I was just referring to the bonding, not the timeline. Re the timeline, it could be that Kerry wanted to know what happened the night before that led up to it. I have no idea if there were any shenanigans, but I could see them becoming convinced that KR hit John and were trying to piece things together because the scene was so chaotic that morning.
