The professor, Nuno F.G. Loureiro, was pronounced dead at a hospital on Tuesday morning. The authorities said they had opened a homicide investigation.

All of this is to say that it was also mentioned that the possible homicide may be related to a possible scientific discovery made by Nuno Loureiro.

I think this must be a personal grudge, maybe someone who feels "wronged," that some injustice has occurred in their life. They went to his home, while his family was there. So cruel and cold.
