I want to "like" this post x 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately it's just a fantasy. Hate to say it but I'm more pessimistic than I was even a month ago. I don't think those responsible for John O'Keefe's death will be held accountable any time in the near future, if ever. I was holding onto the idea that FBI might be working behind the scenes but I guess probably not. Apart from her defense, no one in a position to do anything practical about it seems to give two hoots if KR is convicted for a crime she never committed. Jmo

The filing hammers the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office, and Assistant District Attorneys Adam Lally and Laura McLaughlin, in particular, for making a “mockery of Ms. Read’s right to due process.”

“To allow this case to proceed to trial would create a climate in which these types of flagrant constitutional and statutory violations are regarded as permissible. Such an outcome cannot be tolerated by this Court.”

DEDHAM, Mass. (Court TV) — Karen Read is back in court Tuesday for another hearing ahead of her April retrial.

Attorneys are expected to argue numerous motions, including the admissibility of the Commonwealth’s dog bite expert witness, a defense request to test vehicles belonging to Read and her father, and other evidentiary requests.

The corruption will be covered up. The prosecutors will prevail. Judge Cannone will get her desired outcome. moo

Unfortunately, this is the uneasy feeling I have as well. Everyone involved in the prosecution has much to lose if KR’s case is dismissed. It will open many questions into misconduct and who, if not KR, ended JOK’s life. I strongly wish for KR’s charges to be dismissed, but I don’t think we will see that happen. MOO.

The motion was delicious, IMO.

The CW and CPD, MSP cheated, over and over. They ( defense) caught them. Brady violations up the ying yang.

Waiting for the dramatic statement, visible shaking and sighs from Judge C on this one.....

Either Judge C dismisses the case, or the defense requests evidentiary hearings.....on all of it. MORE SUNLIGHT on the Corruption in MA. I'm Lovin' it.

The audible "hissing" now displayed by the CW and Judge has got to be deafening, in my opinion.

Delicious indeed @shotgun09 !

The problem with their motion is that it is going in front of the same judge that shrugged her shoulders when the CW continually broke the rules of discovery! I don't see Judge C doing the right thing here. What are their options when she refuses? Can they send the exact same juicy dismissal document to a higher court?

Indeed they can! And they surely will. More sunlight on the corruption.....all the way up. IMO

Concerning the Fed's involvement in this whole thing there is one major aspect of it that people miss. The Feds weren't necessarily investigating misconduct in the Read case. The Read case is just one part of a larger investigation. The Feds stumbled upon the Read case because there are some of the same players involved. By investigating them, they uncovered some shady things that they noticed going on in the Read case, so they passed over 3000pgs of things they felt the Defense should be made aware of. The Fed's investigation was never about Read per say.

This rumor going around earlier in the week that the Fed's were done with Read was a big Nothing. I think they are keeping an eye on the Read Trial as it may lead to something that will help them in their investigation into whatever they were looking into in the first place. That's a big difference that I think gets lost in all the Read Trial drama.

Maybe so and JOK will never get justice. Without KR to blame the real killer(s) known or unknown to the CW will become a cold case.

I see this case as really nothing more than just another Norfolk County cover-up scandal. I believe Read is innocent and this behavior of the DA office to drive so hard with this case, especially with trying to sell a story of willful homicide, just underscores the level of depravity they (Norfolk County authorities) are capable of going to.
If anyone remembers the Burke-Kennedy case scandal from 25 years ago, involving blatantly unethical, unconstitutional behavior against an innocent man (Burke, who was defendant) in the Irene Kennedy murder...that is just another shining example. Even when obviously exculpatory and exonerating evidence was produced, the DA withheld it. Then flatly said they'd done nothing wrong.
The Read case reminds me much of that one. Malfeasance on the Court's part as they are well accustomed to not being held accountable. Hopefully this case will change this longstanding problem here.

Oh wow the CW has filed their opposition to the Defense's motion to dismiss. It's completely laughable!! NOW they are turning over "new" evidence!!!!! The CW basically is throwing the Canton PD and Proctor, Lally and everyone else under the bus! What a complete and utter joke!

Wild that within these last few filings there’s mention of the Sallyport surveillance camera system being replaced later because of it not working all the while defense claiming Brennan told them just two days ago about (new?) chain of custody reports for said Sallyport video AND video footage that he told them they’ll be getting on Monday.

Brennan I guess is some miracle worker, all this digging he’s doing has uncovered an “iCloud” video that was really actually a video on an external device in a box stored somewhere (easy to confuse, duh); chain of custody reports for video files that also seemingly didn’t even exist previously.
Just wild.

No matter what one thinks of KR’s guilt or innocence, what she’s up against seems far from fair. JMOO.
