On April 10, Wein's vehicle was illegally parked on Ocean Avenue in South Kingstown and was towed, according to officials.

It's odd that his car was found and towed away on April 10, but he wasn't reporting as missing until April 18. There is no mention of the car being inspected/processed for clues.

As his car was found illegally parked amd hence towed, one could question whether he left it there, or someone else did. Was the car functional ? Did he leave any belongings in it?

The South Kingstown Police Department is asking Ocean Road residents who may have surveillance or doorbell video footage relevant to the case to contact the department.

South Kingston RI is in the southernmost part of the state. It's about 80 miles from Boston where Eric was last seen. IMO it's not somewhere you would just happen to pass through. I wonder if he went to South Kingston for a specific reason, or his car was just dumped there.

In the early weeks of April 2025, Eric Wein was staying at the Phil and Annes Sunset motel in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

Eric lives in Massachusetts, and before traveling to Rhode Island was last seen in Boston in early April.

Police have identified the human remains found in Westerly nearly a month ago as a missing Mansfield man.

The Rhode Island medical examiner’s office confirmed the remains that washed ashore on May 14 are those of 31-year-old Eric Wein.
