Conrad's mom to read those exchanges.
