Officers Lank, Goode, Saraf, Malaney and Gallagher.

From Lt Gallagher's testimony day 9

those are the officers that were searching in the early morning hours... I was trying to find which officers showed up during the search in the evening hours. O'Hara didn't know who they were.

The longer a person lives and the more a person dates or marries, the greater the chance that they too may know how it feels to be cheated on or at least have the feeling that their partner could be cheating on them. We all have jealous tendencies by nature, that is what makes us human. I can say firsthand and as a middle aged female, being cheated on is a devastating feeling and yes, people say horrible things to each other and that is a fact that many of us can relate too. It doesn't make the person a murderer. This is just releasing emotion and often it is not pretty. My husband who is also my best friend, curse at each other at least once a month and we have been together for 21 years. Show me a couple that never argues and I would call their relationship suspect. MO
Exactly this. I’ve had fights with my partner I’d never want played back for all to hear. Karen’s voicemails weren’t composed or rational, they were raw, messy, and human. That’s not indicative of murder. It’s indicative of heartbreak. People say ugly things when they’re spiraling, especially under the weight of betrayal trauma, which hits when someone you love and trust violates that bond. As far as we know, John had likely cheated before, and Karen was reacting to a painful, familiar pattern. That doesn’t excuse the language, but it explains the intensity. Anyone who’s been hurt like that knows how easily it can break you. Emotional volatility isn’t criminal - as I’ve said before, if it was, half the country would be in jail. MOO.

I almost missed this - but Maureen Hartnett testified that each piece of evidence is bagged separately & assigned its own number. Then right before lunch, Hank told her she can put the taillight housing back in the box & she says: “There are other items in here.” Hank says “That’s ok”

Wow, really breezing over these stains on direct.

Seems like Brennan was trying to get her to agree that the snow/weather would help keep evidence in place longer... maybe regarding the glass/hair? She didn't want to comment and has no knowledge of whether it would or wouldn't, just said when she saw KR's SUV, it had no snow on it.

Again, I go back to the fact that she was parked in the garage after she allegedly hit him, it would not have been 'frozen' to the bumper or held down by the snowfall. Plus she bumped his vehicle on her way out.

this is the 2nd time in this trial where the jurors have been able to see for themselves just how sloppy they are with evidence. (the 1st being the shoe evidence issue)

Ms Hartnett is an excellent witness.

Just answers the questions and seems to have no agenda whatsoever.

Yuri and others could learn a lot from watching/listening to her.

Alessi will cross Ms. Hartnett.

Alessi is going to systematically destroy this witness. I love watching this guy work.

Alessi immediately establishes that Proctor called Hartnett and was the lead investigator.

Hartnett was called to examine Karen’s Lexus. She had been informed there may have been a pedestrian-vehicle collision.

Hartnett drew no conclusions as to where the scratches on Karen’s vehicle came from. Same for the dent - she had no source or cause. She did not come to the conclusion that the scratches or dents were caused by a pedestrian-vehicle accident.

She is pretty straight forward, answers what she can, doesn't answer outside her knowledge or expertise.

In case anyone was wondering... she confirms, red solo cups are not typically used to collect biological material. She has never before and has never since taken swabs from Red Solo Cups.

Ms. Hartnett made no conclusions as to the cause of the broken tailight. She drew no conclusions on whether that tailight was broken by a MV-pedestrian incident.

Alessi is asking if the dent, scratches and tailight damage could have existed before she went to the sallyport 2/1/22. For all she knows, they could have existed before 1/29/22.

MH did not see any visible stains or tissue on the vehicle.

MH was told that JOK had wounds to his right arm. She was not shown a photograph of Johns arm wounds. But she has since seen the photos of Johns arm.

Alessi is asking whether she can tell if John’s arm wounds were caused by the vehicle. MH says she cannot come to any conclusions regarding the source of John’s arm wounds. Outside of her scope.

MH cannot state if she observed anything on the vehicle that would cause the wounds to John’s arms. Again, outside of her scope. Brennan objects to this + JBC sustains.

Major props to her. She is very professional.

There was nothing notable found near the top of the lift gate of the SUV - where the CW may allege hit John’s head.

MH noted nothing in the undercarriage of the vehicle. MH did not collect any samples from the undercarriage because she saw nothing of note. She performed screening tests for blood on the tire flaps, edge of bumper, and muffler pipe. Those results were negative for blood.

I suspected this was going to come up later. Brennan had instructed the jurors to pay close attention to the spoiler top on the Lexus.

Alessi is recapping now. Asks MH ‘you have no way on feb 1st or today if any or all of that damage was present before 1/29/22?’ MH confirms that that is correct.

Now onto the Lexus odometer while it was in the Sallyport garage.

MH was present with Trooper Clark in the Sallyport 2/1/22. Clark took a picture of the Lexus’ odometer. Alessi asks why the odometer wouldn’t be important to her. MH notes that her job is only to look for biological materials on an item. She says she observed damage, but did not perform analysis on the damage.
