Not trying to be rude or judgmental here, but having an open mind means that the state has to prove beyond any reasonable doubt. You're looking at it the other way around. IMO
"Reasonable" being the keyword... not "imaginable." If you're going to suggest a wild scenario involving dog attacks... a coverup involving dozens... you need to prove that.

And to that end, there are any number of "no doubt" things that could exist... like prove those marks are from a dog attack. Prove the search was done at 2:27 AM. Cell phone data showing JO active at different times. Show any proof he made it into the house. But... they can't.

It all sounds absurd vs. the obvious drunk/angry gf in her SUV.

Another voicemail from 1:18 AM. "John, I’m going home. I cannot babysit your niece…you’re using me. You’re f*cking another girl. [Niece] is sleeping next to me. You’re a f*cking loser. F*ck yourself." #WBZ

MSP Detective Guarino tells ADA Lally there were 50 calls from KR's phone to JO's phone on 1/29 from 12:30am to 6am. This would have been after KR says she dropped him off.

He also says "Ms. Reads phone auto connected to Mr okeefe’s wifi at 12:36 am" (Meadows Ave)

Does that mean she was at or near JO's place at 12.36am? More digital evidence conflicting with JMc's pre-prepped testimony and more stains on her credibility? Wonder how Lally deals with the cognitive dissonance which must be evoked by his own dodgy witnesses. So bloomin messy.

@JHall7news

Some of the voice mails are very short...some very angry. Read calls O'Keefe a "bleeping" pervert and tells him to go "bleep" himself. She also says in the first one, sent at 12:37 am on Jan 29 2022, "john I (bleeping" hate you!!!" She is screaming into her phone.

Guarino says Read left 8 voicemails - some appear to be butt dials or are silent.from 12:30- 6 am there were 53 calls made by Read to O'Keefe's phone. O'Keefe never picked up any of them.

Burden of Proof

In a criminal trial, the burden of proof is on the government. Defendants do not have to prove their innocence. Instead, the government must provide evidence to convince the jury of the defendant’s guilt. The standard of proof in a criminal trial gives the prosecutor a much greater burden than the plaintiff in a civil trial. The defendant must be found guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt,” which means the evidence must be so strong that there is no reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the crime.

Lally plays the eight voicemails. In some she repeatedly swears at him. In one there's no audio. In the last one, from 6:08am, we hear the pulse of the windshield wipers as 911 is called from the scene. Read is heard screaming in the background.

Guarino says he was also able to extract health data from O'Keefe's cell phone showing how many steps he took. But Guarino says the data is not always active. "Just waving it around could cause it to think you're moving," he says.
