Heart wrenching. As awareness of grows so will the possibilities of finding her. People will look, check their security cameras for those hours between 6 and 10 the night she vanished, for signs of his van. It's a populated area, somebody may have noticed something. Others will know more about what he does and where he goes. I hope more people realize they need to help to bring Jaimee home. People may know and not be aware they know what counts. I hope LE has a PC to encourage people to do just that. So many have been found by individuals who looked and kept an eye out. The pain of this for Mrs. Mendez, the whole family, especially Jaimee's son, her community, is too great. I pray, may Jaimee be found and returned to her own.

The Mendez have been great about everything they have done, from the moment they learned of Jaimee's plight. They have nothing to apologize for. The community will hopefully rally and find. They must, as these kinds of people who take loved ones away exist. They creep in the spaces and places between us. This, I believe.

There is an announcement from the family on the Find Jaimee FB Page. Appears the family understands that they are in recovery mode of Jaimee and needed to clarify.

They are stating that she did not survive beyond the Thursday of her disappearance (paraphrasing IMO). I wonder if LE has told them something or if that's their belief only.

I pray they can bring her home soon :(

I think they are just going off evidence and instinct personally. But if more has been discovered, I wonder why it hasn't been released to the public yet? :/

I hope that LE will come forward with a statement now that the family has made an announcement on SM. Like FindHG said if for no other reason than to ask people to please check their properties or places of business especially if they work around Technology Way.

I assume winter is knocking on the door there and it's just a matter of time before the snowy days arrive. Time is critical right now!

I still don't understand the complete silence on behalf of LE since the all hands on deck search last Thursday and then needing a day to regroup. The silence is deafening!

I'm sorry I'm terrible at maps so I don't usually chime in when areas to be searched are proposed . But there was some chatter on the FB page about a Flax Pond. Can any locals describe this area and if it would be a potential search point? Is it secluded or in a very public place, etc.

TIA all!

I get that same vibe which is why I wish we would hear something through MSM/LE. I can certainly understand the family believing too much time has passed for a positive outcome but I don't understand the statement that she did not live beyond Thursday.

:dunno:

Probably (and this is just a guess) because she didn't show up to the meeting spot, her phone was off (although she had her charger), and her family said she wouldn't have willingly not come home to her son. But perhaps there's more they aren't releasing yet. I agree, LE needs to provide a statement, even if it's to just let everyone know they haven't given up hope of finding her.

You're probably right but Lord those are some pretty big assumptions to make and put out there for all to see. I noticed we are not the only ones wondering based on the FB comments. IMO

I noticed that also.

Right? I feel like the people directly involved must know much more than is being released...No one would want to give up that easily.

If my daughter was missing, and the next day they found her shoes, jacket, phone and other items thrown away like common trash, I'd probably feel the same way. :( Of course I'd want to hold out hope that she was alive somewhere but it would be really hard to do that, especially knowing how much she adores her children (and in Jaimee's case, her son) and would *never* stay away intentionally, especially over night, without having already made arraingments and making sure everyone knew where she was and how to get ahold of her. It sounds like Jaimee is the same kind of mom as my own daughter.

So, I understand that statement, even if it's just a hunch on their part.

I agree. I'm a realist-bordering-on-pessimist and I feel like if I know someone, I know someone. I'd trust my judgment in knowing whether or not they'd just "run off," especially if there was no history of that and they were a devoted mother AND someone who needed daily meds to stay alive.

The silence from LE is very odd! And annoying.

There was just a little blurb on the local news.
Apparently they have called in a dive team to search tomorrow. Not sure which body of water. If I hear more I will post.

Maybe they are planning on searching the pond SDHELPS mentioned!

Oh, my! I'm just rejoining you guys now.. (OT but wanted to mention it because I'm a bit shook up-- daughter's fiancé had a big buck jump in front of his little car; he's full of glass and scratched up, but he could have been killed. I went to get him and the car is so twisted I guess I lost it. Glad we are home. Taking my mind off it til tomorrow when things can be done. Such is life in EmmaRoseland tonight.) I am so sorry to hear about Jaimee. I guess her family knows what would happen without her medicine, or perhaps LE found evidence that Jaimee is no longer with us then alerted the Mendez. Either way, this is just awful. The thought of her family knowing she is outside somewhere is tough to read. I hope they find her soon for the sake of her parents and sister, not to mention her poor little boy. I am counting my blessings.

When Law Enforcement is this quiet, following an all "hands on deck" search just a few days ago, they know something, imo. Its very possible they know certain things, but need forensic test results before they can announce what they know, or make an arrest.

It's terribly sad to see the family write what they have on fb, and I don't think they would make such an announcement without seriously good reason to believe it. I hope they find Jamiee and I hope there is justice for she and her loved ones.

According to a comment on the Find Jaime page by one of the admins regarding Stephanie:

If that's the case then she probably really does no nothing about Jaimee's disappearance. She might still be able to give LE a few leads though, like people to question, etc.

Dive team to search Lynn pond in missing woman case
By Antonio Planas - Monday, November 17, 2014

State police spokesman David Procopio said the dive team will search the Floating Bridge Pond near Route 107 in Lynn tomorrow in hopes of finding evidence of the disappearance of Jaimee Mendez who was last heard from the night of Nov. 6, her family said.

"The dive team is going in tomorrow" at the request of State police detectives with the Essex County District Attorney's Office, Procopio said. "At the very least it can exclude the body of water if nothing else is found." The dive team will be in the water tomorrow morning, Procopio said.

Interesting how the parking lot abuts the water
