Personally, I think they bonded over their dislike of Karen.

It seemed as if one of the issues between John and Karen was that she spoiled the kids. Did Kerry or Jen point this issue out to John? I don't think either woman liked Karen. And why did they have to mimic Karen's hysteria over and over again. No compassion.
I know of no evidence that they said anything about the kids to John. It seems John would have first hand information about that issue since he lived with them. Is there any evidence that they disliked Karen before they went in the car with her and found John? JMO.

So, who was driving the Lexus LX 570 when the black box clearly shows it backing up at 24 MPH in the snow...? Are we now making believe that never happened?
According to the key cycle data, that action happened while the vehicle was in possession of LE, specifically, according to AJ in T1 while questioning Trooper Paul on the stand, Proctor.

That's seriously my biggest problem with the prosecution's case.

I get that but if Kerry wasn't with them that night how can she help with the timeline since all her interaction was after the event?
I was just referring to the bonding, not the timeline. Re the timeline, it could be that Kerry wanted to know what happened the night before that led up to it. I have no idea if there were any shenanigans, but I could see them becoming convinced that KR hit John and were trying to piece things together because the scene was so chaotic that morning. And I'm not saying that I think KR is guilty. I have a feeliing that the CW won't be able to prove their case. JMO.

I believe it was last week I mentioned about the carpet (link below) the defendant had been housing from 34F.

However...
  • There was no carpet in the basement
  • If there was any truth to the defendant having carpet from 34F, there's no doubt it would have already been swabbed for blood evidence. That would have been important evidence to clear defendant; and it is important to get the sample tested quickly. Would have shown JOK in the house, only problem, he never went into the house.
  • Thats why no one on defense team talks about the "carpet"...
  • Guess it makes more sense to spend the money by housing the lawyers and defendant.

The article also reveals that Read housed her lawyers, David Yannetti, Alan Jackson and Elizabeth Little, and herself in the same hotel leading up to and during her trial, at a cost of $1.2 million. She used a combination of her savings, $500,000 from her legal fund and $400,000 donated by friends and family to cover the costs.

Near the end of the piece, Miller includes a conversation from her final night with Read, saying Read talked about a temperature-controlled storage unit she's paying for to house carpeting torn from the Alberts' home after they sold it. She said she hopes to get enough money to swab the carpet at some point for blood and DNA evidence.

I said I wasn’t going to follow this trial closely on round 2, and here I am. I resisted until today. sigh. I’m back in.

SBM. Frankly, so what? The ‘American Rule’ is common in many legal jurisdictions, and that’s that each party is responsible for their own legal fees. There’s absolutely nothing nefarious about this.

Ian Whiffin (Cellebrite expert) great eye contact, composed and confident in his testimony.

Whiffin says Read made 7 calls to O’Keefe’s phone before the temperature started dropping. Says the first call from Read was made after the health data stopped.

JMc testimony: compassion, calm, credible, empathy, truthful, relatable, likable, confident, articulate, and everyone needs a friend like JMc.

The defendant, shows no remorse (looks big mad - arms crossed in front of chest), mocks John O’Keefe’s mother, and brags about drinking and how drinks at a bar aren’t strong enough for her taste.

Witnesses that plan to testify if needed: The Alberts and The McCabes

The defendant and AK have not and will not testify- One took the fifth and the other ….;) might take the 5th

IW’s in real time demonstration showing how the timestamp was initially misread. Priceless.

Judge Cannone's decision to allow ARCCA: No problem and no surprise. Called it yesterday. I have no doubt ADA Brennan knew what the judge would decide too. In addition, ADA Brennan will put Wolfe through the shredder.

JMC recants 4:53 am phone call to Kaylee (JOK’s niece) My thoughts are with the O'Keefe family. Every day is difficult for them, however, today, an extra heartbreaking day. Every day this family misses JJ, he is solely missed by his family and all that loved him. They are staying strong. I am sending them love and support always.

Glad ADA Brennan had the Waterfall video shown in court today. It shows that no one was mad at John. Everyone liked JOK. John was given warm welcomes, hugs. He was the Patriot Saint of Canton, as said by the defendant. No one was raging mad with John, no one, but the defendant.

Thinking the “Bella’s mom comment set her off/triggered her.... moo

Id rather have a sister that has a few and dances to its raining men than a sis that gets extremely intoxicated and allegedly runs a man down, leaving him to die in the cold doesnt render aid.

I dont ever recall seeing a defendant at the defense table play-like they are an attorney before.

ADA Brennan going up against five attorneys and he’s a beast

All a matter of opinion for today

Same here. The room spins if I drink a drink an hour.
I always figured I was an average drinker. Maybe a drink or two if I go out to dinner or during an evening party. I would be on the ground if I drank as much as the people in the trial.

My bold. Yes, there had been carpet in the basement. It was removed and replaced by Jill Daniels' (Colin Albert's auntie) boyfriend (a local flooring contractor) at some point after O'Keefe was killed and before the house was put on the market. The new carpet can be seen in the Zillow realtor photos in the (at that point) empty room in the basement adjacent to the weight room.

The carpet Read has is carpet the new owners let her have after they ripped it all out whilst renovating the house. It's either from the stairs or the second floor. I agree its probably not relevent, but it's not accurate to imply there was no carpet in the basement the night O'Keefe died. And the removal of said carpet was done by someone directly connected to the family.

Everyone liked Karen. That's been my understanding. JMc testified today she liked her, in trial one same testimony.
JOK's friends and his family liked her. As far as Mrs. O'Keefe, I cannot speak for her, but I will say that I think she had mother's intuition that fateful day. She wanted to be as far away from the defendant as possible. No one knows what their relationship was during the time defendant dated JOK.

I do think the defense is going to spend more time this time on the Waterfall video. Especially at the very end when Higgins is yelling in John's direction and is restrained by one of the Alberts. (I think it was Chris, but of course he testified he was home in bed by then!)

It's hard to tell from the video, but the Waterfall is a really small place. I'm going to guess John heard Higgins loud and clear.

We can agree to disagree. :) However, funny that evidence would just be left at the house for anyone, how careless of a BPO. sarcasm

Seemed like Chris was the one that grabbed BH and that was when BH turned toward John telling him to come with them?? That whole part was odd to me.

Karen just seemed like an insure girlfriend, and trying to be good to John's kids. This whole crew drank, and that sometimes causes problems in relationships. imo

@Soulmagent, thank you. I much respect you too. Appreciate kind words. No problem that our opinions differ, that's always expected- If we were all alike it would be boring. Though, it's getting a bit too heavy for me now, so have a wonderful evening. :)

Exactly, then followed up by Higgins texting him “ you coming?”

Dang, I must have been watching the wrong channel and trial all day long. The one I watched showed a very much "shakened and stirred" Whiffen. I thought he was going to cry after Alessi had raked him over the coals. Heck Alessi had him doubting his own testimony. Oh, and the newly tanned Jen McCabe I watched today, she wore an open blouse with a cross to entice the jurors into believing she was a nice and non-lying woman . A faithful woman who just happened to text JK 7 times after a few drinks. Don't worry, her hubby Matt isn't the jealous type. That's why he referred to JK when he was dead as "that guy who never came in the house." Sweet couple! All in my own opinion.

I noticed the big cross! Did she wear that last time?
